“What Is The Greatest Prank Of All Time?”
(Various editors listed their favs)
This one is from Will Leitch, senior writer, Sports on Earth
George Clooney was once a struggling actor who lived with a roommate and a cat. For days, Clooney scooped out the litter box without telling his roommate, who grew increasingly worried that his cat could not excrete. One night, Clooney relieved himself in the box. When his roommate came home and saw the mess, he exclaimed, “Oh my God, kitty!” Now you can picture the Oscar winner squatting over a cat box.
(Gross, but worthy, imho)

Next, you hear the cat flushing the toilet.
@mehcuda67

The picture of him in the banner or whatever it’s called, up at the top, matches the guy who’d do such a thing a lot better than the suave-looking black-tie portrait inside the thread.
There is quite a bit more to this story. Also another prank that went on for years. Something about a painting that he found on the side of the road and a friend still has it hanging on his wall. I don’t remember all of the details. You can here all of it on the Smartless podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett. March 8, 2021The entire episode is very entertaining!

@jimmyd103 (No reflection on you, just commenting at how ugly the internet has become and that we pretend that users are responsible for getting tricked into clicking by the bad guys.)
Sheesh. Even the direct link removing the tracking and referral codes is festooned with its own embedded tracking and access tokens, presumably for the Akamai/cloud CDN they’re using. And then we’re told to avoid “URL shorteners” because you never know where they will send you. We don’t even know where legit links will send us anymore.
Tech is a mess because some idiots keeps trying to monetize everything.

@mike808 I’m completly ignorant of everything you described. My apology for suggesting the link. I use the Podcast Addict app and found the episode via their app. Didn’t even consider the tracking aspect. I agree about the ugly aspects of www.
@jimmyd103 Unfortunately the internet has become a damned if you do, damned if you don’t worst case when it comes to sharing links to share information. It is abused to become a eay to extort your personal information instead, as the price to pay for knowledge.
