@zinimusprime $120/hr, and I usually request 45-minute sessions. And not only was a beard never something I wanted or welcomed, it’s worse than a nuisance now that I’ve swapped sides. Fortunately, mine was always a bit sparse, light-colored and slow-growing*. Unfortunately, that makes the follicles difficult for the electrologist to target properly, and it makes me entirely resistant to laser removal techniques.
* I spent three months trying to grow a mustache back in the summer of 1992, and literally almost no one noticed. In late August, annoyed with the itch from it, I shaved it off - and no one noticed. This counts as yet another of the Clues that I missed or outright ignored before December 5, 2018.
@werehatrack@zinimusprime I’m 42 and never have been able to grow facial hair but just recently found that I am way way low in testosterone for a man my age and just started replacement therapy.
I shave in the shower cuz I am the bald. My wife likes it smooth like a cue ball and that lady gets what she wants (even though I look damn good with a beard).
23&Me says have more Neanderthal variants in my DNA than 90% of the people who have used 23&Me. Sure it’s less than 0.002% of my overall DNA, but I like to think I should look the part, and never shave anything. So here I am, a hairy caveman.
I hate shaving, and I always seem to cut myself in the same spots, so I have scars on top of scars. Instead, I use an epilator on my legs. It’s also an electric razor, so I use that on my pits when someone will see them. I tried using the epilator on my pits, but there are limits to the pain I’m willing to endure.
@lisagd I had my underarm hair laser-zapped about a decade ago and it’s been SO worth it. I didn’t have a lot there but shaving sometimes left me with ingrown hairs. I only needed one session, but I was a good candidate (dark hair, light skin.) It was painful though - a lot more so than the little tattoo I got on the side of my hip.
In the shower when I did. However it’s been years. Ever since I started working from home only. I just kinda buzz cut it and the head every 2 weeks ish/when it gets annoying.
If I were going to shave I still have my Merkur DE razor, decent badger brush, feather blades, and now some Tabac instead of Taylor of old bond street. It’s a nice enough thing if you’re just doing your face.
No idea on the legs/pits/etc. seems like some problematic spots/a lot of area although also not necessary every day?
The parts that scare people when I don’t.
once a month on average, more in the summer, less in the winter
After a hot shower. These wirelike bristles need all the softening they can get.
Hair
Yes.
Not since I grew a “quarantine beard”.
I started my beard when I was 26, haven’t shaved since. I trim it once in a while, but that’s it.
A half dozen more sessions with the electrologist, and I should finally be able to say “Never”. For now, it’s still
“occasionally. as needed.”
@werehatrack how much does that cost? And you really dislike shaving that much?

Thank goodness the hair on my legs is sparse and basically blond. I shave before vacation every summer, but that is about it!
