I like long summer days so I can take my dog to the dog park late in the evening without having to talk to the kind of people who take their dogs to dog parks.
I prefer my clocks not having to change messing up everyone’s sleeping pattern and needlessly costing our economy a countless amount of money in productivity.
@goldnectar
Arizona stopped doing that ages ago. Starting this year, Washington has decided to stay on daylight savings time year-round, with the other Pacific coast states and BC in the legislative process for doing the same.
I kinda like it all, the shifting of the seasons, that it doesn’t always have to be light all the time or dark all the time and there’s nice things about all of it and knowing if you just hang around for a few months it’ll change. Unless you live on the equator or something …
I like being up in the dark. Everything is best: shadows are long, lights are dramatic, it’s cooler and quieter, it’s more isolating, and music sounds like it is supposed to. I also like leaving work and seeing golden light or a sunset.
It does start to feel a little oppressive when the day just won’t end and it’s late and time for things to wind down but the sun’s… up there, pretending it’s still noon or something.
I can handle going to work in the dark, but leaving work and it is already dark outside is depressing. It makes me feel like work consumed my entire day.
I wish we observed daylight savings time all year around.
I wake up late and go to bed late. I don’t necessarily want longer days, I’d just rather the sun had a schedule closer to mine. Asking for a longer day is just making a consideration to all the morning people out there.
Shorter days = fall/winter…yippie!!
I like the longer days because I’m night blind.
Around here, it’s possible for the sun to rise and set while I’m at work in the winter, so I’m going with longer
Sandwiched between two nights.
Around here, long days mean damn hot outside and either damn hot or expensive inside.
I like late spring/early summer when it gets dark at around 8 but it’s still around 70 outside.

Shorter days because I don’t need heat or vitamin D.
@ZeroCharisma Fuck the moon!
First, I dislike the sun. Second, night is just so peaceful, y’know?
Equinox!
@PocketBrain or equator!
If you like the sun, go south for the winter. In not, go south for the summer. Otherwise, just go south.
@hchavers That would work great if I had a job where i could work wherever i happen to be. But i don’t, and neither do most people

I want longer winter days. Like 28 hour days. I could still work 8 hours but I’d have more time to sleep.
Longer the day, more time to be outside, more time to enjoy not being cooped up inside. Plus, less electricity for lights.
Google " after dark" and it’ll tell you what happens at night…
@IWUJackson Use Bing for that, not Google.
@IWUJackson After Dark made the best screensavers
My dog wakes me up 10 minutes before the sun rises. So a later sunrise is key.
@dptalia my cat leaves me alone. Not having a dog is key.
@unksol None of my other dogs were morning puppies. Just this one - and he’s a freaking nocturnal breed!

Long days with endless evenings so I can get more patio time

@DrWorm
I’m in South Africa right now, and the days are weird. It gets light at 5am, and it’s dark at 6:30.
I like to have more time to fritter away. More time to dawdle. More time to putter. More time to just fart around the house…literally.
