@Felton10@Kidsandliz@Koolhandjoe Since it’s waterproof, guys really only need to lift one leg depending on which way they tend to lean. In the morning, just jump in the shower with them on.
@Felton10@Kidsandliz@kuoh Use in the shower…See that solves for 3 problems… the need for a fly, how to wash them and by eliminating the use of a toilet and washing machine you’re in effect helping the environment by using less water… I call that a win, win…win… Now all we need to do is get them on Shark Tank and get a licensing deal from Mark Cuban
@Felton10@Koolhandjoe@kuoh Shark Tank would want a patent pending and as most of them are men… well I don’t think they’d accept the sissors/knife solution proposed here. Trouble is duct tape and bubble wrap and you can make the same thing leaving a “hole” in the right place (grin).
In between but I lean towards the light. I am just glad I am not a long sleeper. I can’t believe people give up a third of the day or more to sleeping.
@ironcheftoni I was truly surprised how well that Metr… stuff worked, AND THEN, I was BEYOND SHOCKED to see how WELL a warm glass of milked worked! Zzz…
@ironcheftoni@macromeh@PooltoyWolf@unksol When you any of your dreams include something to do with Meh (or goats) then you need something stronger than Melatonin before bed.
My sister is the heaviest sleeper. She won’t move at all from when she goes under to when she wakes up. No noise or lights or shoves will wake her. On the flip side, she always seems to wake up when she wants to. No need for an alarm clock (which wouldn’t wake her anyway).
I was a heavy sleeper when I was younger. It would take superhuman efforts to wake me. And I would wake up in the same place I fell asleep – no flopping around. Now I can hear a feather hit the ground. I think it is because after the kids came along, part of me is always on duty. Now that they’re getting older I’m sleeping a little more soundly. Still don’t move around a lot.

Right outside berthing, up the ladder within arm’s reach, door to the arresting gear space. When we went to sea, I was night crew every time, so I got to hear that unspool until I could get to sleep. I’m pretty resistant to noises now.
I sleep pretty well. Fall asleep easily, stay asleep unless I have to get up to pee or my arthritis (hip, shoulder) is bothering me. But then I can usually re-position and fall back asleep quickly. Guess all the years of working weird shifts as an EMT and now ER nurse have conditioned me to sleep when the opportunity presents. I also don’t find it hard to stay up for over 24 hours or to work 16 hrs and come back on less than 8 hours rest to work another 8 or 12 hours… (back to back doubles (16 hours) are starting to wear on me though).
A very light sleeper who is annoyed at how easily awoken he is. I always said that if I was allowed one superpower, it would be the ability to fall asleep within 5 minutes and stay asleep, no matter where I’m sleeping.
I usually am asleep within 5 minutes of getting in bed. But I often wake up between 2 and 4 AM and can then sometimes lay awake for hours. Occasionally I wake because I need to visit the bathroom, but not always (I am very careful about my liquid consumption after 7PM). Melatonin usually helps me stay asleep/fall back asleep, but less now than when I began using it. A combination of melatonin and an OTC antihistamine works a treat but I am reluctant to over-use it because of side effects and concern of developing a tolerance and losing my have-to-get-a-good-night’s-sleep-tonight backup strategy.
i used to sleep like the dead. i really miss that. my partner still does and sometimes i just look at him in amazement/jealousy before getting up, knowing i won’t be able to fall back asleep. i’m not sure if something wakes me up or if i just wake up on my own.
i do get up to pee multiple times a night which is really annoying, but i’m used it. lately tho my partner’s snoring has been waking me up frequently which sucks big time. i’m not sure why that started happening since his snoring is nothing new, and i also feel like a dick waking him up since i know i snore just as bad.
Crazy for letting everyone know what kind of sleeper I am. Next you will be wanting to know what I wear to bed.
@Felton10 What do you wear to bed?
@yakkoTDI Only Walter and my wife know that.
@Felton10 @yakkoTDI Well we know, at a minimum, you wear your skin.
@Kidsandliz @yakkoTDI And Walter wears feathers.
@Felton10 I imagine bubble wrap
@Koolhandjoe Wearing only bubble wrap so when you shift positions during the night you wake yourself up by popping the bubble wrap. Hmmmmm?
@Felton10 An Idea for pajama pants
@Koolhandjoe @kidsandliz Not sure about those-no fly for those late night trips to the toilet.
@Felton10 @Koolhandjoe Well I am sure meh will sell a knife for that. (grin)
@Kidsandliz @Koolhandjoe Yeh-that is just the area I want to start cutting especially with them on
@Felton10 @Koolhandjoe Hey this is meh. You should know better than to be expecting the ideal solution… Right? ()

KuoH
@Kidsandliz @Koolhandjoe @kuoh Obviously you speak from experience so I’ll ask you. Does one size fit all?
@Felton10 @Kidsandliz @Koolhandjoe Yes, but only if your name is Yaphit.

@yakkoTDI That would be me. Can’t function with less than 8 hours.
Three Melatonin tablets, a large cup of Chamomile tea and a hot bath
@ironcheftoni I was truly surprised how well that Metr… stuff worked, AND THEN, I was BEYOND SHOCKED to see how WELL a warm glass of milked worked! Zzz…
@ironcheftoni, sex works even better.
@ironcheftoni I wish melatonin worked on me!
@ironcheftoni @PooltoyWolf I wish melatonin still worked as well on me as it did when I started taking it. (sigh)Those were the days…
@ironcheftoni @macromeh @PooltoyWolf I’m not sure if melatonin “works” but it seems to corelate with some weird dreams

Before kids, I was a deep sleeper. Needed multiple alarms to wake up, slept through big storms, could sleep any time, anywhere.
Now I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and I don’t remember the last time I had good sleep. I miss my deep sleep.
Of course right now the kids and husband are all asleep, and I’m wasting my time on my phone

I used to be a light sleeper; then I joined the Navy and they landed F-14s on the roof, so I adjusted.
@PocketBrain, when I was on a carrier I was almost right under the catapult, that was fun. Luckily it was only for 3 weeks.
@PocketBrain I’m sure it helped that you were probably dead tired. Could’ve slept standing up.

@katbyter I learned to sleep standing up in ‘A’ school.
In my own bad, deep sleep until that bump in the night. In a strange bed, anything wakes me up. Travel for work can be rough, when that was a thing.

I have literally slept thru an earthquake, but the mouse-clicking of my wife playing Farm Town will keep me awake.
