@PooltoyWolf@KyehI included the link to it from way back in 2014. It was sold at the same time as those pig-shaped docks. I wanted to buy this one, but couldn’t justify the space it takes up. It was way cool IMO, but in all honesty it probably sounded like crap. (that’s what I tell myself when the regret begins to flow )
@connorbush@Kerig3 - We actually own not one, but two of these bad boys; although one is still unopened. Got them on a sale & opened one for ourselves. The sound is absolutely awesome, but it does have a big countertop footprint. Also quite the bit of “art” conversation piece. Remote is teensy, so if you ever do get one be sure to not loose it; otherwise you will be touchy-feely to change any settings. We love ours.
This is good for the solar power and light, but definitely not the speaker. You wouldn’t expect Bose quality, but my phone speaker sounds better. That being said, I’ve used the lantern a couple of times when the power has gone out, (Michigan weather), and it’s worth it for that. Especially at this price, which is less than what I paid.
@accumulator@punkynpye I bought this unit last time, and in my rather experienced ears’ opinions, the speaker in this thing is very good for its size. I was impressed.
@accumulator@PooltoyWolf
All I can say is I disagree. Maybe I got a unit that’s the runt of the litter? I’ve literally compared it to my phone speaker, and some a blind comparison, and my phone speaker is not only louder, but less tinny sounding. But I’m still happy with it, minus the speaker, and this is a great price.
@accumulator@punkynpye I am guessing you must have got a unit with a defective speaker, if it really did sound worse than a cell phone’s built-in speaker!
@huntd@PooltoyWolf@punkynpye my little speaker arrived and I tried it out - while it’s not audiophile quality, it’s not bad at all. Might be that you got a bad one…
I bought this last time it was offered. The entire unit is very good…every one of its functions does what it’s supposed to do. The speaker sounds great for its size, the FM radio is easy to use (not a cheap scan/reset one, but an actual tuner!), the flashlight is very bright and focused, the lantern is also very bright and has a dimmer, and the solar panel actually does charge it up, with an LED to tell you when it’s pulling a charge. Also, the fold-out handle/hanging hook doubles as the FM antenna. I’m very happy with mine, and I’d highly recommend it at this price point.
@PooltoyWolf
I think the radio and the light/lantern functions are what I’m most likely to use, and I like the solar recharging thing. I will let you know!
They don’t just give the Amazon link, they went out of their way to call it Reviews (Amazon). . Loook people!! We are actually selling something people like. Loooook!
Using it for our EBikes. Long trips are always better with tunes, a flash light, a overall light to light up an area if you get a flat-locking your bike up. General light in dark areas. Win win. One for me. One for the wifey. Seems to be a solid deal short of the 2200 battery size. Generally I like 5k or higher but I’m don’t need it to juice up my phone I have a 750,000 battery on my EBike with two USB ports attached I’m fine there. I’m in for duo!
@Joedetroit Yes. They look to be water resistant. We try not to ride in heavy rain. I’m in CA so not really any worries on big rain here. But puddles and light rain in no problemo
@Joedetroit@Kidsandliz This is true. I believe they would melt in a fire. Be handy in a nice 8.1 earthquake. I’m unsure if they would help in areas like San Francisco or downtown LA agains theft, feces, liberal idiot behaviors, against car jacking or drive by shootings. But I know there’s nothing better then having a decent FM radio - charging capabilities for your cell phone - a nice light - ability to recharge via solar - and a snazzy hook to hang it when there’s zombies coming after you or stuck in a retail location in the midst of a hostage situation or down in San Diego being over run by illegal immigrants or the cartel. If your cutting your cocaine preparing for distribution through your dealer network a nice bright light will definitely help you out for sure. So many pros. And only that melting in a forest fire thing is negative really. I like it. What’s your thoughts.
@gertiestn Said the same after buying a Star Destroyer speaker that turned out to be the size of a small coffee table. Still…I kinda want to buy this one. Even though I can not imagine ever using it. I am sure I own better functioning items for every one of the functions it is trying to pull off.
Bought this last time, mostly for the solar powered FM radio. I would like it a lot if the FM mode was easier to engage. It defaults to bluetooth. I have to press the bluetooth/FM button countless times to get FM.
Frustrating.
This is the most meh thing I’ve seen here in a while… meaning it’s like all the usual shit packed into one shit. This seems good to keep in the car/boat/rv/garage/closet just in case.
@mehcuda67@warpedrotors Much better then a spork. More like a cincofork. Like if you had a lawn mower with a string trimmer mounted on the front wheels with a blower mounted in the back corner of the mower deck pointing at the ground at a 26.825 degree angle with a cup holder on the push bar. Adding a blue tooth radio with a solar panel on the top of the motor would put it right in this catagory. Just my thoughts
Got one last time (it was $5 more then!) and it’s pretty decent if you just want a small Bluetooth speaker you can keep on the back patio. Bright light and the solar will actual charge the entire unit. Haven’t used the FM much cause I usually just have podcasts going from my phone.
Okay lotsa love for this little item but I got a question… how weather resistant is it? I mean can I leave it outside on our balcony? It will be only partially out of the rain.
I bought one last time for our hurricane supply kit. I don’t see using it for anything else, but it’s a lot features I’ll be happy to have if the power is out for an extended length of time.
@fgmart I believe it. And they forgot to mention how much they saved with free shipping when complaining about how bad the service they paid nothing for was in a product review.
And these people truly wonder why they get called out for their asshattery. /smh
Bought this last round, I love it. The flashlight is nice and bright, solar charging isn’t super powerful but I leave it in a sunny-ish window and forget about it and after a few days it will have at least a partial charge.
It’s getting harder to find Bluetooth devices that also have a FM radio feature. Radio tuning isn’t super easy but if you’re like me you can mostly leave it set to the one NPR station in town and be all set.
This little thing is actually pretty awesome, sure the speaker quality is nothing mind-blowing but everything else works as intended. Great to throw in a car for an emergency or bring along on a camping trip.

Swiss Army Bluetooth Speaker FTW!!!
Remember the good old days of Speaker knives docks dot com?
@connorbush Remember just how crazy some of those docks got? I still regret missing this one, sadly they’ll never produce devices this absurd again.
@connorbush @Kerig3 I don’t remember that one!
@connorbush @Kerig3 @PooltoyWolf
I’ve never seen it before but now I want one.
@PooltoyWolf @Kyeh I included the link to it from way back in 2014. It was sold at the same time as those pig-shaped docks. I wanted to buy this one, but couldn’t justify the space it takes up. @connorbush @Kerig3 We own this. It is an art piece!
@connorbush @Kerig3 - We actually own not one, but two of these bad boys; although one is still unopened. Got them on a sale & opened one for ourselves. HIKING! VIKINGS! STRIKE KING [BRAND FISHING LURES]! AWESOME!
But does it run Doom?
Again?
Impressive to pack that many features into a product without a single one that I’d want…
No air fryer attachment? Must be last year’s model.

@punkynpye thanks -I was thinking of jumping on it but having a decent speaker is a must for me.
@accumulator @punkynpye I bought this unit last time, and in my rather experienced ears’ opinions, the speaker in this thing is very good for its size. I was impressed.
@PooltoyWolf @punkynpye aw, hell.
It’s only 20 bucks.
@accumulator @punkynpye Honestly for this price it would be hard to regret this one IMHO!
@accumulator @PooltoyWolf

@accumulator @punkynpye I am guessing you must have got a unit with a defective speaker, if it really did sound worse than a cell phone’s built-in speaker!
@accumulator @PooltoyWolf @punkynpye I am curious to know of what phone speaker you speak… of.
@accumulator @huntd @PooltoyWolf
I have an LG Stylo 6
@huntd @PooltoyWolf @punkynpye my little speaker arrived and I tried it out - while it’s not audiophile quality, it’s not bad at all. Might be that you got a bad one…
@accumulator @huntd @punkynpye Weighing in - mine is still going strong!
@Barney This image doesn’t load for me. Meh!
@PooltoyWolf Sorry.
Two of these bad boys and some velcro and you got yourself headphones.
What? Not also a vacuum?
@Kidsandliz You will think it is a vacuum because of the way it sucks.
And it can’t even make bad margaritas.

@PooltoyWolf Well, I got one, based on your recommendation. I hope I actually use it! But it does sound like it has some cool features.
@Kyeh Let me know what you think! The only thing I haven’t tried out is the microSD Card feature, just because I don’t use those for music.
@PooltoyWolf
I think the radio and the light/lantern functions are what I’m most likely to use, and I like the solar recharging thing. I will let you know!
The new Shirtless Rock Climber Bro mehme is on a roll.

@bugger Do these do okay if you get caught in a rain shower?
@Joedetroit Yes. They look to be water resistant. We try not to ride in heavy rain. I’m in CA so not really any worries on big rain here. But puddles and light rain in no problemo
@bugger @Joedetroit In CA the question would be are they fire, smoke and earthquake resistant.
@Joedetroit @Kidsandliz This is true. I believe they would melt in a fire. Be handy in a nice 8.1 earthquake. I’m unsure if they would help in areas like San Francisco or downtown LA agains theft, feces, liberal idiot behaviors, against car jacking or drive by shootings. @bugger @Joedetroit I’ll leave it to you to test that it survives all the circumstances you talk about. I am not planning to be part of that experiment
@Joedetroit @Kidsandliz Understandable. I post my findings within 3-5 years
I promised myself that I’d never buy another Bluetooth speaker, so let’s just pretend it’s a puppy, OK?
@gertiestn Said the same after buying a Star Destroyer speaker that turned out to be the size of a small coffee table. Still…I kinda want to buy this one. Even though I can not imagine ever using it. I am sure I own better functioning items for every one of the functions it is trying to pull off.
@gertiestn
You’re buying a lantern/flashlight/radio!
Does it actually work if I type slash buy? I wanna try it. /buy
@sstaver - You have to key slash commands on a separate line.

@warpedrotors So basically a Bluetooth spork?
@mehcuda67 @warpedrotors Much better then a spork. More like a cincofork. @iandidar That’s exactly what I use mine for - power outages, and it’s been great!
I’d take one in an IRK.
Someone on Amazon gave it three stars because “driver left my gate open and my dog got out took me a hour to get him back home.” Not kidding.
@fgmart I believe it. And they forgot to mention how much they saved with free shipping when complaining about how bad the service they paid nothing for was in a product review.
And these people truly wonder why they get called out for their asshattery. /smh
@fgmart I’ve seen 1-star book reviews saying “I didn’t read it, so it must not be very good”. WTF?
@fgmart @mike808
That’s in the same category with the one star reviews complaining that Amazon shipped them the wrong thing.
If there were a clothing shaver behind that speaker grill then I would take the bait
Hurrah! In the words of one Amazon reviewer, this thing is “versatisle.” As soon as I find out what that means, I probably won’t buy one.
@MrNews 4shizzle!
@MrNews
A “versatisle” would seem to be an enclave for poets and songwriters on a bit of land surrounded by lots of water.
Look up shizzle my manizle. It’s right under that in the “waz up” dictionary
Technology’s answer to the Swiss army knife.

Or one of Victorinox’s answers to the question “What are you absolutely not going to make?”

KRULL! A SKULL! BRETT HULL! AWESOME!
If water resistant, I’d buy two
@CraigDanger What did that last symbol mean? I’m thinking it may be weather resistant…
@CraigDanger @Euniceandrich
It’s water resistant. Here’s a cheat sheet.
I wasn’t in until I saw the stand is open at one end. It’s a hook. It can hang inside a tent.
I purchased two. Loved the first one! The second one, same shipment, crackles when playing music! disappointing…
