@reclaimercube Have I mentioned I got a fuko with a six pack of surprisingly nice sonic toothbrushes?
Still no pallet of Martian watches though. ( Meh, I’m going to post this every time I remember until you grant my dream of wallowing in a kiddie pool of Martian watches by sending me a pallet of watches. And a kiddie pool.)
@Mdcumming you speak the truth, i went to the full specs waiting for some reason to buy this thing and was dumbfounded by the abysmal components used. You could get as much or more power for less out of a shitty chromebook and have the benefit of more battery life and better portability.
@Tiamat114 What Acer do you have that has lasted nine years?
I’ve had my Dell Latitude almost ten years, and I bought it as a refurb. I had one Acer before that, and the build quality was garbage, so I wrote them off. Maybe I should look again.
@Limewater It was some kind of special on Newegg when I still shopped there, Aspire Model. Here’s the little sticker on it. Granted, I did have to have the backlight replaced last year cause it burnt out, but little gal chugs along just fine esp. for streaming.
Back in the day, Bea Arthur was the bees knees. She starred as a character named Maude in little shows like “All in the Family” and “Maude.” She showed America that women too could wear onions on their belts (as was the fashion of the day)
meh, should be half the price - nearly THREE years ago, I bought my daughters brand new touchscreen Toshiba Satellite laptops from Best Buy for $329 ea ($30 more) w/ i3 processor and 6gb RAM with free McAfee antivirus and 1 yr warranty…
Way overpriced. Just delivered a refurbed HP 14" i5 with 8G RAM and 180G SSD to a customer last night that was $195. The only thing this has going for it is a 15" screen, but other than that, this is a horrible price. Hell, even WITH that, it’s a horrible price. Even $100 less would be horrible.
@medz Hey, my SSD suits me and my wife just fine, pal!!! And stop looking over the bathroom stall wall while I compute… perv!
The computer that I am referring to was a refurb, just like the one I am decrying here as being a poor value, even for Meh standards. There was no option for larger drives or different screens.
Neither of these offerings are going to be powerhouses, I was trying to make the point that I felt that for under $200 I got a much more capable machine than the thing they are trying to foist here for $300.
@tnhillbillygal Woohoo!! You must be far East TN. I chose Knoxville because everybody knows where that is. How about Mountain City? Most eastern town and about 30 miles from me. We might be neighbors !!!
Be careful with refurbishments as the original manufacturer does not honor warranties (as I learned with the refurb Winix air purifier I bought from Meh). On that sale, Meh indicated that Winix honored the warranty (much like the claim here).
Bought this brand new, except with 8mb RAM, for my daughter in June. It’s Sept and it is out of return period. It takes 15 minutes to boot, then lags even using Office. HP wants to charge for anything except walking me through recovery, which I can do on my own. It scanned clean, it’s just a piece of garbage. Don’t waste your money
@DVDBZN All BS removed, using standard Windows Defender, same processor. It wasn’t fast from the get go. Removing all the crap HP loads onto their products helped a small bit, but not enough to make a difference. Her old laptop (5 years old and also a HP) with 1/2 the memory and a slower AMD processor works better and faster. I personally think it’s just this model.
