@miko1 I don't think he does. Handsets are phones or phone receivers you hold to your head with your hand. Headsets are speaker/microphone combinations that you wear on your head and don't need to use your hands with.
not usually with my mobile, but at work i use either a plantronics cordless ear thinggie, or one of the able planet headsets from meh for webex/zoom meetings. i also am lazy so i use the able planet to listen to music, or just to block out noise because we have an open floorplan
Any call over 5 minutes, I use a headset. Carry a "real" headset in my backpack, earbud microphones are generally useless.
Headsets sold for cordless home phones are surprisingly high quality for a low price (mine are panasonics). These typically have a 2.5mm jack, though. They can be used with smartphones with this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002SKAP46
At home? Never.
I work in a call center so wear one at work for about 7 hours a day. Makes me look like a dork.
only at work in the extremely rare case that I answer my phone
@Lotsofgoats pretty sure that is what voice mail is for.
@thismyusername it's what our business directory is for - if your name doesn't show up, we don't need to be talking
I think you mean handset?

Working in IT, yes, always.
With a cellphone, no. Except a hands-free device in the car.

At work I use the wireless headset. Otherwise I just use the Bluetooth in my truck.
You all realize that your earbud headphones that have a microphone are headsets right?

Wireless headset at work. That's pretty much the only time.
I used one at work once for a conference call. It was alright, but still not as good as simply not listening to the call in the first place.
Very rarely. Only when outside is very cold to use my phone.
Every day
I do occasionally when I am in a conference call. That way I can do other stuff, while I am half listening.
@conandlibrarian always gotta be ready to hear your name and ask them to repeat the question
