I may take, gee, five showers a day if it’s spring and pollen is going crazy. A local weatherguy said once, at the height of allergy season, that just standing under the shower for a few minutes can make a big difference for people who are sensitive. I’ve found that it does, or that it seems to, which is OK, too. Of course, my skin has pretty much turned into leather, but I don’t sneeze much.
It varies somewhat based on my activities and the temperature and humidity.
Generally no more than three days without a shower and I’m alone at home.
If I’m heading out or entertaining at home, I rarely go more than a full day without a shower (think Sunday late morning, Monday night, Wednesday morning, Thursday night, etc.)
In the Summer months or when I’ve done something to get sweaty, at least once and frequently twice a day.
@daleyshow this. I’m super sensitive to my own body odor, and I’ll shower as often as needed. I the winter that seems to be every 3rd day, but I still shower at least every other day.
Shameful confession: since becoming a landlord/househusband, my hygiene has gone to shit. Maybe three times a week if I’m not going anywhere farther than the end of the property. More in the summer, 'cause I don’t like feeling sweaty.
Well that I totally understand. I got my hair died one time and to keep the color In I had to not wash my hair for a week. My hair was so nasty when that week was over. I’ve been in the hospital before with tubes in me from surgery where I couldn’t shower or barely get up for a week and half, that was fun.
@chienfou I was in a rush earlier…
For those unfamiliar with the term, PRN means ‘as needed’.
A lot depends on level of activity, access to shower or alternate water source etc. (for instance, when backpacking it is pretty tough to take a shower… sometimes a swim in a lake or river/stream has to make do) On some of our ‘third world’ trips taking a daily shower was a luxury that was not always available.
@therealjrn@tinamarie1974 in the summer I’m usually sweaty outside so I’ll rinse off with some water from the pool then jump in to cool off. Then repeat the cycle… That works about 6 months out of the year
During most of the year 1 or 2 times a day based on activities. On those rare, cold days where I don’t do anything but lay one the couch I may skip a day.
On average, every other day, I guess, because I shower a couple of hours after I work out. But if I’ve been doing something that makes me sweaty/gross, I’ll shower afterwards, so more frequently in the summer than in the winter. I’ve found that, the older I get, the more sensitive my skin has become, and a warm/hot shower dries out my skin & hair a LOT, so I end up having to use lots of conditioner and body lotion. I don’t want to offend anyone else with b.o. etc, but if I’ve basically just hung out at home for most of the day (I’m retired,) I don’t feel like a daily shower is a necessity. I’m way more OCD about my clothes - if I’ve worn something other than jeans for more than 30 minutes, it goes into the laundry basket at night!!
I Shower every other day in winter because it dries me out if I do everyday. More in the summer. I also shower with an antibacterial soap 1-2 times per week, it’s mild and it prevents my skin from breaking out due to sweat and bacteria.
Every day minimum but sometimes twice a day if I mow the lawn or do other sweaty tasks around the house.
What does this question say about what Meh thinks of their mehtizens??
@shahnm they have a lead on a few pallets of some soap product and are doing market research.
depends how dirty i get. usually every day. i’ll go 3 days without if im not doin much tho
A daily shower is a chore. A hot bath is a weekly luxury.
@hchavers A bath is what an American takes once a day.
A baaaaath is what an Englishman takes once a week.

@gertiestn Is it the shower getting you clean or the steam and humidity getting into your sinuses?

1-3 times a day but 1 daily shower is my minimum.
Ok, confession; sometimes I miss a day. I still put on fresh skivvies though.
@PocketBrain My undies claim they have ‘stay-new technology.’ This means I never have to worry about washing them; right?
@PocketBrain @TheCO2 do you use a bidet?
@PocketBrain @TheCO2
@PocketBrain @ThatsHeadly I go outside naked and stand over the sprinkler. Does that count?
@tinamarie1974 I’m too sexy for my skivies!
@TheCO2 me too!
/youtube I’m too sexy
@tinamarie1974 I’m not even going to ask. 🥰
Also, I use to love that song.
@TheCO2

@PocketBrain @TheCO2 as long as you get all the gunk out of your crevices…
@ThatsHeadly Are you calling me fat?
@tinamarie1974 I don’t buy that, for a second.
That’s the most adorable gif.
@TheCO2 No, everyone has crevices.
@TheCO2 I liked it as well. And IRL, yup it is accurate
Why, you smell something? Maybe it’s you!
What makes you think I take a shower?
At least one a day. More often than not, twice a day. I need a shower to wake up and prefer hitting the sheets clean.
At least once a day in Summer, but not in Winter, mostly because my skin gets so dry.
@daleyshow this. I’m super sensitive to my own body odor, and I’ll shower as often as needed. I the winter that seems to be every 3rd day, but I still shower at least every other day.
Twice a day
Meh, you seem to want to know a lot about what I do in the bathroom lately.
Usually twice a day. Once when I wake up and then again before bed so that I may endear myself to my wife for marital activity.
Shameful confession: since becoming a landlord/househusband, my hygiene has gone to shit. Maybe three times a week if I’m not going anywhere farther than the end of the property. More in the summer, 'cause I don’t like feeling sweaty.
Unless your old I hope you shower once a day. What kind of question is this lol
@star2236 I have eczema. A doctor told me not to shower everyday unless I was sweating. It’s terrible for my skin.
@RiotDemon @star2236 amen sister
Well that I totally understand. I got my hair died one time and to keep the color In I had to not wash my hair for a week. My hair was so nasty when that week was over. @star2236 your hair died? Not sure what to think about that

@chienfou I’m surprised at the number of BID and TID answers. These people must be near a shower a lot.
@chienfou @therealjrn me too! I would say in the summer it is BID fairly regularly, as workouts make me a hot sweaty mess. Winter is a different story.
@therealjrn @tinamarie1974 in the summer I’m usually sweaty outside so I’ll rinse off with some water from the pool then jump in to cool off. Then repeat the cycle… That works about 6 months out of the year
@chienfou @therealjrn now that sounds like a lovely solution
/giphy jealous
@chienfou @tinamarie1974 It probably at least smells like one!
Depends on how sweaty I get. About 3 times a week. MWF. I sit in my filth on the weekend.
During most of the year 1 or 2 times a day based on activities. On those rare, cold days where I don’t do anything but lay one the couch I may skip a day.
