It’s seasonal. Like many central coast Californians, we have an older house with barely adequate heating and no AC, single pane windows, ill-fitting doors and that is insulated with old newspapers and wasp nests, so we are very much one with the outside temps.
So winter, very/painfully hot showers to achieve upon exiting that sauna-like aura of warmth allowing one to scoot to the bedroom to swath with thermals and flannels, and in summer to have cool/warm showers on the dozen or so 90+ days.
And yes, I know it’s not Texas/Florida or Minnesota/Upstate NY, and having grown up in northern Wisconsin I know, it’s really just like camping out year-long. So a good shower is vital.
Pretty hot, but my dessicated winter skin prefers warm, unfortunately. I do crank the heat up to rinse all the product out of my hair that’s required to allow me to walk around in “civilized” society. Before product:
@ircon96 I like hot but the stuff I use in my hair to tint it goofy colors (currently “merlot”) doesn’t last if the water’s too hot, so I wash my hair with warm and then finish up below the neck with hot.
@Kyeh Yeah, very understandable, you need to make that stuff last as long as possible, or it almost becomes a full-time job that you have to pay for, to boot. Ugh. So, merlot, huh? Nice–very in sync with the season!
Well … when it’s below freezing day after day a nice hot shower is great. But in summer when it is in the 90s a refreshing cool shower really fits the bill!
Hot enough that I come out looking like a lobster.
@yakkoTDI
@yakkoTDI THIS!!!
COLD!
just kidding i’m not a psycho
@spacemart Well, I am. In the morning. Just a couple of minutes. Evening gets a hot shower.
@spacemart yep it sure sounds like it.

@stolicat I have a friend who live in N Wisconsin across the street from Lake Superior.
@kittykat9180 @stolicat Must be tough on the old

Hot enough that the hot water lasts at least 20 minutes.
We get along OK, but it’s not like we’d go out for drinks and dinner or anything.
Two girls at once…
/kidding I agree with Seinfeld on this, I don’t want to start wearing robes.
@OnionSoup What’s that old joke?
