I actually do floss. I stopped smoking many years ago and the Reach Flosser was one of my primary fiddlers to keep my mind/hands off smoking. Still use it to this day.
@2many2no I am an embarrasing number of years since my last dentist visit. Not intentional, just lazy.
I haven’t had any problems with my teeth so keep forgetting to book an appointment. My teeth did hurt a lot more back when I made regular dentist appointments.
I do intend to book an appointment soon though. Not because I have problems, but because it’s been so long.
I floss or use an irrigator like the one for sale today pretty much every night. I did that even during the 20 years or so that I avoided going to the dentist.
STORY TIME: One of my friends was going to school for dentistry and needed people to come in for some practicing. Well I went in last year and they cleaned my teeth and did an x-ray. Now, I’ve always been told that I don’t need my wisdom teeth removed. But when my x-rays came back, her mentor told me I should get them taken out. I explained that I had always been told I could keep them. He seemed concerned, and called over yet another dentist and they all started looking at my x-rays. Turns out I had not 4, but 5 wisdom teeth. And the 5th one was way up there and it looked like it could grow upwards into my head rather than down into my mouth. So, to wrap it up, I had all 5 taken out at once with just some laughing gas and novacaine even though they had to dig for that last one. Thank you for listening.
At semi-annual checkups, my dentist would lobby hard for me to floss more (or at all). This went on for years until I finally got the message (slow on the uptake). Now I am a fanatical flosser, no cavities for years, no more bleeding gums and at checkups the hygienist complements me on my home care.
I love the soft Picks
I tell the truth.

My teeth don’t hurt, so I don’t go to the dentist. The first thing they’ll do is make them hurt.
Uh… fuck that.

But… I do floss… I’m a regular Flossy McFlossface.
@awk My mouth doesn’t feel right if I don’t floss.
I floss.
@eonfifty I do too! There are literally dozens of us!
I just put $16,000 into dental work. Quit smoking 17 years ago, but had heavily smoked for 40 years.
@pooflady yikes on the cost!
I say no. I use interdental brushes instead.
What the hell are these options? We’re not all jack-o-lantern-faced yokels who shun modern dentistry. 🦷
Finger nails count as floss, so I don’t really lie.
I floss and usually waterpik as well.
DID MY DENTIST PUT YOU UP TO THIS QUESTION?
My cleaning appointment from April got rescheduled to today. I need to know how deep this goes.
@j2 He’s found you. You in for it when you go in.

I floss. Keeping my choppers healthy is important
I floss because if I don’t, my gums kill.
Where is the option that I DO floss? I actually love flossing
No option for those who actually do floss regularly?

I say yes, because I floss. My teeth are my 2nd best asset. First being my boobs.

Dentist?
Interesting question. To be honest (at least here), I just lie and blame all the dental floss quality or flossers.
Depending on the age of the patient, the answer may not be what they were expecting.

Most of the time, the dentist just remarks on how little they need to do, and apparently assumes that I floss regularly.
