@hchavers I am supremely fortunate in that I have only one day a week with no alarm, but that’s entirely by choice. Three days a week of art classes, two of exercise classes, and one of doggie play date. Soon my last sleep late day will be taken by volunteering as a pet therapy team. My afternoons are for maximizing my MoviePass, working on art at home, and reading. Just got home ftom ceramics class with a box of bisque ware to glaze, trying yo decide if I shoukd work on it this afternoon or relax.
I selected “hobbies” as my method of recharge, but some days I feel like that’s what I need to recharge from.
I enjoy the hobby of amateur radio. Mostly because it lets me tinker, and I love to tinker. I also do search and rescue, but there are times where that takes more out than it puts back in.
Coffee. LOTS, and LOTS of coffeeeeeee!
And, Gramps’ chair. A big, overstuffed recliner reserved for me, that has to be vacated when I enter the room. Thems the rules when Grammy bought the chair for me. There’s a good reason, I have severe spine problems, past major surgery and severe degenerative disease, and the chair is one of the very few places where I can be somewhat comfortable for a while. I do share it with our youngest grandson, he’s 9 months old, and loves to chill with Gramps.
I’ve found that when I eat better, exercise daily, sleep a lot, avoid alcohol, socialize a little, and don’t work too hard, I start to feel like a completely different person after a few days.
Then I can do something as high-minded as “recharging”, or “pursuing hobbies” or “being alive”.
But short of that, I mostly wake up tired, come home potato, and accidentally forget to go to bed while in a sleep deprived haze. And don’t do much of anything.
If it’s warm enough out, I usually unwind by building or maintaining something around the property.
It’s cold out now, though, so my current project is a guitar rebuild. I started with a Stratocaster-style body I found in a dumpster a few years ago. The final product will be converted for left-handed use, with repositioned pots and output jack, two pickups, a hardtail bridge, a Telecaster neck, and Gibson-style hardware. I’m calling it the Frankencaster.
I don’t. I pretty much run at 3% all the time nowadays.
@Pony this is my answer too.
I don’t recharge, I’ll just die at some point and they’ll toss me out.
@awk Are you at least recyclable?
@shahnm nope, hazardous waste
@awk just think how much longer you could have lasted if they put in the fridge

Does napping count as spuddery?
@katbyter As an international authority on spuddery, I’ll have to say Hell Yes.
/giphy hell yes
Long phone call with an old buddy.
I plug the device into an appropriate charger. How the hell else would you recharge?

One morning a week has no alarm clock. I so look forward to those mornings, and then they are gone.
Coffee. Yes, that’s it. Coffee is how I (re)charge for the day.

@fuzzmanmatt I like you
How did you find out that some of us use the energy of yellow suns?
People. Turns out I’m an extrovert; what a twist!
BEER!
/giphy BEER
Camping and hiking every month, yes outdoors even in the winter.
@Oldelvis
/giphy what the hell is wrong with you?
At least 5-6 hours of sleep a night, otherwise I’m grumpy.
My wife says I’m grumpy all the time.
How is “retail therapy” not on the list?
Coffee. LOTS, and LOTS of coffeeeeeee!

I sit in the sun, read John Grisham or similar stories, sweet tea nearby, classic rock in the background. Alone. Absolutely, Alone.
I’m happy (and not particularly surprised) that my fellow Mehricans are as couch spuddy as myself.
I sleep. Every night. Sometimes during the day as well.
I’m an extrovert, so people events.

The correct answer is coffee and my nook
Either that or killing something in some evil computer game.

Travel and outdoor activity can help, but mostly loud music
I’ve been trying to recharge for about ten years now and I’m not having any luck.
