Honestly, I can see the NFL claiming copyright infringement and shutting this one down. I hope not because I rather like it, but it's just the kind of dick move they'd make
I really enjoy watching football again after taking a hiatus from caring for a good long while. It was especially fun for me watching the Chargers beat the Cowboys last season at a sports bar here in Texas, surprisingly I did not get shot!
As a Chargers fan this shirt sums it up pretty well for me, though I am very hopeful for the post Norv/AJ era.
I have Detroit Lions season tickets. I have been alive for one playoff win, though I was too young to remember it. At least now the team has someone to blame...
@marklog at least you can get season tickets... The wait list for the Packers is literally 30 years long. I'm assuming that by then there will be major changes and probably won't even worth watching anymore.
Sorry guys, don't like the shirt. Went to the first preseason game Friday and pray I can get tickets for more games this season. If I can't, my neighborhood bar has the NFL ticket and my college team moved to the ACC last year so I can now see them play on TV in NC.
Now if you put that on a MLB, NBA or NHL shirt, no problem. Just don't mess with my football....
@jqubed Guess my reply was misleading. I like baseball and hockey but prefer to watch them in person. College basketball, no problem. Had season tickets to the original Hornets. That was too much fun.
We spend a stupid amount of money to get the Season Ticket thingy from Direct TV. It is soooo worth it! This household goes into NFL mode with the first pre-season game of the year, and stays there until the Super Bowl. We have 3 TVs rocking football on Sundays. We are fans of several teams but mostly we enjoy hating the Cowboys and the Pats. (Sorry Texas guys, but you know, Jerry Jones and all that?)
@Teripie I'd definitely get the Sunday Ticket if I lived outside my team's designated market. I lived in New York one year and only saw one Panthers game during the regular season, plus their playoff games (that was the year they lost the Super Bowl to those cheating Patriots).
I definitely want that shirt. Too often I get trapped in college football conversations at my office, and stand there mute, secretly pleased to have graduated from 2 universities without football programs.
football... only played in US, leaves players dumber then before , giant time suck, keeps people at bay with "their" team instead of "their" US problems, makes networks/owners/top players good money.
I would like to see soccer overtake it in the US. I don't watch that either, though.
@Catdad Well my nephews are playing high school football here in the midwest. I see them learning (and practicing) teamwork, commitment, physical fitness, discipline, respect, family, faith, pride, problem solving,and increased self-esteem. I completely disagree with everything you stated.
@Catdadsoccer head injuries, mostly from heading the ball, are under scrutiny as well. Boxing has long had rules in place to limit head trauma and football has introduced new rules to protect players at all levels.
@mwarren I've read that boxing rules are pretty bad for head trauma because boxers have the count to get up and get rocked again even though their brains are already scrambled. Agree with the rest of your points though.
@Teripie Actually, Rugby's been starting to pay attention more to head trauma as well. It doesn't seem to be as big of a problem as gridiron football, but it's still a concern.
As for the shirt, IMO you could apply 'meh' to any professional sport league/logos and I wouldn't have a problem with it. I recognize the extraordinary athletic accomplishments of todays professional athletes but I think the big business has tarnished the true heart of organized professional sports.
Love it. Fittingly, one of the first things I watched on the giant TV Meh was kind enough to include in my Fuku was our first preseason football game. Was pretty damn impressive.
I'm more into Meh-jor League Baseball, myself.
Honestly, I can see the NFL claiming copyright infringement and shutting this one down. I hope not because I rather like it, but it's just the kind of dick move they'd make
I love it!

@JonT Go Bolts!
@JonT I'm always happy to see the Cowboys lose.
Futbol is great. I love futbol.
I have Detroit Lions season tickets. I have been alive for one playoff win, though I was too young to remember it. At least now the team has someone to blame...
@marklog I'm so sorry. At least you don't have Browns season tickets.
@JonT I don't, but I just saw Manziel do a decent job tearing up our third stringers. He wasn't half bad.
@marklog I have been to a couple Lions games at the old field. Cousins live up your way and got us tickets for Packers games.
@marklog at least you can get season tickets... The wait list for the Packers is literally 30 years long. I'm assuming that by then there will be major changes and probably won't even worth watching anymore.
@marklog Detroit picked up a couple defensive draft picks the last two years that I am hoping do well for them!
@marklog Well I guess I know who to blame if the Lions don't have a winning season.
@JonT woah, hold on there buddy. At least we're not Detroit.

@maggie NHL? You haven't become a Hurricanes fan? You should go to a game sometime.
@jqubed Guess my reply was misleading. I like baseball and hockey but prefer to watch them in person. College basketball, no problem. Had season tickets to the original Hornets. That was too much fun.

@Teripie it's ok. As a Pats fan, we understand. Success breeds contempt.
@Teripie It's totally fine to hate the Pats.
@Teripie I'd definitely get the Sunday Ticket if I lived outside my team's designated market. I lived in New York one year and only saw one Panthers game during the regular season, plus their playoff games (that was the year they lost the Super Bowl to those cheating Patriots).
@jqubed I ain't taking the bait. :D

Didn't Germany recently defeat Argentina?
Obligatory clarification re: :
@mwarren Whatever.......(insert smiley face here)
@mwarren going to be asking around the office if people caught last night's handegg game now.
@mwarren The arrow points to his elbow, not his hand. I'm not sure I can trust this infographic.
@mwarren Counterpoint:
@Moose footegg!
@mwarren that is what i say! foot ball do not use foot.
@Moose meh; T.J. Conley's kicking an egg that he just dropped from his hands. Maybe a place kicker photo next?
@mwarren Do you also consider Rugby and Aussie Rules to be not football?

@Catdad Man I bet you're a riot at parties.
@Moose A nice reply there. You get a +1 from me.
@Catdad soccer head injuries, mostly from heading the ball, are under scrutiny as well. Boxing has long had rules in place to limit head trauma and football has introduced new rules to protect players at all levels.

@jimmyd103 great for them! @Moose yes you are correct
@Catdad You'd like to see soccer overtake, so that everything can continue as you said for gridiron football but for association football instead?
@jqubed yes, include helmets, pads and use of hands if you like too!
@Catdad You want to avoid head injuries? Get rid of that damn helmet. It's a weapon. Look at rugby, no helmets no head trauma.
@Teripie Actually, Rugby's been starting to pay attention more to head trauma as well. It doesn't seem to be as big of a problem as gridiron football, but it's still a concern.
@jqubed The helmet in American football has become a weapon on the field.

I am ready for some.
This shirt precisely describes my attitude about professional sports. Meh. Take it or leave it.
Love it. Fittingly, one of the first things I watched on the giant TV Meh was kind enough to include in my Fuku was our first preseason football game. Was pretty damn impressive.
Now's your chance, it's the shirt of the day...
