Hoverboard Replacement Parts

MEH!
My red hoverboard from July is pretty scratched up from rolling over on pavement. Also, I finally took it apart to retrieve the screw that was bouncing around inside since I first received and opened it Remember this post
Also, It seems all the plastic standoffs on one side are broken so it’s basically being held together with a wish and dream.

Any chance you can secure a batch of replacement plastic shells for these hoverboards?

Perhaps your can order a custom batch of purple scooters and/or outer shell replacements? I bet you’d find the clientèle to buy a purple product…

Since there are so many brands/versions of these out there it could be hard to find the exact parts… if you still have the bits of standoffs, etc 5 minute epoxy or jb weld might be your best bet.

Fill your gouges with baking soda and super glue, then sand it and use purple krylon for plastic spray paint. Voila, custom hoverboard!

  At first i had the bs/superglue stuck in with the epoxy, then i thought that’s more like a filler, so i moved it. I wasn’t actually planning on saying how to completely redo the thing at first.

- @djslack It shouldn’t be that hard-- Meh could conceivably order 50 replacement shells for these from the fab in China when they place the next order for 500 “purple” hoverboards. Further, this might address problems with things damaged in shipping for those of us that can spend 10 minutes with a screwdriver replacing a plastic shell.
  
  In my July hoverboard, The standoffs were reduced to dust and small pieces-- Each half still has the 4 screws holding plastic to plastic, but on one side, the 4-6 ‘middle’ screws that go into the metal frame don’t make contact with the shell anymore.
  
  Unfortunately, I just received a brand new one from MorningSave that was damaged in shipping and has a big chunk broken off. It’s kind of a shame to send the whole thing back and forth when it really just needs a $2 piece of plastic.
