@boygenius1991 I own one as well. I paid a little over 100 i believe for it and i bought it last year from Fry’s electronics. I like it. I sometimes forget that i have it, but when i do use it I always tell myself I need to use it more. I would say get it. At this price it’s a steal.
I also own the Homedics neck massager with heat and it is good also. I purchased it the same day that I bought this item. It is also a good product.
@boygenius1991 I own one of these, though mine doesn’t have the heat functionality. It’s decent. Doesn’t replace a human masseuse by any stretch, but it definitely will give you a deep massage if you want one. The harder you lean back on it, the harder the massage (which is why I’m a little confused by people who say it’s too hard - just lean forward a bit then).
@warpedrotors i have an extension for chrome that disables html5 autoplay, which i had to turn off to see the gifs. before i read this comment i had just assumed they were regular still images. (shown in specs.)
These things make too much noise and actually are uncomfortable to keep in the chair all day. Might be okay for a couple minutes a day but not to keep connected all the time.
@InnocuousFarmer I’ve been doing that for years with the smaller version of these that’s more targeted for lumbar. Sometimes it’s the only thing that works.
I got a similar model from Macy’s on clearance a couple weeks ago for about $30. Works good, buy only only for a few minutes at a time. Then it gets a bit uncomfortable.
I love good finger pressure that makes something else HARDER! “IT IS A VERY INTENSE MASSAGE. YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT!” Oh, I can handle it, yes I can.
I have an older version of this, but without the heat. One nice feature mine has is a leather-like (vegan leather?) flap that you can flip over the back to attenuate the intensity. Took me a while to build up to the full blast without the flap - it is pretty intense. It does work the kinks out of your back, though. You could probably do something similar with a heavy towel.
I have this thing, or a very very very similar version, and it’s bullshit. I’m only about 65" tall and the upper end of it MIGHT reach my shoulder blades. Trying to hunch down in the chair is desperately uncomfortable. Trying to hoik the machine up higher in the chair doesn’t work, because it’s not designed for it and just falls back down. Also, it’s thick enough to be obtrusive in all the office chairs I have tried, including an Aeron, a deep Hon task chair, and some random Office Depot numbers.
It also doesn’t work in the car, both because it’s thick and also because it has a rigid shell that doesn’t curve like a car seat. Not that anyone ever claimed it would work in the car – just mentioning it because I unreasonably expected it to.
It’s not worth putting on eBay, so it sits in the garage waiting for me to rip it apart and see if I can make something useful out of it.
i don’t want this, but i skipped right to the last photo knowing it had to be something pretty good. i was not disappointed. i also enjoyed the meh button today.
I just gave mine away to friends who loved it when they came to visit and was looking to get a replacement and lo and behold, here it is! Love these things, sure they are intense but if you have a knotted up back like i do these things are a life saver.
" a model number with no organic search results but three paid ads". This is no longer true. Because you said it. But if you didn’t say it, it would be true.

Will this help me knead pizza dough?
@awk if it doesn’t then it’s a deal breaker I would say
@awk I ALWAYS knead pizza dough…and sauce, cheese, pepperoni, banana peppers, black olives…
is this thing any good? it’s scary as hell. also can I put it on a herman-miller aeron chair?
@boygenius1991 We’ve had one for a couple years, it’s actually pretty nice. Not amazing, but pleasant

The gifs for the massage action are freaking me out.
@Thumperchick Agreed, pure evil exists inside those chairs and it clearly wants to escape.
@Thumperchick My giffer must be broken. I don’t even see the gifs.

@warpedrotors specs post.

@cengland0 Agreed!
So good!!
Will this do happy ending?
Just imagine that some nasty, greasy, 400-pound pervert had this right before you did. Pretty likely, I’ll bet.
@jaburg On the plus side, their body grease probably kept the mechanism well-lubricated.
@jaburg How do you know they were greasy? Ya know what… I don’t want to know.
@jaburg Hence the Ho medics name.
No thanks for the massage with terminator heels digging into your back. I’d take a bidet over this any day
@SoftAsFur How about a shiatsu bidet?
@SoftAsFur you’d rather have a bidet spraying water on your back?
I want so much to have fewer material possessions. Objects are hard to get rid of.
But I also want to put one of these on the floor and grind my back into it. Hmmm…
@InnocuousFarmer I’ve been doing that for years with the smaller version of these that’s more targeted for lumbar. Sometimes it’s the only thing that works.

That action looks postitively painful. No doubt what some folks want.
Intense … might make you pee … Refurbished …
I suppose those details are better than “seat backed with feet and dildos”.
@JT954 well when you put it that way…
/buy
… hmm. Why does that never work.
@InnocuousFarmer you can’t use the /buy option in a reply.
I love good finger pressure that makes something else HARDER! “IT IS A VERY INTENSE MASSAGE. YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT!” Oh, I can handle it, yes I can.
Did anyone else read the title as homicide triple shiatsu…?
@elimanningface You probably want to turn down the intensity before that point.
@elimanningface now that’s some finger pressure!
@djslack

Based upon what others are saying meh no --guess it rubs ( massages) people the wrong way

@whogots You would probably appreciate the HoMedics MCS-490H
@whogots You had me at “desperately uncomfortable.” Definitely NOT buying. Thanks.
@donrull Thanks for the suggestion! I picked up a Human Touch HT135 on Craigslist and never looked back.
I have just hung onto the stupid Homedics machine out of a pie-in-the-sky wish to make something customized for my specific issues.
My back may be stiff but it’s my neck and shoulders that really need a massage.
US Voltage only. I had to go elsewhere to find that out. I had hoped that “see more product specs” would reveal that, but no.
That website they found, in the description, hurt my eyes. 1998 forgot it’s website.
Wait, the Asian guy is the tall one? Thanks for messing up the stereotypes guys.
@cinoclav haha that’s me and I’m the tallest at Mediocre. How is that for stereotypes?
@jk24 Please tell us you’re really good at math. I’ve had enough political correctness today!
I lay these on the floor and lay on top of them…but I love deep pressure!
Bought one of these several years ago and returned it. Not really into the BDSM scene.

Saw Homedics and thought it was homicides…
@ThomasF $59 would be a really good deal on a homicide.
