Oddly enough, after 20+ years in the Army, camping out has completely lost its appeal for me. Go figure.
I live close to a state park in a national forest which is a popular "camping" site. The most popular "camping spots" are nice rustic log cabins. With full modern kitchens, WiFi, and decks with hot tubs. These are booked solid 1-2 years in advance. Very popular.
Then there are "normal" camping spots which will accommodate a small mobile home-sized camper. Electricity, water, showers and toilets. And for the rare folks who actually like camping, there are sites only available by hiking up winding trails for a few miles to isolated spots with a view. Strangely, some of these always seem to be available year-round even during the busiest seasons.
@rockblossom I have to admit that as I have gotten older, I now consider water and toilets as "necessities". Showers are a nice to have and electricity is still cheating.
where? Stepping out of the air-conditioned comfort of my car or home invokes that scene in Chronicles of Riddick, where that guy is trapped outside when the sun comes up and he's instantaneously charred to a cinder.
The best parts about camping are s'mores and enjoying drinks around a fire with friends. So we put a fire pit in our back yard and still get to sleep inside, without the bugs and stank.
Sadly I agree with Glen on this one...
Glen, you are
uuuuuuuuuggggh
Sadly, I'm a yuppie. :-( But then again I want to go camping... But haven't in years....
I'm camping with the Cub Scouts this weekend!!
@Pamtha May the weather fairies be kind to you.
@sammydog01 Cancelled - storms and hail. Such sadness, but HEY we are going to tie dye today instead
But, s'mores!
@sammydog01 s'mores are great, and if they happen in the backyard in the fire pit, I still get a hot shower and an indoor bed at night!
@mehdaf Food tastes better with traces of dirt and grit. Scientific fact.
@sammydog01 my backyard has that stuff
@sammydog01 fire toasted blackened marshmallows! /drooooooooool
I like camping if i can sleep up off the ground, in a cabin or something.
Sidenote, the neckline on the "meh" shirt...ugh.

@matthew Is that MEH shirt a rarely-worn costume shirt...or a heavily worn and stained undershirt that just happens to get exposed on Glen's videos?
"It's getting so nice out..."
where?

@PocketBrain the accurate answer is Seattle, however it's nice in the Midwest and East too.
@mehdaf Well, it's like this in Georgia:

Having spent a month in a tent a couple of summers ago... I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I had the chance.
at first glance i thought the thread was about Glenn Campling... Bauhaus roadie and unheralded third member of Tones On Tail.
