if the link goes straight to the image and is a .jpg, .png, bmp etc you can just paste it into the comment box.
You can test if it does that by just copying the image link and pasting it into a new window. If it goes to the image you are good. If it doesn’t… well then something is wrong.
If you post it and it doesn’t work, you can always delete your post and nobody only those that see it in the brief time it is up will be the wiser.
I wouldn’t link to the image in Google Photos, it might show good for you since you’re logged into that account but others won’t be able to see it.
You can upload it directly to Meh, just press the icon below the comment box that looks like a couple mountains and a moon. If you’re on a mobile device you may need to have your device held sideways before you click into the comment box to get the icons to show.
Question for the Meh techies: When we upload an image, does Meh strip the identifying geotag and other metadata from the image? I would hope so.
Most people taking pics with their phones have the phone’s gps geotagging every pic you take. So uploading it likely also discloses your exact location (like your home).
ProTip: Screenshots don’t have geotagging. So view the photo in the photo app, screenshot it, and upload the screenshot.
Google makes Android and their camera apps go through a bunch of hoops to really turn off geotagging. It is also an all or nothing kind of toggle, so it isn’t like you can easily turn it off or on for every now and then photos, or to strip geotagging and camera metadata when you upload/share a pic.
Obviously social media platforms have every interest in hoovering up every speck of data about you and none in protecting your privacy or even giving you the tools to decide. Instead you get a non-negotiable “take it or leave it” choice.
On desktop, I use Snipping Tool to save a screen shot of Google Photos website and upload that to Meh. No giant images needed in the forum.
On phone, turn sideways only to hit the image button, then go back to portrait to select the image and finish the post. (Otherwise the keyboard covers the screen and I can’t see what I’m doing.)

@Ignorant You can download the image from your google account and then upload it to Meh.
@mike808 yes I’m aware. I said not to link to the image in Google.

Any clarity, Meh people?
