That’s often accurate for those who have seldom scored one. With the exception of the last batch, the IRKs of 2022-2023 (and January 2024) were so often lackluster that many had become cynical, acting as a brake on the optimism.
I’m still undecided about just how responsible I want to be in disposing of the case of one-TrackR packs I received, among other things.
@narfcake The most polite response I can provide to that article is Fuck That Shit. If HP wants to stick a printer in here that they monitor, THEY can pay ME $36 a month.
@salvaje
Those were the days… We had friends who had just blended their family so they had like 9 people on the house to feed. They were super happy to have pounds and pounds of penne to feed everybody
I’m not going to lie, my first IRK I was super excited, I could pretty much use EVERYTHING in it!!! Except a 1/2 a pair or pajamas… I mean really!!! But I waited a long time to get another feeling this has got to be some kinda trick… why would I regret this??? I could never be fast enough to get another, so maybe it’s not a trick and it’s just a name… so I tried as hard as I could to get another… and bam then it happened I got another…. And boy did I get another…. Full of tracker things, and screen protectors for a phone I don’t own, MacBook covers, craft paint, and hand sanitizer…. Ohhhhh how I wish I hadn’t tried so hard…. So I figured it was a fluke, I tried again a few months later… and it was easier to get them the first 2, but not much has changed, still the same screen protectors, trackers,( this time a whole case) another Mac Pro case, more hand sanitizer, but… wait… what is this a hand immersion blender…. I was going to buy one of these, and wait… a tacklife jump starter new unwrapped just like the one I bought on here a few months ago and my son said he wishes he got one…. Hummmmm so now I’m thinking… my first IRK was spectacular, no lie hundreds of dollars worth of great stuff I could and would use, and did and have used…. My second… total regret… worst purchase of my life oh wait a total regret… but my third has given new life to the meaning “ hit or miss” and I have pondered the question… “ would I do it again ?” And simply put… hell yeah, I’m a gambler, give me a dollar, I’ll buy a scratch ticket for my retirement fund, so why not spend $50 and possibly get nothing…. Or…. Something I never knew I wanted until I got it!!!
Ps… I’m still eating the pasta I got!!! Another great investment!
Stage one:
This is so cool. Glued to screen trying to beat out the pros who have tricks to get them and hoping to miss clicking bicycles were you also have to click, unbeknownst to me initially, a motorcycle. Then usually getting to the reloading green bar of death or seeing SOLD OUT .
Stage two:
Well that one was worth $5. I’ll try again - repeat of Stage one hoping to get those who got them every time to divulge their tricks. Then get trash. Try again, get a joke one. Try again. Have to turn down a pallet of broken TV’s as no where to put a pallet out of the rain and the person who got that made 3 working TV’s out of them. Try again… hmm this seems hit or miss for anything good. Rinse and repeat but the games online those days are fun and prizes can be fukos and to a lessor extent later then irks.
Stage three:
Price goes up. quality and chance of a decent one goes down… chance to get one goes down due to offering fewer of them in one offering (and so wishing for a meh glitch so I might get lucky) and mostly no longer offering them during VMP/member hour. Maybe I need to rethink this.
Stage four:
Join the whining on the forums about price increases, now having to buy a lot of crap that we didn’t want the first time around to get one, and low quality/garbage of most of them with fewer “winners”.
Stage five:
Meh seems to have listened to at least some of the repeated complaints and now offers a few random ones which perks people up and there is more “good” stuff in at least some of them.
Stage six:
This chapter hasn’t been written yet. Taps foot impatiently. Hope it includes fun/silly activities again with irks as prizes.

@werehatrack Well it could be worse. I’ve donated HP printers to thift stores before. Granted, it’s not their latest level of hell …

I remember back when you could see the weight in the tracking info. Twenty pounds- robot vacuum or stack of books?
@sammydog01 constantly checking for it to be updated from 1lb 1x1x1’ box
@sammydog01 Or that one time we were sending folks unsolicited cases of our dry Noods. PastaDrop was a great time to be around
@salvaje I’m short on the kind of friends that would understand pasta drop so I’m still eating quarantine spaghetti.

@guyfromhawthorn @Kyeh @salvaje @sammydog01
Am I the only one who was guessing what kind of pasta she was imitating?
On the 2nd time around I checked my answers and I even got em’ all correct!
Lol

@Lynnerizer Good for you! She actually tried out for Britain’s Got Talent and got buzzed off by all 4 judges. I think she’s funny, though.

@unksol I see what you did there.
@Thumperchick @unksol
Would you please help out a fellow Mehtizen here?
Call me dumb… call me slow… What do you see they just did there?
@Lynnerizer @Thumperchick @unksol
@Lynnerizer @narfcake @unksol Here’s the original thread that goes with the above photo.
But the thread that started that topic was here.
@Lynnerizer @narfcake @Thumperchick @unksol
Mister @BillLehecka, I truly love that photograph.
Damn, didn’t realize this was still a thing.
FYI, I sold the house, dropped 200 pounds, and got married. Sorry to disappoint everyone!
@BillLehecka I’m happy to hear you’re doing so well!
@BillLehecka
/giphy hi
@BillLehecka Congratulations, glad your life is going well, but that photo is still a classic, forever!
@BillLehecka
Sounds most excellent!
@BillLehecka I don’t think that disappoints anyone in the least. I could use some of your effort/luck/progress. Some things are just iconic lol.
Apologies if that dug up something
I haven’t bought one in a while or even looked. I’ve found a new outlet for buying stupid stuff. - the Whatnot app
Was cool to score one in a ce phone maybe 7-9 years ago.
Now kinda Meh. If I didn’t have the tat I wouldn’t bother trying.
The regret has been so great lately, that I’m not even motivated enough to take a photo of it sometimes.
