Have you been "brushed"?
11Today I got a notice a package would be delivered from Amazon by the USPS(fyi the USPS will email you scans of your mail and when it’s going to be delivered for free. If you’re into that. https://www.usps.com/manage/informed-delivery.htm)
Except I had not ordered anything to be delivered today.
What showed up was this.
https://www.amazon.com/BenBen-Pre-Assembled-Montessori-Activities-Educational/dp/B0C8MTVZHP
There are no toddlers here. It’s already under review by Amazon. Then I remembered these pacifiers and socks from last year I thought was a glitch.
Apparently sellers are posting products, then fake accounts and mailing them out so they can post fake verified purchased reviews. If you get unsolicited junk from Amazon you can report it from the link in here.

Thanks for the heads up! At first I thought they were getting the name and address from Amazon somehow but the Amazon link says: “publicly available names and addresses”.
Love informed delivery! Sometimes it drives me crazy because I can’t figure out what an envelope could be. Email arrives at 8AM, mail at 5PM.
@callow informed delivery is just them emailing you the scan they make at the post office to read/sort the envelope. They just had the info anyway so why not? Mine usually arrives around noon. Sounds like you are end of route.
I just check once a week
@unksol We are the very last street on the route which means the mailman is usually pretty happy!
@callow also as far as the name/address. Property records are basically public. No one’s hacking anything. Your county most likely has a public GIS that’s accessible via their website that you can just click on a map and see address/sale info/property taxes/lot size/house size etc.
Beacon is a popular one

Not anything you can do about that but also not being hacked or having your account info
Wow. Scammers just keep coming up with the craziest shit.
@Pony This particular one has been around for quite a while, I think I first heard about it at least 6 years ago. I know it was before the plague.
@werehatrack Wild. I’m pretty sure this is the first I’ve heard of it.
@Pony @werehatrack I had not heard of it either and I just ignored the first time I was used… Cause it did no damage.
@Pony @werehatrack I’d heard of them shipping stuff to you and stealing it off your porch. Not using your address in bum fuck nowhere
I got something delivered by FedEx today from Walmart that I did not order. A nice set of packing cubes. But last week was my birthday and I’m thinking one of my friends sent it but they haven’t spoken up yet.
If no one sent it, maybe the scam is going beyond Amazon?
@ironcheftoni If it’s an item that’s on their site but not in their stores, that’s possible.
@werehatrack I looked it up. It’s sold by a third party
@ironcheftoni @werehatrack
my son thought he got brushed when his pasta drop hit his stoop with 100# of penne!

I had something similar happen to me, but not for fraudulent reviews. I thought I was getting scammed. I ordered a toolbox from China, got a tracking number and a notice that said it was delivered. No package, no neighbors got it. I went to the post office the next day and talked with the postmaster and they told me that the tracking number went to an envelope that was delivered to a completely different address in my zip code, and that I was likely scammed.
At the end of that day, before I sat down to file for a refund, the toolbox showed up.
I really want to know what was sent to a stranger in my zip code and sent as my tracking number.
@djslack probably just fentanyl
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Normally I’d just say they scrambled the tracking numbers but the odds of from China in the same zip code at the same time sounds suspicious. And nothing stops them from dropping it off at your house after they got it unless you saw it delivered. I’m on the suspicious side
@unksol so it’s even stranger… The thing that I was tracking but didn’t come to me was mailed from from Missouri. The toolbox I ordered came straight from Walmart and the FedEx guy handed it directly to me.
Several levels of fishy going on there.
@djslack my Internet went out right after I replied. Then didn’t come back after reboots. But now it did. We are on to something
@djslack still a joke
I got a huge quantity of earing backs once. I assume it was a scam.
