Only seeing it now as I just got back from dropping my cats off at someone’s house 45 miles away (road trip to Houston for an apt Monday). And of course I had to check out her baby kittens - a mix of ragdoll, snowshoe, siamese and Persian. They all have siamese ears and tails, snowshoe feet and various bits of lynx (some more than others). And are long haired and soft as a rabbit. Sooooo tempted to steal one (or their mama) but will restrain myself.

I remember hearing, at the time in the navy was released and first played on radio, that the Navy like it and became interested in using it as a recruiting song.
This video had not yet been made, or was not yet in general circulation.
What I heard was that some admiral’s teenage kids had to explain to Dear Old Dad what the Village People (as a musical group), and their songs were trying to accomplish.
This was I think in the early 1980’s?
The Navy then backed away from their interest in the song pretty quickly.
