I have this exact coffee maker! My mother-in-law bought it for me a few years ago and I make an average two pots of coffee a day with it. Great quality and it holds up well. Also, the carafe is made in such a way that it's almost impossible to spill/dribble when pouring. I love it so much I might buy one tonight as a backup since mine is getting old. The single serve side has a mesh filter basket, so you can just pour grounds in and not have to buy anything special.
People are giving this machine a lot of unwarranted flak. Yes, if you are a coffee snob, you're not gonna enjoy this coffee maker. But I bought this exact model a few months ago and it's great. It is very sturdy, and super convenient. I love being able to make a single serve cup of coffee instead of an entire cup.
@RedOak I'll sometimes use the single serve side to make my husband a cup when he gets up for work at night if I don't already have a full pot on. My mom uses the single side when she comes to town for visits because she prefers plain Maxwell House and doesn't like the flavored stuff I buy. I can't imagine only drinking a single cup, though.
Hard water here kills all pump makers, so we use nice stainless steel cone holders for one cup and the incredible 1979 Mr. Coffee Non-Electric for 6 cups. Also a machinetta that works on the induction plate and a La Pavoni for serious espresso.
@radi0j0hn I had this coffee maker - the one on Meh- and it lasted about a year with my hard water. Now I just buy the cheap $15 ones from Target and expect to replace them yearly.
All these coffee machines make me want to start drinking more coffee. I sprung for an Instant Hot so my wife can make tea on the fly whenever she wants, and I already have a sick a$$ espresso machine, so i'm out.
Oh this thing uses senseo pods, not kcups. I remember getting a Senseo machine (for free through some promo) and it was.. Fine? Barely used it i assume from unpopularity the pods started becoming very very hard to find as supermarkets stopped carrying them. That was 10 years ago I think. You could probably get a good regular-ass Mr. Coffee drip machine for cheaper. You probably should pass on this.
@shrnack74 never mind. This is not a flexbrew and you're right that it is not kcup compatible. I'm still okay with that since I usually use ground in my flexbrew anyway.
Wide-fantastic-surprise. I already have a flexbrew, but it's just single serve. So happy to be able to fill my 20oz and 24oz Bubba mugs now. Thanks for thinking about me Meh!
I've had a Hamilton Beach 49981A single-cup machine for several months now, and it's been pretty great. Just works on regular coffee grounds (like this one can) and brews a better cup of coffee than my old Keurig.
Kind of tempted to get this, though, just to consolidate appliances on my countertop...
Amazon offers a Frustration-Free Packaging version for an additional 96 cents. I wish this was an option on more things. My drive to work is one, grocery checkout lines in another. Bought the Meh packaging version tactile-innate-brandy.
Meh, French press, takes up less counter space, makes super coffee, cleans well. If I use it enough, maybe I'll start speaking French. Oui! <----- OMG!
@Felyne While I never personally had good luck wih a French Press, one was made in the early 60's in my home town called the "Boontonware Instabrewer." While such devices were already WELL established in Europe, the Instabrewer made it into the opening scene of one of Michael Caine's "Harry Palmer" spy movies around 1966. This prompted a full WTF??? from me when I saw it years later.
I have this same coffee maker, and it's the absolute bees knees. I'm seriously tempted to buy another for backup, since this model has sadly been discontinued and replaced by some inferior K-cup stabbin' model of lesser quality.
I finally gave up on my Keurig. Every couple of weeks I have to do the paper clip trick to unclog it. I’ve only had it a year and started having trouble after just a couple of months. I even run a water only brew after my coffee brew thinking that might help.
I readed some reviews and ordered it. The single serve side is for the Senseo pods. I know they’re harder to find than the k-cups but I don’t expect to have the trouble with this brewer that I had with my Keurig. You can also use your own coffee for the single serve side. The other side has a regular coffee pot. They also make one where the single serve side is for k-cups.
It just arrived today, and so far I’ve just made a cup of coffee with the Senseo pod. It was very good coffee. I thought it was better than the Keurig coffee–not as weak. I made an 8 oz. cup. Just thought I would pass this along for anyone looking for a new coffee maker.

No beans about it , a sale out of the daily grind tonight --
I own too many coffee-making appliances already, maybe next time meh!

You're boring me. I'm bored.
another craptastic beyond meh machine that makes pretend coffee.
I miss the days when you actually sold real fresh beans on woot. maybe you don't remember that.
Talk amongst yourselves.
Getting down old school style -- CHANGING it up tonight
@AttyVette It does so much more thsn make coffee two ways. Pasta, anyone?
"Pod holder holds pods"
What will they think of next?
Wonder if they patented it? Wait until Apple finds out....they'll want to issue a new device so they can say "iPod holder holds iPods".....

@lpappy I don't understand the appeal of making a single cup of coffee instead of an entire cup? It seems about the same to me.
One cup of coffee? Madness.
@RedOak Madness
@RedOak Yes, one cup, please. Thx.

@RedOak *Mehdness
I will no longer purchase this brand of coffee machines. Both times , broke within two weeks.

Perhaps the most illinest product intro in Mehistory!
Word to your grinder

Meh. Soft pods. No thanks.

@Twiminy the single serve side comes with a mesh filter so that you can just use the grinds.
@Twiminy i have a single serve flexbrew. The pod holder does accept kcups.
@shrnack74 never mind. This is not a flexbrew and you're right that it is not kcup compatible. I'm still okay with that since I usually use ground in my flexbrew anyway.
Moist-level-observation. The last thirty-dollar coffeemaker I bought (off-meh) is getting leaky; time to swap it out.
Wide-fantastic-surprise. I already have a flexbrew, but it's just single serve. So happy to be able to fill my 20oz and 24oz Bubba mugs now. Thanks for thinking about me Meh!

Lord, show me how to
Say no to this
I don’t know how to
Say no to this.

@mykie You should. I have this model and bought one from today's sale for backup, too. It's the best coffee maker I've had in a long time.
#greatjob!
The description copy is woefully under-appreciated.
