Had a bigger one. Metallic coating of the basket flaked off after a couple of months even when always using parchment. Not a covered part under warranty. Eventually tossed the whole thing out.
@lichme We have a smaller one, same brand, that I got in a Fuko. It has been great, and we have not seen any flaking. I guess it’s worth noting that we pretty much only use it to reheat chicken fingers, though.
Good deal. I have one, and I love it. Cooking one slice of frozen pizza is easy, french fries are great, and even roast chicken parts are excellent. Onion rings, Scotch eggs, grilled cheese…
@haydesigner@OldCatLady When you have leftover pizza and you freeze it, I suggest slicing it before freezing. Not only do slices store more easily in a freezer, frozen slices are easier to handle when time comes to eat it.
@haydesigner@OldCatLady@sdb@warpedrotors
I hear some people have some sort of strange self control when they don’t have enough people to consume a pizza on their own in one shot. Also some people cannot consume pizza multiple days in a row or in the time a fridge can handle which is the really strange part. I don’t believe cold pizza can go bad in the eating window. But to each their own
@haydesigner@OldCatLady@sdb@unksol since you got all passive aggressive and sarcastic, I’ll return the favor. Some people have people called friends and family to help them eat a pizza. Others have the sense to order a pizza in a size they can reasonably finish without having to freeze the leftovers. Isn’t this fun?
@warpedrotors I think you failed on this since I was literally making a comment on my lack of friends that live nearby and also my over ordering of pizza. That I pick up.
@haydesigner@OldCatLady@unksol@warpedrotors Yeah, over-ordering because when you do the math on cost per square-inch of the pizza, bigger is cheaper. And when you account for the preferences of any friends who might be around to eat pizza you need a variety. And when you look for coupons, you find a discount for ordering multiples.
Or when making pizza, the additional cost and effort to make another one is insignificant while already making pizza, but after the kitchen is all cleaned up the effort to make the first one is much larger than pulling leftovers out of the freezer so why not make another one, or three, while you are at it.
Combine all those inputs and the output is a lot of leftover pizza.
@unksol failed at what exactly? I was poking fun at you for either being a weird loner who has to freeze pizza because any size is too large, or being too stupid to order the correct size in the first place. You admit to being both, but I fail? Is the “whoosh” from the air passing through your ears without any resistance?
This just looks like a glorified hair dryer put in a fancy box. I can do that myself, with a cheap hair drier, a normal box, and some fingernail polish. Hard pass.
@somf69 I agree. I have a 3.75 qt unit and it’s barely big enough sometimes. These little guys go on sale all the time for this very reason. I don’t know that a digital option is all the helpful when they are this small too.
I have a 5.3 quart and it’s the bees knees. This is a little too small unless you are single. It turns the frozen section in the grocery store into a whole new world. A note, they don’t really fry obviously. It’s like a countertop convection oven. Taquitos, Red Robin brand steak fries, frozen burritos, Banquet fried chicken, tyson nuggets, mozzarella sticks. If you like gas station food, like I obviously do you need an airfryer.
Well, I hope this one is better than the ‘Chef Sifu’ one I bought here about 16 months ago… The handle/tray and base NEVER seemed to HOLD as it should (IF the base was HOT… the ONE time you really NEED it to hold), AND it totally QUIT WORKING less than a month after the 1-yr warranty ran out!
@brunsonvivian Quick like a bunny write into meh.com/support They work m-f daytime business hours. Unless it was the OOPSPENNY because that one is for VMP’ers only, I think.

Super MEH.

@lichme this brand?
@RiotDemon Yep, came from meh or morningsave
@lichme @RiotDemon saved one soul…TY
@lichme We have a smaller one, same brand, that I got in a Fuko. It has been great, and we have not seen any flaking. I guess it’s worth noting that we pretty much only use it to reheat chicken fingers, though.
@Limewater That’s probably the difference. I cooked everything in it, including bacon, chops, chicken, sausage…
@lichme Sorry your basket was defective.
Did parchment hinder the heating? I would think the purpose of the basket is to hold it up so the oil can drip down and air can circulate.
@gustador The parchment came with it, and it has many vent holes. I don’t think affects the cook all that much since stuff gets rotated mid cook.

@OldCatLady, who sells frozen pizza by the slice?
@haydesigner @OldCatLady Ellios

@haydesigner @OldCatLady @sdb who has enough leftover pizza to freeze it?
@haydesigner @OldCatLady @sdb @warpedrotors

@haydesigner @OldCatLady @sdb @warpedrotors
@haydesigner @OldCatLady Not really the same, but I used to buy frozen pizzas, cut them in half, and only cook half at a time.
@Limewater That’s exactly what I do, but I cut them into quarters, which fit nicely into the basket.
@warpedrotors I think you failed on this since I was literally making a comment on my lack of friends that live nearby and also my over ordering of pizza. That I pick up.
In short
Whoooosh

@flehm your house must be interesting.
@flehm @RedOak hey don’t pick on his wife’s nail polish
@flehm @RedOak With all that nail polish solvent in the air, it can’t be anything but interesting.
Fry me to the moon
And let me eat among the stars
Let me taste what Spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars…
@hchavers Should have use this line.
Let me taste what Spring rolls are like
This makes the shittiest margaritas.
Don’t ask how I know this.
@mike808 sad/good joke. I really want to know your theory on how you would try
Why must you temp me so? It must be fate that I didn’t get one of these for Xmas.
Is this big enough to be in the way, but not big enough to actually be useful?
@warpedrotors haha, thinking the same thing.
I already have an air fryer, but I downloaded the recipe books, thanks!
Is that rush Limbaugh’s creepy head? If so kudos and amused bewilderment to you team meh!
I have the bigger one. This is a good brand. Makes chicken nuggets that look and taste like chik fil a without the grease.
@arfdawg But you still get all the beaks and butt-holes - so win-win
@Pufferfishy Those are the protesters.
Too small…we have a 7 quart and we all kinds of stuff in it…
@somf69 I agree. I have a 3.75 qt unit and it’s barely big enough sometimes. These little guys go on sale all the time for this very reason. I don’t know that a digital option is all the helpful when they are this small too.
more like GoAway…
It may not cook food very well, but at least it’s too small to be useful.
Omg, check out the colors available on the Amazon listing. The mint green and majestic yellow ones are especially adorbs.

@j37hr0 or you could just use the convention over.
I have a small air fryer and really like it. Meh, sell a decent digital toaster oven
@gustador If you’re looking for something bigger, we have this nifty air fryer oven
