@duodec 12.7 American quart or 12 Canadian liter or 12 litre in Britain (but don’t go there, or we might not let you back in)
or 12.7*32 "cubic"ounces = 406 fluid ounces
(filling the oven with 406 floz of any liquid might void your warranty)
@carl669 There are different units in effect throughout the world. E.g., There are ounces and there are honking ounces. Just like there are gallons, and there are imperial gallons, not the same thing. Evidently a honking ounce is equivalent to a quart. But that is only on Wednesdays. And only on Meh.
I love my Philips air fryer. I use it all the time for warming up fried foods (chicken, fries, etc). So this is tempting. But, I rarely say “wow I wish my air fryer was 3x bigger.” So it’s tempting, but I’m not sure this is a good fit for me – especially considering the fact of “where would I PUT it?”
@Bandrik We have a 3.8 quart one that came in an IRK. We do like it but would prefer a larger one (or getting an actual convection oven, which won’t happen until we move. I want to be able to cook two salmon filets at once, or more than 10-12 chicken wings at a time. But the concept is great.
@unksol reminds me of working customer service for a large online retailer that offered price matching, with common sense (and clearly spelled out) rules. people would call all the time wanting me to price match with sold out or discontinued items, or stuff that had a “lower price” before shipping and fees. once they were done yelling at me for explanaing why we wouldn’t honor that price, it always gave me great pleasure to let them know they were certainly free to purchase the item from whichever competitor offered this very low price. (they always said something like, “you’re losing a loyal customer!” yes, why would i want lose a customer like this? )
@kungfuqua@stolicat@unksol Yes but there are reviews from 2019, and I found the site useful. It shows a 4.8 star average with 72 reviews. Of those, 45 gave 5 stars and there are no 1 or 2 stars. A couple of the reviews read like shills but still…
@unksol Not a fair comparison? It’s the EXACT ITEM being sold today and not a “similar” item. It doesn’t matter if it’s not being sold by them anymore, the page still provides reviews specific to the item being sold on Meh today and likely reflects the last price it sold for by them. But sure, go off, I guess.
We use our Ninja from meh almost every day, mainly for the air frying, but I don’t think we need a second. They’re great if you don’t already have one- it’s like a toaster oven/ convection oven hybrid
@Seeds dang I’ve used my Ninjafrommeh three times. I mean it’s OK as a pressure cooker but I tried air-frying some sweet potatoes & they came out limp & soggy. I must be doin something wrong.
@Joedetroit she says “pressure cook the potatoes for 3/4 the time you normally would, then finish in the airfryer- it’s not like fries out of the fryer, but it’s good crispy potatoes”
@Larry1977 I snoozed and won. I don’t have another kitchen appliance that needs to be stored somewhere, and no charge on my credit card. Sounds like a win-win to me.
I’ve been wishing I had a bigger one. I have 5 mouths to feed, and my meh one from a while back (while awesome still), just isnt very big. Same brand as my small meh one, and it’s still running awesome… sounds like a killer deal to me.

@frieda85 It all starts with an email into support at https://meh.com/support This being a Friday, you may not hear back until Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
I think it is fine, but when we remodeled the kitchen we made our cabinets lower than usual and there is about a half inch clearance and we do not have anyplace else to use it.

“A big honking 12.7 ounces of cooking space”…
@duodec do they just not proofread these things at all?
@duodec @msayler Yes, they do not.
@duodec I believe they meant to say cubic ounces.

ounces or quarts?

@carl669 @phendrick honking ounces only apply to geese …
@carl669 @stolicat Have you never heard of a Tardis?(I would have loved to see the Doctor walk out of a fire hydrant.)
@carl669 @stolicat
liters or quarts?
@carl669 @phendrick But it’s Thursday.
@carl669 @Trinityscrew not everywhere (at least, not yet – of course, Meh is always in a different
realityuniversetime zone.)I love my Philips air fryer. I use it all the time for warming up fried foods (chicken, fries, etc). So this is tempting. @Bandrik But can you air fry an entire chicken? CAN YOU?

@Bandrik @sammydog01
@Bandrik @duodec I. Love. This. Photo. Made me actually laugh out loud. I like bloody marys and always tell them to hold the produce.
@Bandrik talking about space, how big is this thing? I can’t see the dimensions anywhere?!
@Bandrik @rtjhnstn @sammydog01 thanks for posting wisconsin.jpg
So I can fry up an entire can of beer?
@sdansmith With .7 ounces to spare! I’d recommend Corona.
well this would’ve made the whole Donner party thing a lot more fun…
@alacrity funly?
But…does it do Bluetooth? Can I use it to charge my iPhone? What would Jeffrey Damher do with it?
Hmmm, 8 ways to “Set it and forget it” What could go wrong?
@hchavers I only see 6 possible sides to set it on than forget to use it?
Pass. Makes terrible margaritas.
Sucks at sous vide, too.
I like the fancy click face.
Since the Amazon comparison is only of a similar item, here is a listing from the Home Depot for the exact model with reviews:

@kungfuqua with a “Special Buy” price of $169
@kungfuqua @stolicat except it’s out of stock online and not sold in stores so… Not sure that’s a fair comparison for a discontinued product

Can I trade in some worthless quadcopters?
substantial-outdated-caterpillar
Tiny, smaller than a toaster oven. Pass
Will it roast coffee beans?
That’s a big bitch.

@Joedetroit Ours took some getting used to too- I think @valkyriered has some tricks
@Joedetroit she says “pressure cook the potatoes for 3/4 the time you normally would, then finish in the airfryer- it’s not like fries out of the fryer, but it’s good crispy potatoes”
Nope. Just no!
Fried air? Can I dip it in ketchup? Is it Keto friendly?
Can I get my air extra crispy?
Wow this is the first meh item I’ve looked up that has an F on fakespot
@VulgarWarrior What URL did you use on fakespot?
12.7 Quarts?! That’s a BFF.
I’ll only buy it if it comes with corona virus!
@zacks It was likely made in China. Who knows maybe it was made in Wahan. You might get lucky.
@Kidsandliz I ordered it
12 quarts sounds like a lot - but 10x10x7" doesn’t seem like a large space. Couldn’t even fit a medium pizza in there.
What am I missing?
@rprussell
And you wouldn’t want to. Maximum temperature is 400F.
I’d say, it is somewhere between a toaster oven and an easy-bake.
why is this so popular in Utah?
@lwmctz lol bought one and am from Utah. In my defense, I just bought one at costco that I am going to return as this one is way better value.
@iPatrick no defense needed, i was just curious! congrats on the savings~
@lwmctz not at all. I found it funny too, cause I looked at the map and noticed the exact same thing before I read your comment.
@lwmctz The dehydrating feature maybe?
One ounce per quart? That’s pretty heavy air.
/giphy an absolute unit
Stainless or ceramic inside? Wouldn’t want teflon.
So your saying I shouldn’t buy this product
Cook a really mean cornish hen with this thing.
This looks like a pain in the arse to clean…
/giphy painted-frankly-onion
Does it come with a chef? I need one that comes with that.
TOM HANKS HAS CORONA VIRUS!!
Okey-dokey. Here’s the real deal at Home Depot for $169.99.

Reviews look good but I have the same reservation already brought up. Cleaning this thing looks hard. I don’t see any TFE but who knows what the interior is made from other than it’s shiny. I find is amusing that almost any manufacturer that includes USA in their name is manufactured in China.
I guess I snoozed I lose. Sold out
@Larry1977 I snoozed and won. I don’t have another kitchen appliance that needs to be stored somewhere, and no charge on my credit card. Sounds like a win-win to me.
@hamjudo
Well I have a nice open spot on my counter for something like this and at only $79 it’s not such a big risk like the ones on the infomercials
@hamjudo @Larry1977 A bread maker would fill that spot nicely. Do you have a bread maker?
@Larry1977 @sammydog01 Yes, I do have a bread maker. It is in the basement on a shelf, because I don’t have space for it in the kitchen.
I’ve been wishing I had a bigger one. I have 5 mouths to feed, and my meh one from a while back (while awesome still), just isnt very big. Same brand as my small meh one, and it’s still running awesome… sounds like a killer deal to me.

I would like to return my go wise air fryer. Order # Marbled-tempoary-plate
@frieda85 Why? What’s wrong with it?
How do I go about the returning?
@frieda85 It all starts with an email into support at https://meh.com/support This being a Friday, you may not hear back until Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
@frieda85 Why? What’s wrong with it?
I think it is fine, but when we remodeled the kitchen we made our cabinets lower than usual and there is about a half inch clearance and we do not have anyplace else to use it.
I’m sorry to hear that. I got mine yesterday and I’ve made french fries and chicken strips in it. They turned out great!
