Good news everyone!
84I just missed out on the Fuku, but I graduated today with honors. I know, I am way to old to still be in school, but after a brain tumor and everything associated with that surgery, I am proud. God, I just read that sentence, I sound like such an asshat.

@conandlibrarian Sir, I've met some serious asshats, and you are not even in the running.
Congratulations on Honors!!!
Woohoo! Two good things happened to you today!
You make us fellow cons real proud.
Congratulations! Never too old to better yourself. :)
Awesome! You whipped your brain into shape. Huge congratulations!
Fuck everything after "with honors." since that first sentence contains the Great News of the Day. Congratulations on every step of the way to success!
congrats man!
No one is ever too old to be in school. You have every reason and right to be proud. Well done, you!!
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations! That's wonderful news. Well done on graduating with honors.
Having left college when I was young then going back to school later in life and graduating at 36, I totally get it. There's a perverse pleasure in being able to mark off that 'College Graduate' box on questionnaires. Congrats @conandlibrarian!
@cinoclav 35 here and just about half way done. It's a nice feeling to get good grades.
@Kevin Even more so when you realize how much harder you have to work at it the older we get. Retention skills were much easier at 20 but in your 30's you realize the importance of what you're doing and are willing to put forth more effort. Good luck the rest of the way!
@cinoclav @Kevin I managed to get back to school in my 40's and get a BA and an MBA. Never give up..
Congrats!
That is not good news, that is super-fantastic news! Congratulations on your awesome achievement!
Congratulations on this thread, too. So- party at your house, or should we all stay home and celebrate the greatness of @conandlibrarian?
You guys are all so nice! I actually hate any kind of real attention, and didn't invite anyone to the ceremony. I get so uncomfortable.
Thanks everyone!!
@conandlibrarian Let's try this again. Parties are given so people can attend them and wear fun clothes and eat/drink things they normally don't. The recipient of the party is the LAST thing on partiers' mind. I mean, do you think the birthday kid gets to eat the whole cake? Noooo!
Congratulations on your MOST EXCELLENT achievement!!!!!!!!!! awesome-honors-student
We need to celebrate.
Just wanted to say congratulations. I've had for me what is a cruddy day. I've been thinking about going back to school and am starting a Stats class on Monday since most of the classes I would need for a certificate seem to need this as a prereq. But this all pales to what you have done. Enjoy the praise - it is hard to come by in life so milk it for all it's worth baby!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy to have have been your 50TH star of like!
Congraduations! I made up that word just for you.
Yea!!!
Congraduations!
I bet you could teach za Dewey Decimal Syztem.
@PocketBrain
Pathetic human race. Arranging their knowledge by category just made it easier to absorb. Dewey, you fool! Your decimal system has played right into my hands! Ha ha ha ha!
Congrats on both, fuck the Fuko, and you are such a very nice Asshat!
what can ever be better??? than hearing such great news!! someone, overcoming obstacles and conquering!! you have a right to be proud.....:)

I read this post in Farnsworth's voice.
Also, congratulations.
@themutilator I did too
Congratulations … a huge accomplishment … well done !
I finished my Masters in Counseling earlier this month with a 4.0.
@MsELizardBeth Congratulations!
@dashcloud thanks
@MsELizardBeth That’s huge! Congrats!!
@MsELizardBeth Ms. Beth, Congratulations to you on this amazing accomplishment. As someone else that went to college much later (started at 29), you are to be commended on your commitment, and honors - 4.0!!!
@mfladd I’m 35 this go around. Lol
@MsELizardBeth you are just a pup
@mfladd I have a 4 year old and don’t feel very young around the other toddler moms lol
@MsELizardBeth try being 51 with a 6 year old…is that grandpa with you?
@mfladd hubby will be 42 when kiddo is 6
@mfladd You’re 51?! I thought you were much younger than that!
@jqubed I’m fucking old
@MsELizardBeth @mfladd Trust me on this: you feel oldest (least young?) when the kiddos start acting like teenagers
@compunaut my kiddo had the teenager attitude at 3.
@jqubed And I thought @mfladd was much older than that ! ducks and runs
@MsELizardBeth Congratulations on your degree ! 35 is young. There are many mothers your age and older these days. Besides, you probably don’t look a day over 28. And I bet they younger ones weren’t juggling a baby and getting a masters !! Extra for that !
@MsELizardBeth
@ceagee this is actually my second masters. I didn’t walk for my first one because I was 37 weeks pregnant.
There’s no such thing as too old to be in school, @conandlibrarian, especially not with the adversity you’ve described to overcome. This attitude that society seems to have that school is for young people like me is one of the more terrible things I’ve encountered in my 26 years on this planet. I have worked with several adults who have gone back to school in one capacity or another, including a 50+ year old man who went to night school to get his GED, I could not be more proud to know him. Life is a journey and education is a means of self improvement, when we sit back and say ‘that’s enough, I’ve learned all I need to learn’ we throw away all of our future potential, there’s no such thing as too old for school and you should be proud of your achievement.
Congratulations, graduate!
Or should I say congradulations?
@jbartus a classmate of mine was 88 when she got her AS
@MsELizardBeth that’s amazing. It makes you never want to stop improving!
Congratulations!
@daveinwarsh Looks like he’s saying “fuck yeah, fuck this”
Big fuckin’ congrats! Nothing like getting those degrees. How long till you go back for another? grin
Sunday was our 40th Wedding anniversary. How about that?
@jvspencer I’ve been wondering who might be the eldest around here; sounds as if it might be you. For a long time I thought it might be me at 69.
@magic_cave well If he/she got married in early twenties it still could be you. : ) Waving hello !
@jvspencer
@ceagee oh and i forgot to add congratulations on 40 years of wedded bliss !
@conandlibrarian I thought I posted congratulations earlier and I can’t find it so I guess I did not. So, here’s to you !! Congratulations !
69 is older than me, correction, more seasoned.
