Goat Day 28: Cult Films
3Happy Saturday! Hope everyone is enjoying the day. It's a weekend so these are short, but I did want to chat about something.
CULT FILMS
I got to thinking about cult films because the guys who brought you Super Troopers raised $2 million in one day via crow funding. While I'm happy those guys reached their goal, am I alone in thinking that Super Troopers wasn't really that great of a film to begin with? I understand it has a cult following, but what am I missing? Weed?
That is not to say I hate all cult films. I love Office Space and the Evil Dead films hold a special place in my heart... But a film like Rocky Horror or Napoleon Dynamite I can't stand at all. I mean, I vicerally LOATHE Rocky Horror.
Oh well, maybe I'm missing something.
WINNERS!
Congrats to the Dayton women for advancing to the Elite 8 by beating Louisville here in Albany. Your reward? Facing UConn, who beat Texas today by 51... 51!!!!!!!!
TODAY'S DEAL
I'd get one if I didn't already have an air pump and jumper cab,ES. I believe the light is for when you have to change a tire at night. Just a guess.
TODAY'S QUESTION
What is a cult film you just can't stand and don't get why people find it good?
Until tomorrow, BLEAT!!!!

What's your take on the room?
@sohmageek Depends on whether you consider it a dark, dark comedy or a tragically made drama, IMHO. Personally, it falls flat either way for me, but I can at least appreciate a screening with an audience - you really need to see it with an audience, at midnight, preferably stoned (and sneak in a bottle).
@sohmageek LOVE! It's so incompetent you just have to watch with your mouth agape. Best watched with a crowd.

@sohmageek If you like the room... hold on to your hat..... http://www.hulu.com/the-neighbors-2015
@thismyusername no, that's different. He is going at it "knowing" he's a train wreck. It's not the same. There's a certain innocence to bad film schlock that makes it great. It's like Sharknado... You can't purposely make a bad movie. It's just not the same as a truly bad movie from an auteur who didn't realize he was making a bad film.
I can't stand Eraserhead (1977). However, I can appreciate why any audience might find any film to be "good" (especially within the parlance of its time).
