Dealing still with aftermath of TS Harvey and nothing great happening Elderly Parents house flooded , they were rescued in a canoe with their dog, and they lost their only car in the flood. I couldn’t get back into my county at the time as it was surrounded by flood waters and spouse stranded in our home for six days.

@Panegyric I was on beltway 8 in Houston trying to get back to Jefferson county and stopped to help a family as I was trying to drive back home. I am no hero and not saying this for any reason other than to say many, MANY people were stopping, all races, all ages, etc. trying to help the people on the flooded access roads below us. I saw a mother and her four children (after they were rescued by boats below) as they walked up the ramp on to the beltway 8 freeway with a few clothes and a soft sided animal crate with two small dogs and a cat inside. She said they were trying to get to relatives and their apartment had been flooded.
Long story short, I tried to get them to her brothers house across town but IH 10 was under water and and had at least 10-15 or more feet of water over it where the highway dipped down and no not I am not kidding! I I and many other drivers turned around and drove the wrong way on Ih10 and I was praying I didn’t hit and kill someone by driving the wrong way on the highway trying to escape the rushing and rising water.
It was horrible the sights I saw…I saw animals swimming in the water below freeways and saw people binging rescued by coast guard helicopters and by boats. I never made it to her brothers house as when I managed to finally exit ih10 going the wrong way on entrance ramp, all the streets were foooded. I drove in the median following other vehicles and managed to find police officers with a boat. I stopped and asked the police officers about helping this lady and her family get across the flooded road to the other side, as her brothers house was about a half mile away. The officer said they were pulling out of the area as they said their boat almost capsized due to the water rushing over the road. The officer said the water rose over two feet in less than a minute and it was just too dangerous to cross the road anymore with the river rushing over it. Anyways, there is a lot more that happened but suffice it to say it was horrible. But at least I managed to get this family into school buses transporting people to shelters ( only shelter in that area wouldn’t accept pets so we didn’t try to reach that one).![][1] I got stranded in Houston area though because ih10 and highway 90 and all other roads in my county were under water! It was good though because when my parents home flooded and they were rescued, I drove on Grand Parkway and picked them up. If I had gotten home earlier, I wouldn’t have been able to pick them up after they were rescued.

Sometimes clicking the check box is good enough proof for Google, other times they make you pick out street signs or other objects in photos to prove your humanish.

Captcha is more and more common on all types of sites beyond just ecommerce and some days I get a single click check, other days I get to solve multiple puzzles. You also need to take into account that even if you’re lucky enough today to get just a click, there are still thousands of others just as lucky that you’re competing against for a few hundred items available. In short, you win some, you lose some, but it’s not worth losing your sleep or sanity over.

Hmmm…originally to arrive on Friday (today is Sunday, for those without a calendar). Its now 50 miles away, and the arrival date has changed to…Saturday. But the package still has the fabulous default characteristics…you know 1 kg…etc.
