Ooh, multimeter…
Must add another item to the cart to purchase the flashlight.
._.
@PlacidPenguin online they are only free with another purchase. You have to go to the store to get it without purchase.
@RiotDemon
Meh.
The closest one is 15 miles away.
really no picture?
some people have had success printing the picture and having the store accept it

@communist the website linked in the original post took me straight to the coupons that say they can be used in store.
I took one of those flashlights apart in church the other day… was MacGyvering a “star” costume that fell apart. I probably should mosey on over and get a replacement for the hubby.
if all 3 of those items cost a dollar total to make i;d be shocked. HF has some gems amongst piles of gravel (the aluminium jack for instance) but they are less common thsn i wish. usually more expensive too.
@aerosquid a lot of people I know use that place instead of renting tools. You can usually buy something for the price it would cost to rent it a couple of days. If it lasts longer than that, it’s a bonus in their eyes.
@aerosquid You’re probably not going to be shocked, then, since it does cost more than a dollar to make all of them. China’s wages have increased a good bit over the years and even the factories there are going automated wherever it’s feasible.
@RiotDemon Yep. Several years ago, a coworker spent $60 renting a wet tile saw for 3-days. I spent $45 purchasing mine, did my 3 bathrooms, 2 bathrooms at my neighbors house, and resold it for $30 to someone who didn’t want to spend $60 renting one.
I purchased my drywall hoist the same way - from someone who didn’t want to spend $150 renting when it could be purchased for that much. I bought it very lightly used for $120. I’ll have no problem reselling it for $100 when I’m done with it.
My take at HF tools versus the “American” brand tools: they’re all imported nowadays, all have the same warranty, but one costs less than half of the other.
Not too hard to decide there. I didn’t mind paying a premium for USA made. I do mind paying a premium for the same import with a different name slapped on the box.
Also they have free 24 pack batteries AAA or AA. I’ve gotten like 4 so far. It is one coupon code per person per day.
I had a lady asking me if I worked there. Just to be clear, I was wearing sunglasses, a shirt with a unicorn shitting rainbows, camo shorts, and flip flops.
Do I look like I fucking work there? That’s what I really wanted to say. I just said no. Then I asked myself why that happens to me often. Several times a year.
hey @RiotDemon do you work here? i need help buying vmp
@communist click on the big V inside a shield at the top.
muttering under my breath about how I must look like a retail worker, no matter what I wear
@RiotDemon
It’s the sweet gentle headbanger side of you that draws them to you.
@RiotDemon To be fair, that outfit would totally convince me that you work at meh. Also, if I ever see anyone wearing that particular combination of clothing, I’m going to look crazy when I do the octopus sign at them while saying “RiotDemon?!?”
@Thumperchick @RiotDemon
I’ve thought long and hard about how to cause the most embarrassment if I were to ever meet a mehmber.
Hasn’t happened yet, although after 2 years I’ve come up with some ideas.
@Thumperchick if it was me, I might look at you crazy because I have no idea what the octopus sign is, lol. Then after a while, it’ll process that you called my name. Then I’ll wonder if I’m being stalked, haha
@RiotDemon
Sigh…
@PlacidPenguin wouldn’t that be a Pentapus?
@PlacidPenguin
@RiotDemon
@snapster
Octopuses can escape lots of things. And they are just cool.
And people don’t appreciate them.
