@Yoda_Daenerys The only one I have seen was because of a snafu in an item description caused people to receive an item with a different spec. . . . . Okay the blade of a knife was made of a different steel then was listed on the main page so purchasers got a code for a bit off a purchase.
You can get a $5 coupon if you win @jasontoon’s Look Smart Trivia. That would cover the cost of one shipment, or a month of VMP (which includes free shipping) with a penny left over.

@rickwhoo you are actually welcome to point out better deals in the daily product thread, and even post links to them. So I nominate you, every night at midnight et, look at what’s for sale, Google it, and find us those better deals with that sweet, sweet FREE shipping.
Shipping is expensive. Oftentimes I’ve bought and sold products online that were cheaper than the shipping cost. Most recently I spent about $2.50 for a power switch. Shipping for that switch was more than $5.
If I were to sell an item that is worth less than the shipping cost, and I had to provide free shipping, I wouldn’t sell the item. I’d make more money ($0.00) not selling it than I would make selling it and paying shipping costs above the price of the item ($0.00 minus shipping).

Just an additional thought: You could get free shipping on everything you buy if you’re willing to go pick it up. That may not be cost effective, but if you’re already planning to travel to the physical location of the item you buy, and you plan a stop to pick up the item, shipping costs could be as cheap as walking from your hotel to the store or warehouse. Also, if you have friends, family, or another proxy in the area of your item, and if you visit with them occasionally, they can pick up the item for you, and you can get your item when you visit them. It may take weeks or months to get your item, but there would be no shipping cost. In fact, with enough people, you could get free shipping with everything you buy, no matter where it is. It could be like a volunteer fire department’s bucket bridgade across the globe, but instead of passing hand to hand a bucket of water from the source to the fire, they’d be passing your items from person to person, across the planet, from the store to your door.
