fpv range?
0Mine dosnt seem that great, it gets pretty fuzzy at 325 meters up. Any ideas?
Im using a immersion 600mw 5.8 with clover leaf Antena and a black peal diversity monitor with one clover leaf and one rubber ducky.
The one on the vtx is the one thats "tuned" to my goggles, i guess i need to try my other clover leaf to see if it does better.

What's your antenna placement? Maybe moving the antenna will help. Also a high gain RX antenna wouldn't hurt. A helical coil or a flat panel are probably the most directional at a reasonable size/weight/price.
BTW, I've no doubt you're already on this, but... you're sure the cloverleaf is 5.8ghz, ya? Different freqs have different requirements for antenna configuration.
Fuzzy with clear line of sight, or fuzzy near or through foliage?
@zippyus
Line of sight straight up, seems like i read directly under the vtx isnt best maybe thats part of it.
@nltownsend843 yes, if your antenna has any gain at all, that is in one area and comes at a loss from other areas (gain is the antenna putting out more power in one direction at the expense of others). It is possible that your antenna's radiation pattern is concentrated in the horizontal plane. You can look up antenna patterns online or in manufacturer spec sheets.
This is what im working with.

I tried the boscam antenna on the vtx, it got fuzzy about the same place but i went ahead and took it up to 400 meters, it still had signal but not great. Also when i rotate the quad it can get worse
Man you're getting up there. If you're 400 meters directly overhead you might be kind of in a dead zone, i don't know cloverleaf patterns but if the dipole is pointed basically at the quad that's the worst place for it.
Nm i see you have the dipole sideways, that's not relevant
@djslack
The clovers are kinda like a spiral funnel. The monitor automatically picks the best signal and shows what antenna its using....funny thing is it switches to the dipole at that height.
I might just need to take it to a big field and get it further away from overhead.
@nltownsend843 This is your signal pattern for a cloverleaf. If you're directly overhead, you can see the hole in the signal.
@ruouttaurmind
Ill try to take it up until i have signal problems then move it away to see if it gets better.
I try to stay over my yard when flying at home in case it comes crashing down.
Do you think it would work better pointing one or both antenna sideways?
@nltownsend843 Picture the "Vertical" graph rotated 90*. Note the transmission hole you've created. Turning the TX antenna sideways theoretically would eliminate the hole that appears when you're directly over the RX... though in practice I've never tried it. It just might work for that one situation when you're flying directly overhead. FYI, the VTX cloverleaf on my iLook+ camera IS mounted horizontally.
These are the ones I have:
Unfortunately, I don't have osd to tell me how far I've gone. I think I go about a mile away (line of sight in front of me) and I see static. I know that when I shot the phantom straight up, I got static when it wasn't so far away. I apologize, but I can't quantify anything since I don't know how far up I've gone.
