@BlindRob agreed. I was told it was something cool... Well it is kind of cool. But mostly useless for me. So meh no reason for outside cameras. However it seems it may be great with yesterday's item. Maybe it's theme week. Burglars? Tomorrow bulletproof vests?
@Mofongo im guessing foscams are hard to setup(i still cant port forward mine correctly) so they get returned A LOT. reputible sellers(aka everyone except walmart) dont sell returns as new, so they get packaged and sold in lots to wholesale dealers like midiocre INC.
@TBoneZeOriginal You are right. I am full of crap. The last one I bought did not have WiFi, I was thinking of the other one I own. I honestly think the WiFi cameras suck. I always run an ethernet cable to them for reliability and the fact that you will be running a power line to it anyways. But I would switch out wireless for 720p. I do strict motion detecting which has issues with WiFi and lag.
@PhysAssist Sorry buddy.. Read my later comment. I f***ed up. I prefer wired cameras over wireless personally though. More reliability and higher quality. EDIT: Never did say it was wireless.. :x
I have the higher resolution version model 9805W. I constantly have to reset it because it loses the network and won't find it again. Sometimes it'll go for weeks between reset, sometime only a couple of days. Particularly frustrating if I'm out of town and want to check on things at home.
Oh, and the first one I received from Amazon failed in about three weeks. Fortunately they have a rather painless replacement policy.
Tempting. Resolution is kind of weak but ok. Seems like many reviews say they fail after 12-15 months, so a guessing they refurbed them and hopefully fixed the issue? Price is good for an outdoor camera.
I've been very pleased with my other Foscams. Most people are idiots and leave bad reviews because they don't understand how to configure the camera.
I would have considered a higher resolution one, but the VGA resolution is just too limiting. I could really use some outdoor/night vision 720p cameras though...
$48... meh. I might jump on the next camping illumination item to pop up (maybe a headlamp or flashlight?) in hopes of receiving one of these new (to meh) cameras. But... security just isn't something we intentionally spend money on.
Was going to buy until I saw 640x480. That's enough to tell you it was a human who robbed you, rough height, possibly gender, based on hair or how they're dressed, but you'll never get a court-admissible recognition of someone's face unless they walk up right in front of it, hold still and say "cheese". Same with license plates. As much as I love what you guys do (usually) I have to say "Meh" to this one.
@mbimeh I'd be surprised to find out anyone anywhere has ever gotten a court-admissible face from a home security camera, regardless of the resolution.
@dave Not frequently, because most people use the cheapest hardware they can find. I have seen home CCTV footage used as evidence but only in cases where the homeowner bothered to invest some real cash to buy quality cameras.
@SilentH I would venture to say that most people do not have a POE router at home and these are not ONVIF compliant so you will not be connecting them to your security NVR that probably has POE. Besides, when people buy a wifi camera that happens to include the ethernet port, they will probably use the wifi most of the time because they are either too lazy or don't know how to run the cable to their router (the camera being outside and the router being inside).
Anybody that knows what POE and ONVIF means, will probably stay away from this low-res camera anyway.
@tombrend I want a couple more security cameras. I have an 16 channel NVR with all 1080p cameras but only 8 of them. I would like an affordable way to get the other 8 installed. Would like them to be ONVIF compliant, 1080p, POE, IR illumination 0 lux vision, and outdoor waterproofing.
@shade_tree That certainly shouldn't be the case. We'll get this cleared up with Foscam to make sure we are listed as an authorized distributor as we should be.

Customer I don't see meh.com on there, today they are selling FI8905W and claim it has a 1 year Foscam warranty. Am I correct that it has no warranty since its not on that link?
Lawrence Richardson(for discounts on foscam products) give me a minute i will confirm with this and let you know
Customer thank you
Lawrence Richardson(for discounts on foscam products) since meh.com is not on our retailer page we cannot assure for the warrenty
@shade_tree Perhaps some Meh (Mediocre) employee should verify warranty information before an item is listed for sale. Eliminating some of these "Lab"streams should give them sufficient time to ensure that the information provided in the product listings is accurate. ;)
OK, someone with a past Foscam camera purchased off Meh said they were denied warranty service and had to RMA with meh.com I'm just saying because Foscam are real sticklers as far as warranty service in my experience...
I bought 3 of the indoor Foscam 8910 models and they are great. I have all three of them setup to monitor the baby's room and a couple other rooms and I have had very few issues.
It looks identical to the HooToo outdoor camera that I bought a couple of years ago. This model has IR Cut, so it should look better in mid day compared to the HooToo.

Meh...
Time for bed.
@BlindRob agreed. I was told it was something cool... Well it is kind of cool. But mostly useless for me. So meh no reason for outside cameras. However it seems it may be great with yesterday's item. Maybe it's theme week. Burglars? Tomorrow bulletproof vests?
@donkeynuts I'm not sure which I like better in this context. One makes me giggle, the other makes me giggle....
Goaldammit Meh! No more! I said no!
So did I miss the Foscam acquisition of mediocre labs? Because goddamn
@Mofongo im guessing foscams are hard to setup(i still cant port forward mine correctly) so they get returned A LOT. reputible sellers(aka everyone except walmart) dont sell returns as new, so they get packaged and sold in lots to wholesale dealers like midiocre INC.
@Mofongo I'd like to think that Mediocre acquired Foscam. That's one critical part down for the eventual Mediocre Camera Drone, coming in 2016.
insta-meh
Not worth it. I got a 720p nightvision IR one off amazon for $30.
@Skylord123 Which one? I'm looking for one. I have a foscam as a baby cam, so I'm too familiar with their unreliable crap to buy this one.
@Skylord123
With wifi? Make and model, please!
@Skylord123 Well, give it over please?!?!
@Skylord123 You're full of crap. The only camera on Amazon that comes close to $30 and has IR/wifi/720p specs is $50. And the reviews suck.
@TBoneZeOriginal You are right. I am full of crap. The last one I bought did not have WiFi, I was thinking of the other one I own. I honestly think the WiFi cameras suck. And I obviously blame @narfcake for my inability to resist that dead horse. I love being part of a community where nothing is ever my fault.
@christinewas Oh sure, blame the current goat for a fault that happened under a different goat. BLEAT!

Frogs not included?!!
Count me out.
meh
$14 or meh.
no POE? why include an Ethernet port if you're not going to implement POE?
Meh

What a coincidence - IP outdoors all the time.
@Pufferfishy
drones and knives and surveillance equipment...
I'm worried about you, meh
How is there still a meh user who wants a security camera?
@tombrend I want a couple more security cameras. I have an 16 channel NVR with all 1080p cameras but only 8 of them. I would like an affordable way to get the other 8 installed. Would like them to be ONVIF compliant, 1080p, POE, IR illumination 0 lux vision, and outdoor waterproofing.
@tombrend I have too many indoor ones... I need another outdoor one, but wife says no. :(
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh
Looks like Meh.com is NOT an authorized distributor, in that case Foscam will not honor the 1 year warranty.
@shade_tree That certainly shouldn't be the case. We'll get this cleared up with Foscam to make sure we are listed as an authorized distributor as we should be.

ok, thank you
@shade_tree They go by Mediocre Corporation- try that
@sammydog01 I don't see Mediocre Corporation listed either on the above list so I assume its still not an authorized warranty
@shade_tree Perhaps some Meh (Mediocre) employee should verify warranty information before an item is listed for sale. Eliminating some of these "Lab"streams should give them sufficient time to ensure that the information provided in the product listings is accurate. ;)
@shade_tree These were purchased directly from Foscam, and they have confirmed to us that the warranty is covered. @eyewerks Perhaps that's what I do
@Moose I had no idea. I just thought you were the guy they kept around to drink crawfish water, and the like.
OK, someone with a past Foscam camera purchased off Meh said they were denied warranty service and had to RMA with meh.com I'm just saying because Foscam are real sticklers as far as warranty service in my experience...
I got one! Can you say backup camera the gps has bluetoothes this is gonna be more fun than curling.
Decided to buy one. Makes it 4 months in a row I bought on the 27th.
Feb - PANASONIC 2-HANDSET TELEPHONE SYSTEM
Mar - MCCULLOCH STEAM CLEANER
Apr - IVATION REMOTE CONTROL OUTLETS
May - FOSCAM OUTDOOR WIRELESS IP CAMERA
Can't wait to see what I buy on June 27th. Almost have to buy regardless at this point.
I bought 3 of the indoor Foscam 8910 models and they are great. I have all three of them setup to monitor the baby's room and a couple other rooms and I have had very few issues.
