Fort-Fri-Nite-Day (Play Fortnite with Us)
6Hey folks, @woodhouse here, to remind you that it’s Friday and we would rather be playing games than working. So, we set up a Fortnite account (username mehdotcom) that we’d like to welcome you to play with us on! We’ll be rotating folks on our side controlling the account, and you can add us to jump into the lobby with us.
We’ll be playing on a Nintendo Switch, which means that people playing on mobile, Xbox, and PC should also be able to join in (and obviously others on Switch), but PS4 does not allow for cross-play yet, as far as I know.
If you’d like to join in, add mehdotcom to your Fortnite friends list and keep an eye out for invites from us!

@mfladd you can play 50v50, its great mode to start learning how to play
@communist @mfladd that is how I practice. I also warm up with 50 v 50 before I go die in solos or squads.
I think PS4 does offer crossplay but if your account is registered on a PS4 you can’t use it on a Switch. I’m down to play though! Username is Novaden

I am in. I am Jst1ofknd.
And I’m out. Tried to play android version. Could not figure out what I was doing. Skydiving was cool. Landed on a building and then got shot.
@jst1ofknd Gist is you skydive onto the map with 99 other people and have to collect items to help you survive. You have a pick axe that can break down objects for raw building material, too, letting you access areas you wouldn’t normally be able to, and you can use those raw materials to make things like staircases or walls.

I don’t think I will be playing this again. At least not on my phone. Maybe on the Switch.

Being free, I assume it’s a pay-to-win type of thing with in-game power-ups to purchase and such. Is that true?
I applaud the cross-platform play efforts, but that also shows me they’re not really concerned with the matches being fair.
@medz From what I have seen it’s not P2W, anything for purchase is cosmetic.
@medz nope fortnite is true dota2 style pay for pretty things only
the entire game its self is free , the only thing you can buy are skins, and new customes
as for crossplatform
on pc you are generally matched only with other pc people
xbox and ps4 match with other consoles
mobile only mates with mobile
unless you Queue with friends

Did y’all get the challenges done for the special event this weekend? That 500 damage one took me a couple hours. I did make a getaway once because I got lucky with an awesome teammate.
