@mike808 while totally useless for making margaritas, it will hold approximately 3.5 gallons of pre-made margaritas, 38 mini-bottles of tequila, and 2 tubs of margarita salt.
I bought one of these last time. I was surprised that I really liked it on the four trips I’ve taken it on so far. It holds just the right amount of stuff for me if I’m traveling alone with clothes in it, and is also light enough for daily use too.
Seems like a great deal though. I’ve never spent over $20 on a backpack so this looks like a winner. I will pass, however, since I have enough backpacks already (two of which I bought last year from Meh).
I got this last time. It’s good enough for the price. Some of the design choices are odd and the material feels thin and cheap, but it’s seen light use most workdays for a few months without incident or laptop destruction.
@norman8 Get bumpers, bro!
And a margarita for me while you’re there anyway. The backpack probably holds a case, so pick up some six-packs of Da Beast while youre at the bar.
K Thx.
@tinkleondabeach It’s not “TSA compliant” but then if you travel more than a couple times a year, you sign up for TSA Pre-check and then every laptop bag is TSA compliant. And the side sleeve does zip up.
@KenC It’s padded. I have an Ogio backpack right now with a side entry laptop compartment, and I actually really like it. It keeps my laptop from getting thrown in with the books and binders in the main compartment and makes it really easy to get it out. And because of all the padding, you don’t really feel it that much. I actually think it’s good design, for the most part.
Bought my current backpack on Meh and I might as well grab this one. My old one can serve as random-electronic-bullshit-bag and this one can be for actual school stuff!
@mdszy and @show_the_maw and @adamselby and others: my middle schooler needs a new backpack. He has 4 binders and 5 spirals. Plus bits a pieces. Will this work or is the main compartment smaller generally and/or due to laptop sleeve?
Please discuss.
Thank you.
@mollama this would be fine. The main compartment is plenty big. The slot for a laptop (or iPad!) is only going to fit something of that thickness however. It is a separate part of the backpack from the main compartment.
First time purchase by an old lady who hates new fangled ways of technology. That is, until I found this site, ordered the backpack and received my order number: clear crafty broccoli. You guys rock.
I don’t have this one, but I have the Ful zip-together backpack/suitcase combo that was sold here awhile back, and I love it. So much so that the backpack part of it is my current full-time work backpack. When I pack for trips, that one holds:
2 full-size laptops in sleeves plus their power units
a couple of USB battery packs (a pair from the Duracell set-of-two Meh deal)
my assorted cables, wall adapters, etc.
And it’s a lot more comfortable to carry even one-strap-style than any other laptop bag I’ve had, because of the back padding (which also helps keep the contents of the laptop bag and suitcase from crunching each other when they’re zipped together).
This looks like it’s bigger and has even more compartments for stuff, so I’m going to say that for $18, it’s a definite buy.
My kid had a backpack of this brand last school year… It took me several weeks to realize that they were probably trying to call themselves “fuel” and not “fool”. This is the only time I’ll ever say this: someone needs to learn about umlauts.
Wasn’t too impressed by the quality as it didn’t make it through the school year (elementary kids, amirite?), but that one was $20 at Target so I wasn’t too surprised.
This is my favorite brand of backpack. I only just stopped using them because I had to switch to a waterproof pack with a roll down top (I bike commute and carry a work laptop now which can’t be allowed to get wet). I don’t know about they guy who bought it at Target for $20. Mine have always been the more expensive models, ~$40-ish. Maybe that’s the difference.
Big, thick zippers. Well thought out pockets. Thickly padded straps that don’t hurt. Love Ful.
@lera I see that it’s $40 now, so it must’ve been on sale. Not very good reviews for that backpack on the target website, either. It’s probable that there are down-market models that they sell through certain retailers, aimed at cheap parents… Anyway, from the glowing reviews here, I’d say that my experience wasn’t typical
@Superllama7 I think you’re right about the down-market model. I’ve noticed that in clothing, too. A distinctly cheaper feel and wear on clothes by the same brand that are bought more cheaply at department stores.
How can we tell which line this model comes from when its sold on Meh, and so divorced of any context?
I would never buy another product made by this company. I wouldn’t have it even if it were free because their customer service is on par with Comcast. Bought one the last round of backpacks from FuL and within a few days of use, a seam in the bottom between a an empty pocket in the front and the central compartment was totally opened up. Clearly a defect since there was nothing in the area where the seam was. Their service asked for pics which I sent and then followed up twice more and never received a response. Anyway, too bad since it is a good design, but bad service.
I bought the combination backpack/carry-on one they had the last time. I love the carry-on, but am not as fond of the backpack. It does not seem to have enough volume to the front pockets of it for the things I normally carry in a backpack when traveling (or home for that matter). Reading here, someone is just using it for electronics, I may give that a try. Occasionally the zippers snag but what zippers don’t?
Not in for this one, but will experiment with the one I have and may be up for it next time.
I got one last time, and I’m very happy with it. When loaded with a 16 inch Lenovo, dress shoes and a light jacket, it fits perfectly into the saddlebag of a Kawasaki Concours 14.
I bought this backpack 3 years ago and TODAY I checked out this listing again and FOUND OUT THAT IT HAD A LAPTOP POCKET. THE WHOLE TIME. I must have forgotten about it after ordering, and it’s pretty well hidden. I feel like a fool.
How the heck am I going to make margaritas with this?
@mike808 You’ll find a way, I’m sure.
@mike808 bet it’s big enough to hold a blender

Mr. T approved.
You Fūl!!!
Apparently the laptop compartment does NOT have a zipper. I’d rather my $1500 laptop not fall out, thank you.
@Mehsturbator it definitely does, unless meh took the zippers off.
@adamselby zooming in on the sleeve image on my tiny phone display… not seeing any signs of a zipper on that sleeve.
Seems unlikely but not seeing it.
@adamselby Amazon Q&A has the seller saying no and two other people saying yes. It’s odd.
@Mehsturbator if you look at the picture blown up on a monitor, right near the bottom you can see the zipper by the laptop
@RedOak I bought one last time, and it has a zipper. So unless meh cut them off before selling it for $2 less this time then it has a zipper.
@Mehsturbator I own this bag and it has a zipper.
I pity the Fūl that can’t zipper their laptop sleeve.
You can put stuff in these. I currently have stuff, so I bought one. Oh, and I got a great order number this time: bent-frail-leg

I could use a new, as my nephew says, packpack.

Why buy a ‘Ful’ backpack - empty one works better to carry your things in—
@AttyVette Microsoft sells an MT Backpack, but it’s $150. Just buy a Ful one and MT it out yourself.
I bought this about 6 months ago here and I love it, use it every day.
/giphy I love it
What size laptop will this sleeve accept? My 17" has been rejected before. Never again.
@ESQuireTech In the Specs section it says it fits a 15 inch one.
@ESQuireTech The only backpack that fits my M18X:
Monster Alienware Laptop Backpack
so many ful puns. it’s killing me
Back at it again? Well pack it up and leave now!

After mulling it over for a while I have decided to purchase this lovely sack of yours.

Not an inpackFul product.
You’d have to be a ful to buy this. I’ve officially hit rock button
@norman8 Awesome! While you are down there could you grab my car keys?

@mike808 Lovely picture of the Milwaukee River.
Neat. I have one in my truck I use to keep truck stuff. (Bungee cords, tie downs, tarps, my trailer hitch ball receiver thingy, and some Multi-tools)
I need a new work backpack. I’ll buy one.

@mediocrebot Pigachu?
Is this even a TSA compliant backpack? The side sleeve for laptops don’t zip up
@tinkleondabeach to hell with the TSA. My trusty old Swiss Army laptop pack has one.
@tinkleondabeach It’s not “TSA compliant” but then if you travel more than a couple times a year, you sign up for TSA Pre-check and then every laptop bag is TSA compliant. And the side sleeve does zip up.
So, the side entry pocket for your laptop puts it directly against your back? Really?
@KenC It’s padded. I have an Ogio backpack right now with a side entry laptop compartment, and I actually really like it.
