Since they were a Mother’s Day gift and the link shows a women’s shoe I thought that maybe she might like those. I know how my wife is about not showing an sock at all with those type of low cut shoes.
@DocBJ In addition, I STRONGLY recommend adding some gel insoles. Walking, and especially standing, in Chucks feels almost like you’re barefoot on concrete. The Lunarlon insole in the All Star II is much better, by comparison, but still not ideal.
@DocBJ
Those little pom-poms (for keeping the heels of the socks from riding down into the shoes) used to get broken connection threads and fall off a lot under the stress of normal childhood behavior.
high tops: wear any socks as long as they aren’t above the upper part of the shoes, and make sure you wear them with jeans or something vintage, along with maybe a sweater, jacket, or anything that doesn’t look stupid
If you’re going shoeless, remember to buy moleskin patches at some point in the future or fashion your own. They’re not pertinent, but they’re nice to have.

I think you have to be younger that we Old Farts to see it and think about it that way. It’s a “thing” that is part of the language of being tribally young.
Nothing against being a bit tribally young, if someone has the legit cred of actually being legit young. The parts of it where I was out with my friends or having adventures was often a lot of fun.
I can’t speak much to the style side of things, but with the leather Chucks you definitely want socks for the sake of your feet not blistering. I have a pair of the black leather hi-tops, and because they’re my “dressy” Chucks I don’t wear them so often so they’re not as broken in as some of my other pairs, but even with athletic socks, by the end of the day my feet are slightly tender.
Thanks for all the tips! I appreciate all the advice, glad I can share among my mediocre-ites.
Can’t wear them to work…steel toe shoes only.
No pom pom socks for me, just another thing for my Chihuahua ankle sniffer to attempt to bite off.
Low cut socks look like they would feel annoying.
Not sure if I want the cuff/roll up jeans look, will try it in future.
Definitely getting the gel insoles and moleskins. Too wimpy to deal with getting a foot blister.
Leather…in Phoenix , AZ in the summer…hot enough to get an ankle tattoo.
@Aznatural1 My low cut socks are actually above the top of my shoes. That’s why I buy black ones because they match the insides of my shoes. I hate when socks are below the top of my shoes. So uncomfortable.

The images on Google say no socks but I think your feet would sweat. Happy Mother’s Day!
wear these with your new chucks.

@mrapathy there’s a better men’s version

I wear them with full socks, but I wear pants so doesn’t really matter.
@Ignorant I should’ve looked at the link too. I wear high tops.
Wear with peds, ideally the kind that have the little pom-pom on the back.

@DocBJ do they even still make those?

Low cut socks that match the interior color of your shoes.
wear whatever matches your poodle skirt.
here’s the best way to wear chuck taylors

Low: wear no show socks ( https://www.amazon.com/Sperry-Top-Sider-Solid-Canoe-Liner/dp/B00INP2ZVG/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1494794471&sr=1-1&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=sperry+no+show+socks ) and wear khakis or jeans (preference) but nothing baggy. Wear long sleeve shirts if you want, but these are suitable for any shirt, or sweater, etc.
mid: go trade them in for a high top or low
@legendornothing
We want pix. Know anyone who would model some fashion tips for us?
I think it has to be someone young. We’re mostly too old and no-longer-young and stuff.
If you’re going shoeless, remember to buy moleskin patches at some point in the future or fashion your own. They’re not pertinent, but they’re nice to have.
Also ALWAYS CUFF YOUR PANTS

I am truly a lazy, sloppy, Fashion Neanderthal.
Perhaps I’ll go back to “not looking sharp” now.
@legendornothing I’m sorry. Those rolled up pants look like they’re walking through a flood.

Wear what you like.
Skip the rolled up cuffs.
