First morning walk since the stupid time change
9It’s finally light enough out and the rains have stopped (for a while, anyway). We don’t walk in the dark (no sidewalks, hilly and curvy area and so many people don’t understand that 25 MPH is NOT the minimum speed).
This morning we walked out of the house and it was so quiet. Usually, we can hear the river roar of the morning traffic on the freeways (they’re miles away from us).
This morning, we only heard birds.
It was sweet.

I should go for a walk. It sounds nice.
What is it like, this “outside” you speak of?

@medz Walking is fine if there aren’t people around. You can’t give it to birds.
@sammydog01 I read the virus can survive in a freezer for 2 years. Are you telling me nobody else is going to walk out there in two years?
@medz @sammydog01 it’s freezing outside?
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 I don’t know where people live

san Diego. It’s not like the neighborhood streets, the ones with no sidewalks, are crawling with people. And I’m not touching anything.
Just an idea of where we walk (and this was before the shelter in place). The only reason we haven’t been walking is the dark and the weather.

You sneeze while walking and droplets get on the door handle of that car. Weary nurse rubs his eyes after driving that car to work. Boom. Corona’d.
@medz @RiotDemon @sammydog01 I sneeze into my elbow.
Seriously, I’m in more danger of being run over than giving someone the virus on our walks. I haven’t left the house in three weeks.

“The State of California has issued a Stay-at-Home order due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This requires Californians to stay at home with certain exceptions, including caregiving, getting necessary health care, purchasing groceries and working to support an essential industry. San Diegans are still able to participate in outdoor activities such as walking, jogging and biking, as long as they follow the social distancing requirement of at least six feet and gatherings of no more than 10 people. Limiting exposure is the best action to take to stop the spread of COVID-19.”

@medz I see you’ve met my neighborhood kids. They set up a mountain bike trail in the woods. It’s good for walking my dog.

Not touching your face is a basic skill set for medical professionals even in good times.
@chienfou @sammydog01 he just washed his hands before getting into his car

AND HE’S DRIVING RIGHT TO YOUR YOUR HOUSE TO CHANGE YOUR DIAPER @medz! AEEEEE!
@medz @sammydog01 good thing he sanitized his door handle when he left work too

Each day when I walk to pick up my lunch, downtown Seattle is so weirdly empty too.
