@Telanis For diamonds in the near colorless range (G,H,I,J), their color tints are very hard to differentiate in the face up view. To most untrained eyes, the G and H colors would face up white if the diamonds are well cut.
However, these are just $80 and 1/4 carat each. So it’s not like you have people staring at them.
Besides, if anyone comes up to you and complains your about shitty diamonds, tell them to buy you an upgrade if they feel so strongly about it, otherwise tell them to go fuck themselves.
If you like sparklies and have the budget, go for it. Don’t buy into the deBeers marketing.
The Cut looks like Round Brilliant and each is 1/4 Carats. What are the other 2 Cs, Clarity and Color? Are these manufactured diamonds that don’t these two unique Cs? Don’t get C sick on me.
Per overall 3.2-star reviews at Kohls (link in description above) you aren’t getting a pair of diamond solitaires, rather a clump of smaller diamonds. A few have complained that they pretty much fell apart.
Most people say they look very nice and look like solitaires unless examined very closely.
@tweezak my point is more it’s a little meh to list the comparable price as $210 when it’s (probably) $99 and not list it’s a cluster(and what that means) in the specs where you would look.
But we all know the meh staff are far from meh so… Eh shit happens.
Look at the first picture closely. You can see that what looks like a single-diamond stud is actually four smaller diamonds in a cluster, with silver inclusions on the edges to give the illusion of a single diamond. Super sneaky.
Can someone from Meh confirm if these have 8 stones per ring, or 16? I can only spot 8 stones per ring (the four big ones, and then the four in the corners.) Thanks!
I’m considering buying them to have diamonds to mess around with, but from what I can tell “CTTW” refers to the total carat weight of everything you’re getting here, so the 1/2 carat means a total of 1/2 carat for the two earrings (1/4 carat each.) Then, the “fifth and fine” page claims there are 16 stones per earring. I can only seem to find 8 (the four large ones, and then the four in the corners) but the weight seems to be 90% taken up by the four large ones.
So it seems to me that very roughly, each earring is made of four 0.05ct diamonds + twelve 0.004ct diamonds or four 0.05ct diamonds + four 0.01ct diamonds. (Depends on whether there are 8 or 16 stones per ring.) So with both earrings, you either get a total of (roughly) 8x0.05ct + 24x0.004ct or 8x0.05ct + 8x0.01ct.
The tiny diamonds are practically worthless, you can pick them off of any cheapish diamond costume jewelry, they’re not really fun to add to anything and I’d imagine that they’ll be near impossible to work with due to their size. The larger diamonds are on the small end of usable. Assuming they’re 0.05ct each, they’d be around 2.3mm in diameter.
You can get a 20-pack of similarly sized (2.1mm diameter) HPHT diamonds (which means lab grown) on Aliexpress for $145 shipped. Or a 30-pack of 2.0mm for $190, or 30x1mm for $42, or 5x4mm for $533, or 6x3.5mm for $349, or 10x3mm for $275, or 1x5mm (0.5ct) for $500, or 1ct for $900. So, this actually is a good price for the size, especially considering that lab grown is cheaper than natural.
My only remaining concern is that they’re fairly small. Assuming they’re 2.3mm in diameter, that’s around the size of the lead in a wooden pencil. It may just be better to bite the bullet and go with something larger (3mm is ~$27/stone, 3.5mm ~$58/stone, 4mm ~$100/stone for lab grown.)
(hopefully my rambling helped at least one other weirdo considering using these loose)
Lived next to the instructor of a diamond cutting school. Learned a lot, for years. Remembered most when buying. Never buy online, especially here. Absolute crap from five angles already discussed extensively. .
So they took all the crushed up diamonds that usually go on saw blades, etc. and glued them into a rock? I would rather have a solid fake diamond. (Diamonds aren’t really that expensive, it is the big chunks and cut that gets you. This is neither.)
Just got them yesterday. Pretty much the worst thing I’ve purchased off this website. The stones are so cloudy that they look like 4 little snowballs. The only thing that sparkles is the stud, the ‘diamonds’ look like crummy little pearls.

Too late for father’s day
Gotta add the color to these specs. I assume they’re probably piss-colored at this price point, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Has a pic of the colors but the greater issue is the clarity grade; I2 has imperfections.
@seraphimcaduto @Telanis
I2-I3 is visible inclusions (flaws in the crystal).

@mike808 @seraphimcaduto @Telanis but but but
/youtube dah bears
This isn’t terrible…what gives? Clarity and color are meh but not terrible for the price.
The Cut looks like Round Brilliant and each is 1/4 Carats. What are the other 2 Cs, Clarity and Color? Are these manufactured diamonds that don’t these two unique Cs? Don’t get C sick on me.
@hchavers the clarity/color were in the certification link in the specs. I2-I3 and I-J minimum
If these really sell at Kohl’s for $210 then they are really with <$40.
Tempted. Will think about it overnight. If here in the AM…well, have to look at the bank account…and probably think some more.
It feels like Meh might be trying to encourage us to get back to civility, and stop being rag bags.
Sparkly

@ciabelle Hmm. Really. So these are pavé diamonds, basically. That should be more prominent that these are NOT solitaires.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@ciabelle @mike808 The first bullet on the main page says “diamond clusters” was that added in the last 20 mins?
@ciabelle I was going to say they look like 4 round diamonds in each mount but you beat me to it. You get what you pay for.
Glad the person above mentioned that the item sold is diamond clusters not a single diamond. Makes a big difference!
Hmm this appears to be them.

The 1/2 carat weight straight from the manufacturer is $99 not $210. And 16 stones per earring. So. Eh…
Not that the reviews are bad but. Come on meh.
@unksol What? You want something even more meh? What else are you coming here for?
@tweezak my point is more it’s a little meh to list the comparable price as $210 when it’s (probably) $99 and not list it’s a cluster(and what that means) in the specs where you would look.

So, these were 8x0.05ct for $80 or $10 each. The next cheapest from Meh brands is these:
at $29 or $14.50 per 0.05ct diamond
Kohls is the epitome of meh. Just by referencing them, I have had as much meh as I can handle in a single day.

Will these get caught on my Jockeys if I use one one my peen piercing???
@Bumplepimp idk. How jagged were you cut?
VVVVVVVVVI7

After reading the reviews - No Thank You!
@Kezrms Cheese & Crackers…what are you even doing here???
If everything is such shite…I really have to question your motives here.
