@davea510 Bastardizing what is a traditionally healthy Japanese food, by adding McFatty American oil and breadding is one of the best ideas I’ve heard all day
I’m gonna have to try this with some of that $2 clearance WalMart sushi. Is there a trick to breading it?
The wife hated sushi, or so she said. It was actually the nori (the dark green seaweed) she didn’t like. When I convinced her to try sushi with rice or soy paper she found out she loved it. Sushi is on the menu about half the times we eat out now.
So, I’m not sure who can help me with this problem, but my profile shows that I have not voted on this poll, but the poll shows that I have. Maybe a bug you should be aware about? @dave@othermehemployees
I love sushi. I even have a set for home cooking. Today in my container I bring sushi with eel and onion. It’s my favorite Friday lunch. Bon appetit for me
I have an uncle who was a sushi chef. When we have thanksgiving dinner he makes an entire sushi platter and homemade dumplings and shumai. Thanksgiving with my family rocks.
@ACraigL I love shumai but I don’t eat shrimp and the only place you can get shumai in town is at a couple of enormous buffets where you never really know what you’re getting unless it’s obvious. The couple of times I tried them they had shrimp. The food at these buffets is great, but I can’t trust the shumai. Love them in San Francisco there there are little shops that sell nothing but a dozen different varieties of shumai so you can order pork or chicken and that’s what you get.
We have a local sushi restaurant that set up shop in an old Taco Bell. They take drive thru sushi orders. You’d think that would be something to avoid but they’re actually pretty good and decently priced. We stop there 2-3 times a month now.
Most fish is too overpowering for me (cooked or not), but I’ve explored some and found a few raw sushi that I enjoy. Surf clams and squid are good, and there’s a local place that has another that’s slipped my mind (I want to say white snapper, maybe? I know when I see it).
I’ve never liked salmon or tuna, so that puts a lot of popular sushi out of my range.
@daveinwarsh i went to a conveyor belt place a couple nights ago in puyallup and they had a plate of bacon wrapped asparagus skewers. i ate em. no regrets.
Too many people think sushi is raw fish but it’s not.
@cengland0 the first time I had it it included sausage. It’s good with cooked fish, or canned tuna/mayo, or even boiled shrimp
@cengland0 If it’s made from fully cooked bacon, sausage and cheese, I’ll eat that sushi.
@cengland0 Too true! I love inari!
@cengland0 It’s not not raw fish either though. Either way, I love sashimi.
@cengland0

Damn, that’s some expensive bait!
I like mine deep-fried
@davea510 so not traditional, but super good!

I pretty much just like Spicy Mayo.
My wife is Japanese, and we make sushi pretty often at home! It’s super easy, extremely inexpensive, and super tasty!
So ya, I guess I super like sushi

@Mehrocco_Mole this is why I usually stick to sashimi or nigiri. If it has spicy mayo on it, I can usually eat the nori… So it’s grown on me slightly.
@Mehrocco_Mole I think most people hate sushi until they try it

@medz I very much prefer putting this on sushi to putting feelings on it.
No sushi. No, no, no. No sushi. No.
@Ignorant
/image would you eat it sam I am
@Ignorant
@Chops Time stamps don’t work on here I guess. Damn dawg
@Chops use ?start=xx, it’s a stealth mehdown feature.

@dave @othermehemployees
@DVDBZN maybe they finally fixed that privacy concern
Just wanted to say that I actually have watched “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”
@KMakato Same here. Curious how many people even have a clue what that option is about.
@Turken nope, no idea. Had to Google it.
@RiotDemon ditto

@Avalora Are you telling me sushi is actually a taco?
@jmoor783 They actually have sushi burritos on their menu. So…almost?
@jmoor783
All good things actually turn out good o be Tacos in the Philosophical Dimension Universe. .
I’m into poke bowls now. Sushi ingredients over rice with a sweet soy or ponzu sauce. Yum.
@jmoor783 pic
@jmoor783 I didn’t know that had a name. I made it at home and called it “lazy gaijin sushi”.
@jmoor783 I didn’t understand poke bowls until I read that. Thank you.
Overrated.
@arielleslie Your mom is overrated
@Chops You are not wrong.
I like sushi well enough, but a bowl of legitimate ramen makes me swoon, as do most things from an izakaya.
I love California roll, Philadelphia roll, and veggie rolls or crab based sushi. Mostly because I love ginger and wasabi.
@moondrake Ginger and wasabi are amazing. I always eat any leftover ginger with wasabi and soy sauce after the other food is gone.
@moondrake I hate wasabi but absolutely adore ginger.
@Kawa I like Ginger, but adore MaryAnn

@Nuurgle I don’t do tuna either, or mayo. Makes deciding what I want slightly easier.
BBQ Bacon Sushi

@meh I mean it’s not that far off from asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, which is delicious. I’m sure it was tasty.
