Feature request: morning save links to past sales
8Item link to morning save…
When something is past I know you link to amazon. Any chance of linking to morning save then amazon? It may give you more of a return on your site and keep loyalty to you rather than an affiliate link credit to amazon.
I wonder with your fun of model numbers if something fun can be done that way

What? They link to the evil empire? LOL
/giphy blasphemy I say. blasphemy
I too would love to see this.
That wouldn’t be a feature, more of a bug.
@sohmageek So you want them to link to a place where they sell the same thing for more money? Yeah, that’ll turn out well.
@therealjrn I’d love to save 30% of what I’d pay to amazon if it’s on sale at morning save for 20% more than meh sold it for.
@sohmageek Yes, you and I understand this. But all those “other people” will bitch about the higher price.
@therealjrn fine. Make it on the order screen next to the discuss or I have a problem make a reorder (if available) link
@therealjrn when it’s sold out here the price is no longer advertised. (Yes, I know it can be had, but it’s not on the buy button anymore).
You’ve already mentioned the problem I see, though. If they can’t be assed to change the write-ups that mention price for morningsave, then keeping up with sales going up and coming down on morningsave is right out unless it’s automated. It wouldn’t be that hard to automate, though.
@sohmageek don’t forget to take the 10% we get off the 20% markup that makes 30% savings for carrying our V cards.
@djslack nah take you to the next sale page. Not a buy from the original page just take me to the next sale page.
@sohmageek yes, just like the Amazon links do now, right?
@djslack yes
I think it’s a good idea, but the issue I see with it is when the item sells out at Morningsave they will need to remember to comeback and change it to their amazon affiliate link at that time.
@Ignorant Considering they don’t even bother to change the ad copy to reflect the higher MS price…I don’t think they’ll come back to meh to change the blurb here.
Mehbe just have a section of Morningsave devoted to meh.com replays?
Oh wait, they already have that.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Ignorant if they did a item lookup based upon serial and directed to a url amazon or morningsave it could work. But they would need to program it as such. A redirect to a redirect. The juice may not be worth the squeeze but it may get them more potential dollars. Who knows. Maybe a subscribe to this item alert email for when it’s on sale at any of their links (perhaps checkout.org could get some love that way too… if it’s still used!
@sohmageek
You’re describing what a young, hungry company might do. I don’t get the impression meh.com is all that hungry for sales.
Look, I’m not against your ideas and I actually think it would help. But how many shoppers go back to an expired sale?
I think a robust search linking to Morningsave would be cool…oh wait…they’re beta-testing one right now.
@therealjrn true. But I still want the feature goat! :p.
