FC40 gimbal/mods?

So I bought my phantom before Meh was around, and got my hands on an FC40. Basically a Phantom 1 but with 5.8GHz control system and a Wi-Fi camera.

Now I'm getting the itch for a gimbal and a camera upgrade. I'm guessing that the same Phantom gimbal controllers should work, but just was wondering if anyone had any FC40 gimbal experience or recommendations.

There's an adapter plate on eBay that lets you use any Phantom gimbal. No experience, I just recall seeing them......
