Favorite skeleton pics in the wild.
11Just got back from a trip to the Poconos where I saw a ton of Halloween decorations out. Saw a couple of giant skeletons walking giant skeleton dogs and several others while we were driving around, but never really had time to stop and take a picture. Found this guy in the airport in Newark on our way home and thought I would open this up to the meh community to show us their favorites.

So where is your photo of the airport guy? No active link.
@Kidsandliz
Stupid phone on landscape drops the keyboard over the top of the photo insert and makes it a pain in the ass to do. Finally got it up. Sorry about that delay. (Had to edit it three times before I finally got it to post!)
@chienfou @Kidsandliz I guess the service is really slow in that airport bar, huh?
@chienfou @Kyeh Locally a clinic usually has a full sized skeleton with a witch’s hat on doing something. Last year it was taking a blood pressure. The year before it was at a computer in the check in area. I haven’t been buy there yet to see what it is doing this year. A receptionist is the one who owns the skeleton and dreams up what it will be doing.

Went on a fall foliage train trip with my dad and there was a yard that had quite a few. Slowed the video to 1/2 to make it easier, but see if you can find them all!
@ybmuG Fun! It still goes by awfully fast.
@Kyeh yeah, maybe I’ll try 1/3
@Kyeh

Here it is at 1/4
@ybmuG Oh, yeah - much easier to see! They’ve had fun with that big yard.
@Kyeh I have to say I think this guy’s my favorite.
And yes, the mower was moving!
@Kyeh @ybmuG
Yowza… That’s nuts!
@chienfou @ybmuG That’s so clever!
@chienfou @Kyeh it was going in a fairly tight circle. Not sure how they did it. I didn’t see a tether, but i can’t imagine they just locked the wheels in a turn and let it go. We were a couple hundred feet away and moving.
@Kyeh @ybmuG
Pretty ingenious at any rate!
There is a house in our neighborhood that does a different skeleton arrangement everyday in October. This is one of them…
@januarymick
Love this. Way to make the neighbors paranoid!
@chienfou @januarymick love the dog - especially the ears!
@januarymick
That’s such a fun idea
Probably not Bill Gates’ house…
@walarney
There are a couple of giant skeletons that live year round on the shores of Lake Martin.
Had I seen this yesterday I could have taken a pic of the skeleton human and skeleton dog wating to be seen at the vet. Charlie was quite curious about them and they provided ample distraction while waiting for his turn w the Vet.
Came across this one evening…
@januarymick
OMG… That is epic!
My daughter’s: one taking a “bubble bath” while the others add vegetables
@ladyhawke001 Clever!
George has been rather kookie over the years here. I could only find two pics in my phone, but he does something different every year.
@tinamarie1974 Love the Stanley Cup pic!
@januarymickThanks! I actually did a graveyard at his feet and each tombstone had a picture if a team beat on the road to the cup. It was cute.
@tinamarie1974 Oh, I love that idea! You have a full size Stanley cup replica?!
Also, what’s he doing this year?
@Kyeh it is a picture that I blew up and mounted on cardboard. I tricked a few friends though
Unsure what George will be up to this year. Still have to dig him out of the basement.
@tinamarie1974 Well done! It looks so real!
Is facebook The Wild?
@blaineg
No… But it is ‘the wild west’…
Love this one! (Especially the kid in the trailer)
@blaineg @chienfou This made me laugh since I used to accidentally run over my dogs’ bones (the ones they dragged into the yard, not the ones in their bodies) while mowing.
Another “not mine” photo.
@blaineg
Why is it this make me think of a Far Side cartoon?
’ another overlong Zoom meeting that should have been an email…’
@blaineg
Well… today is Halloween and it looks like your link has disappeared. Fortunately someone below re-posted the skeleton zoom meeting.
@blaineg
but I do kind of like the rubber ducky!
@blaineg
I’m bummed your links all seem to have disappeared.
@chienfou Never trust the internet.
At the local medical center last year and the year before. The receptionist is the mastermind behind these and it is her skeleton and witch’s hat.
and without the hat (originally she didn’t have one for it but bought one)
@Kidsandliz love this
@tinamarie1974 I am glad no one higher up makes her remove what she does each year. Radiology always puts up paper bats but I like what she does better.
@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974
We used to decorate the halls in the hospital for Christmas years ago. State inspectors had a shit-fit and made us discontinue doing that. Some people have no sense of humor
(Our radiology department occasionally has live bats that are attracted to the sounds that the CT scanner makes. That’s always exciting!)
@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974
Looked through this thread with my wife yesterday and she read the above line as “live bats ATTACHED” to the CT scanner… pretty sure PETA (& the state inspectors) would have a shit fit.
@chienfou @tinamarie1974
Joint Commission would too.
@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974
Tonight (in front of the local produce stand)
Hey @tinamarie1974, care to update us with what George is up to this year?
@chienfou honestly Ive not decided yet, nor have I made my way down into my spooky basement to dig him out. Hate going down there!!
I will let you know once I figure it out

@blaineg
Nice! (Though I do agree that the classic hand block would have been a good addition.)
These are all in about a block and a half on the same street. And I didn’t take pics of all of them.
@ybmuG
NICE!!
@chienfou the juicy ones in the second picture are something new to me.
@ybmuG Geez - looks like they’re competing to do the most elaborate display!
@Kyeh @ybmuG
Wow! Where in the world do you store all that crap in between halloween’s!
@chienfou @ybmuG Good point!
@chienfou @Kyeh @ybmuG It looks like much of it is inflatable.
A lady I work with does what her family calls The Bones Family… every week is a different thing going on in their yard and they go all out.
This isn’t hers, but I did find it entertaining.
(Not my photo)
Seen nearby
@Kyeh omg! Creepy!!!
@Kyeh @tinamarie1974
Gotta say… the squirrel’s a nice touch!
Not a pic, but …
At the local Goodwill
@ybmuG That’s so stupid!
@Kyeh @ybmuG but I love it
I keep seeing cool ones when I don’t have time to stop and photograph them … hoping they stay up a little longer but we’re supposed to get snow soon so they probably won’t.
I didn’t get a photo, but my friend parked his classic Beetle on the lawn, with a skeleton caught under the rear wheel.
