@show_the_maw I assume that people who champion Keaton and complained when Affleck was cast are too young to remember the outrage when the funny guy from Mr. Mom and Johnny Dangerously was cast. It was history repeating.
@tinamarie1974 I have always been amazed at how unflattering the Linda Carter’s Wonder Woman costume is. Linda Carter is beautiful, and that’s really what they went with…
@chienfou@tinamarie1974 They could have improved massively on the Linda Carter Wonder Woman costume without making it sexier.
I can only imagine the designer’s mental conversation.
"We need to cinch her waist in a little more… A little more… No, a LOT more. It doesn’t look like she’s wearing a big, blue diaper at all yet.
“No, don’t shape the damn thing like her body! Squeeze her body into the costume! I don’t care where her breasts attach to her torso! What are you doing, you slacker!”
@compunaut comic book Green Arrow, or the CW “I’m as close to Batman as we could get” Green Arrow? (note:this is not necessarily a complaint about CW Green Arrow)
@regnowsin a friend is a huge Blue Beetle fan. He was once at a comicon and got picked to be on stage for trivia with some comic creators. A Blue Beetle question came up and we have a video of him grinning like a Cheshire Cat.
Edison was all about DC, so I guess my favorite DC character was Edison. OK, you found out about DC. What about AC? I mean, Tesla was all about AC, and everybody loves Tesla, right?
I want to say The Flash. At least from the comics when I was a kid. I always liked Firestorm as well, but I don’t think they really explored that character very well.
Mon-El (from the comics, not the Supergirl TV show) or any of several other LHS members (from silver age comics, not cartoon) like Triplicate Girl/Duo Damsel, Cosmic Boy, Brainic Five, Lightning Lad, etc.
But Mon-El can do anything Superboy can do but isn’t hurt by Kryptonite, so that’s a win.
@craigthom Who was the hero in LHS that retired because every time he used his powers it reduced his life by one day? I have been racking my brain ever since watching the show “Invincible” which has a character called Monster Girl that has sort of the opposite happen: using her powers causes her to age backwards, so she looks about 12 even though she is 26 years old.
Too, too many characters (that aren’t necessarily SUPER). Dr. Fate, The Creeper, Deadman, Kamandi, Robotman, Mister Miracle, Lobo, Vril Dox, Swamp Thing…
Growing up, though, my favorite comics were probably House of Mystery and House of Secrets, so Cain and Abel have to join the crew.
Was He Man a dc character? I was obsessed with he man when I was really little. I had a lot of the original comics sitting in a high shelf in my closet at my dads house and brother threw them away without even asking me. At least I still have my action figures.
OMG I TOTALLY FORGOT: Dial H for Hero (from House of Mystery)!!! Best hero ever because it’s a different hero with different powers every time!!!
Robby Reed became Squid, Quake-Master, King Coil, Hornet-Man, Shadow-Man, Mighty Moppet, King Kandy, Future-Man, Human Bullet, Super-Charge, the Mole, Mr. Echo, Hypno-Man, the Cometeer and the Human Starfish (I remembered the series, but had to look up the heroes).
@goldnectar Good point. I also hate the way they make everything dark and sinister, like “Riverdale” - that’s just wrong. They could have made the same show without pretending it’s about the Archie gang.
Keaton Batman is best Batman.
@show_the_maw Great character, great movie, terrible batman.
@simplersimon well that’s like, your opinion man
/giphy the dude
@show_the_maw well… that gif changed the whole tone of the comment
@simplersimon we don’t pick the gif the gif picks you…. That said way not what I would have chose.
@show_the_maw I assume that people who champion Keaton and complained when Affleck was cast are too young to remember the outrage when the funny guy from Mr. Mom and Johnny Dangerously was cast. It was history repeating.
@show_the_maw Buster Keaton?
Cassandra Cain as Batgirl. With a nod to Barbara Gordon as Oracle.
Lobo
Beast Boy
Constantine.
Micro-Face.
I tried, but I just can’t make myself care…
If I said Superman would anyone believe me??
/giphy laughter
/giphy Wonder Woman
@tinamarie1974 No, but it would have been funny!
@tinamarie1974 I have always been amazed at how unflattering the Linda Carter’s Wonder Woman costume is. Linda Carter is beautiful, and that’s really what they went with…
@Limewater @tinamarie1974
the mid 70’s costumes were not as sexy as they are today.
@chienfou @tinamarie1974 They could have improved massively on the Linda Carter Wonder Woman costume without making it sexier.

HAUT!
@f00l @kerryzero @Kyeh @tinamarie1974 Well…this isn’t the thread I though I was starting…
I blame The Googs.

@ironcheftoni I love Teen Titans Go! It’s so ridiculous.
@Fuzzalini [The Night Begins to Shine][1]
I’ve always been a fan of Specter.
@weatherseed I hope you meant Spectre and not Arlen.
@weatherseed …and I forgot the Spectre. Definitely one of my favorites, and the glow-in-the-dark cover from the 90s was awesome
DIPLOMAT! RAT-A-TAT! FAT CAT! AWESOME!
Green Arrow, on Batman’s off days
@compunaut comic book Green Arrow, or the CW “I’m as close to Batman as we could get” Green Arrow? (note:this is not necessarily a complaint about CW Green Arrow)
Shazam! I got it … err, no, too lame too.
Miss Lint. Or is she AC?
Batman, must be voiced by Kevin Conroy.
Azrael and Lobo
@SpocKirk
Also Dogwelder
Cassandra Cain when she was Batgirl.
Silver Age Hal Jordan.
I always look for highly sought out items that sell on a website designed to sell things that don’t sell???
Is LEGO Batman considered a DC hero? Because he’s by far the best Batman out there.
Hawkman!
Cannot wait for Black Adam movie with JSA
Ted Kord Blue Beetle from JLI

@indiebass Probably my two favorites too.

@DrWorm That doesn’t sound familiar, but if it happened after 1970 I’m probably not going to know it.
I did leave out Chameleon Boy, and i apologize for that.
Just going to say it… Matter Eating Lad… best DC Super Hero ever
@Koolhandjoe Fellow Legionnaire Bouncing Boy will not yield title of “best DC Super Hero ever” without a fight
I second RBG!!

Superman, hands down, but in the abstract. Could never really into superheroes.
I have so much Hollywood/TV super hero fatigue, I hate them all. DC, Marvel…pick. I wish being creative would come back over remaking old ideas.
@goldnectar Good point. I also hate the way they make everything dark and sinister, like “Riverdale” - that’s just wrong. They could have made the same show without pretending it’s about the Archie gang.
Marion Barry… that guy could do some serious drugs.
Blue Beetle. Kord is a happy screw up version of Batman and Iron man. so good.
Aquaman, cause, well,
