@hchavers For those of the pre-Nickelodean era, it gets confusing. Mattel first released a toy called Slime way back in 1976. It was very similar to Gak. It also had a ancestor in Wham-O’s Super Stuff from back in the 1960’s.
What Nickelodean referred to as Slime (at least on Double-Dare) was much more fluid in consistency. My speculation is they intentionally came up with the alternative name Gak, due to what its consumers would expect from a product called Slime. I think there was ultimately a new Slime (associated with the Nickeodean brand) in the stores, that was very similar to the original product (that is, more the consistency of Gak than the Slime from the TV shows).
That’s hilarious. I don’t remember them but I bet they are made out of those biodegradable packing peanuts which are just cheese noodles without the cheese. I’ve totally licked those and made a few figurines.
I remember all that stuff except for the logs.Younger kinds in the neighborhood had the moon shoes, they were fun for a couple mins. I liked the floam the best bc it wasn’t as messy and my brothers couldn’t throw it in my hair.
Nickelodeon! That takes me back. Why, I’d save all week add then I’d hit the boardwalk. Watching the movies, cranking the handles, oh those days! Once, on a lark, old pal Carl tried to sneak a peek at the more risque films. I also liked CatDog.
