That’s hilarious. I don’t remember them but I bet they are made out of those biodegradable packing peanuts which are just cheese noodles without the cheese. I’ve totally licked those and made a few figurines.
@tweezak I remember watching this on R&S and then my 5-year-old daughter turned to me and said, “Daddy, can I have a Log?” Classic - I still tell the story 30 years later.
I was adulting when those things hit the scene. I think I’ve heard of those things but not real sure what they are. When roller skates came out without metal wheels was a life changer though.
I don’t recall Zog Logs, but I do remember Smud and Zzand.
I chose Floam because it was relatively non-messy when compared to Gak. I also remember running all over town trying to find Floam for a niece’s birthday. It brings back some nice memories.
I remember all that stuff except for the logs.Younger kinds in the neighborhood had the moon shoes, they were fun for a couple mins. I liked the floam the best bc it wasn’t as messy and my brothers couldn’t throw it in my hair.
@hchavers For those of the pre-Nickelodean era, it gets confusing. Mattel first released a toy called Slime way back in 1976. It was very similar to Gak. It also had a ancestor in Wham-O’s Super Stuff from back in the 1960’s.
What Nickelodean referred to as Slime (at least on Double-Dare) was much more fluid in consistency. My speculation is they intentionally came up with the alternative name Gak, due to what its consumers would expect from a product called Slime. I think there was ultimately a new Slime (associated with the Nickeodean brand) in the stores, that was very similar to the original product (that is, more the consistency of Gak than the Slime from the TV shows).
Definitely GAK but only because those are my initials.
Or how about some good ol’ slime every time someone would say " I don’t know" on " you can’t do that on television" or also on "Double Dare*
Nickelodeon! That takes me back. Why, I’d save all week add then I’d hit the boardwalk. Watching the movies, cranking the handles, oh those days! Once, on a lark, old pal Carl tried to sneak a peek at the more risque films. I also liked CatDog.
Gak and Floam were both amazing.
Never had the moon shoes. Those looked like ankle breakers anyway.
Wtf is a zog log???

What ARE those things? I guess I was never properly schooled by Classic Nickelodeon.

@macromeh @tweezak whenever I want a log I just drink some coffee.
Alanis Morissette
Gak was the best for making fart noises.
Floam. Do not eat.

@DrWorm I can still smell Floam. Heck, Gak too,

Slime, and it’s offspring is available to buy today.

No idea what any of those are!
I don’t know if I’m too old, too young, or too foreign to know what any of those things are.

Gotta go with the Nickelodeon Blimp that you connected to your hose. The thing was great. Flew through the air and soaked anyone underneath.
@billchase2 that sounds fun.
Those all are modern. None of that crap was around when I was watching Pinwheel on Nickelodeon.
