@daveinwarsh me too, so many. Spent last Sat with a girlfriend sitting under tents in the rain visiting Sumerian, Black Raven, and Maelstrom. It was wonderful!
My favorite brewery is Brouwerij Het Anker, in Belgium. They make my best-loved brew, Gouden Carolus Classic, a Strong Ale - Belgian Dark (see Beer Advocate).
Pretty hard to find. Haven’t managed to score any in over 5 years!
@compunaut I checked out their website - it looks wonderful. I’m curious whether you’ve tried Ommegang, a Belgian-style New York brewery? I’ve had a couple of their beers and liked them.
What I really like though is Kriek lambic, which I first tried in Brussels.
@Kyeh, my favorite is framboise. The downside with most the fruity lambics is very low alcohol content. So if your goal is to get drunk expect to drink a lot of it.
La Cumbre Brewing - New Mexico. The Elevated IPA is amazing! In fact, everything they make is very good. Is this one available in the rest of the country?
Paulanor - Munchen Salvator Double Bock. 7.9% alcohol by volume. I drank a lot of this beer while I was stationed in Germany and Portugal. This beer is amazing and you can buy it at Total Wine and probably other specialty beer outlets throughout the country.
There are a ton of local breweries here in Maryland that rule. My local favorite is Crooked Crab Brewing. They have a good variety of beers and the staff is awesome!
I’m not even the big beer drinker, but in Chicago and surrounds—Pipeworks and Three Floyds.
Where I live now, BARE does a pretty amazing job with variety.
I live in a nowhere area of Virginia. There is a local micro brewery that brews their beer with local ingredients (not too sure of the correct word to use for ingredients). They change up their lineup like every 2 weeks and they have such good flavor. The place is called Dragon Run Brewery. So good!! They also name their beers after local history. They have a story behind each beer so it’s pretty interesting to learn about each one they brew.
@peekass@Star2236 I’ve had good experience in the past at Grand River Brewery in Jackson.
My brother lives in Kalamazoo, so when it’s safe for full-scale travel again…
@cbilyak@sohmageek I wish Casemates had a beer selection every time there was a wine ‘event’.
Or maybe on alternate days - sorta like an alternate Universe!

Guinness.
Good People in Birmingham AL
Starbucks cold brew, lol. I’m allergic to something in beer.
@iluvmingos, you’re not missing anything

I have 3 great microbreweries within 8 miles of me.
They all have amazing beer.
@daveinwarsh me too, so many. Spent last Sat with a girlfriend sitting under tents in the rain visiting Sumerian, Black Raven, and Maelstrom. It was wonderful!

Yuengling
@Koolhandjoe Yuengling.
Polar beverages for their Polar Diet Orange Dry!
Oregon Trader, Albany Oregon. Great burgers too.
Free State, Lawrence, KS. If you like IPA’s, their Yakimaniac is wonderful.
And as Free State says, “Without beer, things do not seem to go as well.”
Covert Artisan Ales, Lupulin, Drekker, Woodgrain, microbrews are great when you get to know the people.
Beer.
@AuntMean67
@AuntMean67
@phendrick Now if it had been a distillery…that would be different.

@compunaut, my favorite (and only beer I’ll drink) is in Belgium as well.
@Kyeh, my favorite is framboise. The downside with most the fruity lambics is very low alcohol content. So if your goal is to get drunk expect to drink a lot of it.
@kittykat9180 My goal is never to get really drunk; a warm glow and softening the edges of the day is just right.
@kittykat9180 @Kyeh
Ah, yes. Hazy evenings at Delirium. I think I remember them better than I probably actually do.
One of the monastery brews, the 12° flavor was just nectar of the gods. Not gonna lie, Brussels ruined all other beers for me.
Except for maybe New Glarus.
Urban Artifact out of Cincinnati Ohio. The Midwest Fruit Tarts are amazing!
The microbrew that started it all… Sierra Nevada
Currently, a toss-up between Spoetzl and Rahr. In either case,
/youtube Beer Is Good
Budweiser isn’t a brewery. It is one of the numerous products churned out by AB InBev.
I will give a shout out to Spoetzl Brewery maker of many delicious Shiner beers like Ruby Redbird.
Speights and Canterbury Draft…preferably enjoyed in New Zealand where they are made!
New Holland.
Wachussett
Gnarly Barley Brewing in Hammond, LA and Urban South in New Orleans, LA. If you’re ever in the area, check them out!
Devil’s Backbone.
Lindeman’s. It’s the only beer that I’ll drink, other wise I’m a wine drinker.
Do people actually still drink Coors, Miller, and Budweiser?
Gnarly Barley and Abita
@KrisAnderson Abita might be my favorite domestic brewery
La Cumbre Brewing - New Mexico. The Elevated IPA is amazing! In fact, everything they make is very good. Is this one available in the rest of the country?

@accelerator no, I’ve never heard of that IPA. Sounds great!
@accelerator, I know someone who owns a brewery in Grants, NM.
Brussels Beer Project in Belgium. Super experimental. Great collaboration with others.
@earl_danger That’s one thick head.
There are a ton of local breweries here in Maryland that rule. My local favorite is Crooked Crab Brewing. They have a good variety of beers and the staff is awesome!

@peekass @Star2236 I’ve had good experience in the past at Grand River Brewery in Jackson.

What? You asked.
Guinness!!
It’s all my heart-burn riddled stomach can handle these days.
Another vote for Guiness for my go-to. For a lighter brew my fave is XXXX from Australia.

@cbilyak I just had my dark lord I got from the exchange. Cellared well
@cbilyak @sohmageek I wish Casemates had a beer selection every time there was a wine ‘event’.

NONE OF THESE HAVE VALUE UNTIL YOUR GOAT RANKS 'EM! AND IF WHINERBOY KAVANAUGHN LIKES THEM, THEY’RE SHIT.
@brainmist Send me linkies on your local breweries! Maybe we’ll pick 'em for a local voucher buy!
There’s so much that’s good locally (Finger Lakes region of NY)
For an IPA, I really like several from Three Heads (https://threeheadsbrewing.com/beers/)
For a stout I like War Horse Brewing’s Breakfast with Churchill Oatmeal Coffee Stout
(https://www.warhorsebrewing.com/)
For an Abbey Ale, Ommegang
(https://www.ommegang.com/beerinfo/abbey-ale/)
Linkies!
