@hchavers Yes but because Santa doesn’t exist it would be a victimless crime.
Don’t get your hopes up. That has never mattered to our judicial system so you’ll still go to prison probably for life fighting wildfires in California.
@jmbunkin I’d agree, but if you think of the Meh! model, looking at the pictures, they are selling brown cardboard boxes full of batteries. They probably have some containers full of these boxes they have to sell, that somehow made it in to port a while back. (unless these are actually made in USA).
So basically you can get a box of batteries, and the AAAs are smaller and therefore more fit into a box. But agree it’s strange pricing.
These can’t be sold at retail since they are in the bulk packaging box.
@jmbunkin Not odd at all to me. It’s odd when stores sell packs of 8 at the same price regardless if you get AA or AAA. AAA should always have been cheaper because there’s less capacity and less materials involved in manufacturing.
C and D batteries have always been more expensive than AA and that made sense so AAA should be a bit cheaper too.
@jmbunkin, I waited too long to edit my comment, so My Bad!! Nevertheless, I think I figured out [after doing me math] what you meant!! The AAAs are 'bout 29¢ each for the 168 batteries & the AAs are about 34½¢ each for 110 of those cheap ass btrys! $o, your right man!! My humble apologies!!
@jonjen2@pmarin
I have run across these several times, but I have yet to see any test results. I know that the companion product, Eveready Gold, is truly awful - and numerous reviews confirm it.
@jonjen2@pmarin
Eveready was the company’s name when they introduced the Energizer, which was their first alkaline battery. Pretty soon, nobody wanted the carbon zinc Evereadys, so that line got dropped, and they changed the company name to Energizer. Now they are introducing a cheaper line under the old name, and the position is reversed. I think the Eveready Gold is a carbon zinc; it certainly “performs” like one.
@arosemena my son is for minimalist packaging and always asks why we overpackage products. Like batteries sealed in plastic or little cardboard boxes (or both), then put in a cardboard box which is put in plastic bubble wrap in yet another cardboard box. Personally I’m with him.
I agree with you and with your son, but all extremes are bad. I just wanted to others that I got a piñata full of batteries.
Maybe I like some order on my batteries.

Received only 162 AAA instead of 168, but received 118 AA instead of 110. Like the last time this deal came around, they shipped me too few AAA batteries, but more than enough AA batteries to make up for it.

Will these run Doom?
It’s too bad they’re never ready, this could be an energizing year coming up!
@fuzzmanmatt Guess who the parent company of Eve-ready is. Think, “What’s Up, Doc?” No, not Mr Buggs Bunny!!
I, for one, genuinely like that Sublimely Stupid Star Wars Joke.
(But isn’t it more of a pun?)
@haydesigner I was going to give it a shout out too. It made me laugh.
I’m going to put it on our “Dad joke of the day” board at work.
When I throw these at Santa, is it Assault with Battery?
@hchavers Yes but because Santa doesn’t exist it would be a victimless crime.
Don’t get your hopes up. That has never mattered to our judicial system so you’ll still go to prison probably for life fighting wildfires in California.
@hchavers, No, it’s called Justifiable Homicide!!
@hchavers Found the Eagles fan. These aren’t D cells, so you’ll have to wrap a bunch together for the same effect.
Am I the only one that reads the names of AA and AAA batteries as horrified screams?
…”silver alkaline” LOL
I can never see a battery ad without thinking about Detroit Tigers baseball.
/image Al Kaline
@katbyter And when you’re talking alkaline Eveready batteries, I can’t help but think of this…
@stinks yes, I’m old enough to remember that.
Odd that the AAA are that much cheaper than the AA.
@jmbunkin not really. Nirmal in stores is about the same

@jmbunkin @pmarin FWIW - the two boxes are different sizes.
@jmbunkin, am I missing something because the AAA batteries are around $49 & the AAs are about $38, so the AAAs Are more expensive!! So, what up¿?
@jmbunkin, I waited too long to edit my comment, so My Bad!! Nevertheless, I think I figured out [after doing me math] what you meant!! The AAAs are 'bout 29¢ each for the 168 batteries & the AAs are about 34½¢ each for 110 of those cheap ass btrys! $o, your right man!! My humble apologies!!
@jmbunkin @pmarin, what about at Costco’s, or Sam’s? They sell bulk items.
Are these the exact same from the mehatrthon about 3 weeks ago? Seem so… same price too… …
@jonjen2 think so too… did anyone get some yet and try them?
EDIT of course even a crappy battery might show strong when first tried.
@pmarin yes just delivered yesterday… they said, evereready made by energizer in the mehraton… But these look the same; no mention of energizer now…
@jonjen2 @pmarin
I have run across these several times, but I have yet to see any test results. I know that the companion product, Eveready Gold, is truly awful - and numerous reviews confirm it.
@pmarin @werehatrack so, no. Not getting screwed twice…
@jonjen2 @pmarin, the Cwazy Wabbit owns Eveready!!
@jonjen2 @pmarin

Silver? So they came in second place.
Hmmmm…
/giphy second_place_award
@TheMonkeyKing
Better hope not. Eveready Gold exits, and it is truly awful.
@TheMonkeyKing Second place is 1st Loser.
I have more then that on site already. Maybe in a year or so. But NOT NOW DAMN IT
I see these at the Dollar Tree for 4 for $1 so for the quantity/price here you save .50 cents.
@sudynim Dollar Tree isn’t $1 anymore, and they may not be alkaline like these are.
@sudynim
The only Eveready packs I see at Dollar Tree are the truly worthless Eveready Gold, which seem to rival Lucas for performance.
Something about refrigerators, right, @shahnm?
@narfcake See below…
I want these. I am sure they are powerful.
/image refrigerator
@shahnm didn’t you mean…
/image batteries in fridge
@Kidsandliz @shahnm
I’m sure @shahnm has a fridge just for batteries.
Battery!
sigh.
I missed these the first time on Meh, then bought them off Morningsave.
for a lot more $ than this, it seems.
Oh, great! Now I can run the wireless light bars that I bought… for about a month! Yippee!
Warning. You will get a box full of lose batteries. They are not packaged in groups of 4 or 5 batteries.
My box was a mess.
@arosemena my son is for minimalist packaging and always asks why we overpackage products. Like batteries sealed in plastic or little cardboard boxes (or both), then put in a cardboard box which is put in plastic bubble wrap in yet another cardboard box. Personally I’m with him.
@arosemena OCD?
@arosemena About 10 of the batteries fell out of the box and a few more fell under the rest of the batteries. I was able to get them re-organized.
I agree with you and with your son, but all extremes are bad. I just wanted to others that I got a piñata full of batteries.
Maybe I like some order on my batteries.
@arosemena everyone loves piñatas! Or is that everyone loves a parfait?
/image parfait
These come in mass quantities because you’ll go through them in the same manner
However bad these are, they can’t be worse than the God awful Lucas batteries they sold on here a while back.
I swear 1/3 leaked on arrival and the rest sucked and leaked.
Cue the Lucas Electric jokes.
@clutchdude
What did you expect from the Prince of Darkness?
@clutchdude @werehatrack
Lucas, inventors of the intermittent wipers. And intermittent lights. And intermittent starters, fuel pumps, and wiring.
/image replacement wire smoke
@clutchdude Yes Luca as a mess. Had to get a refund. They were leakier than deepthroat was with Watergate
If I put three of them side by side with the cat upside down, will the devil be summoned?
@arfdawg No. It takes more than that to get me out of bed.
I feel lied to - I was promised a stupid Star Wars joke but was delivered a really, really clever one. Booo
@jazzdongs Do you know boba fetts real name?
@riskybryzness Tell me!!
@jazzdongs Robert Fettuccine
@riskybryzness Oh I thought you were going to tell a joke… That’s canon
Bought two packs and recieved 1 full pack and 65 loose in the box. There is no packing material in the box, just loose bateries.
Received only 162 AAA instead of 168, but received 118 AA instead of 110. Like the last time this deal came around, they shipped me too few AAA batteries, but more than enough AA batteries to make up for it.
So, ahs anyone actually evaluated whether these things are worth having, in case another load of them shows up?
You quoted $25.00. Then you charged me $27.00???
Why the difference??
@amigox5 Probably sales tax. For most residents of Texas, it would have been a trifle over $27 with tax.
