@Lotsofgoats We have the same one from about two years ago. It just throws cat litter across the room with its brushes rather than suck it up. But it does pick up cat hair.
We have one of these (Electrolux 2-in-1) but an older model. Problem is that the batteries were all lined up in series, so they can't be balanced if their capacities get out of sync and difficult to user-replace (the wires are spot welded to the individual cells). So if one cell starts going bad, the thing quickly becomes unable to hold a charge.
Still seeing complaints at Amazon about it not being able to charge, so I'm guessing they didn't fix the problem.... :/
I have had the older 9.6v (EL1014) for a couple years now and it's still going strong... the only downside to the one I have is they hid the attachments for the dustbuster mode behind the stick shell, so you have to drag out the whole stick to get the attachment you need for the dustbuster mode... doh.
@heartbleed don't wonder: electrolux stick vacs are crap. We spent more on a dyson kid's toy (PoC) that has as much value as our EL1014A did when it was new.
We have a Shark Pro which does a fine job, but it's a pain to use a full size vacuum on stairs. I find nothing can really make a carpet stand up and look new like a powered brush roller. Does anyone know if the roller brush on this is powered or just spins because of the suction?
This was actually perfect timing for me. The brushroll on my older Ergorapido EL1014 broke in 2 this morning. I did research on replacements today and it was down to either this model for $109 at Lowe's or EL2030A for $88 after coupon at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Just my luck, I placed the order for the one at BBB at 11:50 then checked here 20 minutes later and saw this deal. Guess that one is going back to BBB once it arrives.
@RedOak Wow, Americans return (literally) tons of vacuums. This makes me feel a bit better about buying refurbished anything... Those can't all really be bad right? Most of those on the left appear to be some pink model. Don't buy that one...
@mehdaf They're not pink. They are Georgia Red. And you are right, they can't all be bad. Most probably only need to be recharged, repackaged, reshipped, and rewarranteed for six months.
meh you made me get a vacuum i thought was for things more then my clothing and furniture and now you brandish one for everything i loathe you........ especially cause its not cheap enough
I tried valiantly to purchase one through Meh but the meh gods said "No, we will not let your order through". Not sure if it's a problem with the site or on my end but I can't place the order. Too bad. I need a new vacuum.
I really need and wanted to buy one of these but so many free product "Vine" reviews on Amazon (15%) raised my skepticism. Three Vine reviewers even rated it only one star. There seems to be a problem with the NiMH batteries. These things should have more dependable Lithium-ion type rechargeable batteries instead. Indeed many vacuums of this type do have Lithium-ion batteries at the same new list price point as this unit. There is a big difference between a six month refurbisher's warranty and a five year manufacturer's warranty on a device like this with a well documented expensive part problem. It may be why the refurbisher came by these units in the first place.
@sparkyfarad I doubt the chemistry is to blame based on a comment above that they're all just soldered together in series. That, to me, suggests the world's dumbest charging strategy, one that is bound to kill cells. It also suggests they used NiMHs because if they tried to similarly cheap out while charging a Li-ion, there'd be a lot of flaming vacuums out there…
@brhflsoldering, or more likely, spot welding together cells is a very common way to volt up (series) or amp up (parallel) NiMH battery cells in these devices by ganging them together. So yah, the NiMH chemistry might be fine for a while and is worlds better than NiCd. But it isn't a really durable battery technology.
@RedOak True, my mind kind of wandered on that. My point really was that when you're charging in series, you should do a decent job balancing. It wouldn't surprise me if they cheaped out on the charging circuitry, opting for NiMHs that die but not in a fiery mess. NiMHs aren't ideal here, but I'd be surprised if the bigger problem didn't lie elsewhere.
Perfect for me since I was looking to get a new hand vacuum and this is a 2 in 1 so I don't have to lug around the heavy and large regular vacuum when I want to clean the stairs.
I had an older version of this. Used it for several years. Liked it pretty well. Until it quit. Batteries dead. Took it apart to see if they could be replaced. Short answer is no way. Not only are they welded together with little metal straps, but they are arranged in a pattern that makes it virtually impossible to remove them and replace them. It's a throwaway vacuum. Ugh!
Last night, as I was picking up the rice that my 1yo dumped on the floor, I said to my wife, "I want meh to sell a dust buster." STOP LISTENING TO ME MEH!!! You're like the NSA.
@pajamma Holy crap, that is the Actual. Dumbest. Thing. And yet ... and yet ... $5 more for new. I'd be tempted if I hadn't already pulled the lever here.
But it's just as well, since I'd OBVIOUSLY have to spend another $15 on rhinestones to bedazzle the Realtree version.
These things are the bomb. (Well, if you have the sense to realize they're built around a Dustbuster and not ACTUAL VACUUMS, ffs. If you expect a battery operated motor the size of a golf ball to produce a howling vortex of sanitation, you'll get what you deserve.)
I have one for the office and one for home already, so I emailed my friend that recently broke hers and bought an unkind-worldly-macaw for my mom.
If a wet fiber mop, or a broom & dustpan, or a regular vacuum, are all too hard for you to use, then this worthless PoC is for YOU! It'll do the next-to-worthless job your lazy @ss intended on doing in the first place. Suck it Trebek, you sleazy Canuck
These are great at first, but i think the NHh batteries are a big mistake here... ours only lasted about a year... swap these over to Li-Ion batteries and I think you have a winner for quick cleanups!
@dertek It sucks that your vacuum doesn't suck! You have a couple of options here, but the best place to start is going to be to contact the warranty holder to see if they can work out a repair or replacement for you.
@bacon4jason I hate it when used merch goes out at a refurb. If you're looking for a replacement, I'm thinking contacting the warranty holder will be your best bet. Here's the link:
Unit Dead On Arrival. The power adapter stays cold so it doesn't charge. Warranty requires me to ship unit to factory on my dime. That would cost over half of what I paid for it. What to do?
Yeah, this unit definitely falls into the "used" category. Fairly scuffed and also won't charge unless I wrap a rubber band around the hand-held unit to press the contacts together.
I'll certainly give the warranty a shot but I get the feeling that it's going to be a hassle.
The vacuum cleaner does not operate. Pressing the button operation, but does not turn off, press once more. And it does not even turn on the LED lights. enter link description here
Hey @youngwanjoo! We can't see that video because you have it set to "private" - please change that setting and we can see what you mean. Also, looks like the warranty for this product is:
Same charging issue. Should've just went Dyson. Any luck with meh.com/support? Or with the warranty route? I love how the warranty company notes, "the complete machine must be delivered pre-paid to the address below," then never gives the address.
@talv0002 I'd start with messaging the warranty email address - warranty@arcaugusta.com and seeing how they want to handle it. If that fails, the peeps at meh.com/support are good - and do genuinely want to help. (They're around M-F 8-5ish Central...ish and can usually get back to you within 1 business day.)
What in the world? I received refurbished products before and it looks BRAND NEW. I didn't realized I was buying a scuffed, used item for this price. This vacuum can barely pick up a piece of popcorn. The item I received looked like it was thrown on the concrete and dragged!
@jazed0324 Eww. You can try working with the warranty (top post) on a replacement, or hit up meh.com/support for other options - they'll probably ask that you try the warranty route first, though.
I know I am late to the game posting here on this, but what a piece of garbage.
I have another Electrolux vac just like this one that works perfectly, so I bought this one for my daughter as an Xmas present, meaning it sat in a closet for a couple months while I proudly thought of the deal I got.
She got it home and put it together, but the hand vac doesn't make good electrical contact with stick's frame, so the only way to charge it is to tape the whole thing together. This "America's Remanufacturing" outfit who supposedly refurbished this thing should be embarrassed.
This is the 3rd Meh item I bought that crapped out, so I've rapidly lost faith that these guys are selling halfway decent stuff.
I don’t think mine ever charged. I was about to throw it out when I contacted customer support. They told me they’d send me a new hand-help vacuum part free of charge since I bought it within the last 12 months.

It sucks!
@lichme Low hanging fruit!
@lichme Suck it, Trabec....
This sucks!!
I absolutely do not need this so Meh.
Wow this blows
@jml326 Blows and Sucks at the same time.............
Refurb?? No thanks .. A meh day for sure
Where do I plug in my phone or mp3 player?
We do love ours and use it regularly. Very maneuverable and the lights are actually functional.
Since this is a vacuum cleaner, if it sucks then that's actually good. :)
Tell me, fellow Mehtizens - is this piece of shit worth it?
@VeeDubTDI perfect tool for the tool that really doesn't want to clean their floor
somebody find out how well this works on hardwood floors while I go to sleep
east coast out ✌
@Lotsofgoats
We have the same one from about two years ago. It just throws cat litter across the room with its brushes rather than suck it up. But it does pick up cat hair.
@kennner weird: it does the same thing with dog food and dog hair. So, no, lotsofgoats, this is a meh
@kennner @dlmasonjr welp, thanks for the info!
Nothing [forcefully produces suction] like an Electrolux! (Low-hanging though it may be, at least do it right!)
Also, I can't say I remember the last time someone made reference to whist. Are you secretly from the distant past, or far-flung future?
Sellout coming in 2.5 hours.
We have one of these (Electrolux 2-in-1) but an older model. Still seeing complaints at Amazon about it not being able to charge, so I'm guessing they didn't fix the problem.... :/
@AySz88 I had the exact same issue. Crappy, impossible-to-replace, NiMH batteries. Whole thing is practically disposable.
I have had the older 9.6v (EL1014) for a couple years now and it's still going strong... the only downside to the one I have is they hid the attachments for the dustbuster mode behind the stick shell, so you have to drag out the whole stick to get the attachment you need for the dustbuster mode... doh.
Given that I already have a Dyson handheld vac, it would be silly for me to get this. Still, I wonder how this works compared to it.
@heartbleed Right.. Dyson ftw
@heartbleed dyson wins.
@heartbleed don't wonder: electrolux stick vacs are crap. We spent more on a dyson kid's toy (PoC) that has as much value as our EL1014A did when it was new.

Well played, Meh.
NiMH chemistry battery not ideal for durability.
And who is "America's Remanufacturing Company"? (The warranty)
Their minimalist webpage: http://arcaugusta.com/home
You'd think the Reman. company would at least drag the couple of torn and disheveled boxes out of the frame for their one and only promo pic.
@sparkyfarad and hopefully cleaned.
@sparkyfarad they do appear to be located in Georgia, USA. Or at least their website says so.
meh you made me get a vacuum i thought was for things more then my clothing and furniture and now you brandish one for everything i loathe you........ especially cause its not cheap enough
I tried valiantly to purchase one through Meh but the meh gods said "No, we will not let your order through". Not sure if it's a problem with the site or on my end but I can't place the order. Too bad. I need a new vacuum.
@madmod20061 contact us at https://meh.com/support and we'll help you out.
@JonT Thanks. But I managed to get it through my phone. Not sure why non-mobile site would not let me buy on any browser. Alls well that ends well.
At 12V, it'll do for a quick, small clean up -especially at this price- but the 18V + is where it's at for decent portable power.

NiMH battery care: don't run them down. Immediately stop using when you hear the motor slow down. Fully recharge before using again.
@RedOak True, my mind kind of wandered on that. My point really was that when you're charging in series, you should do a decent job balancing. No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
@jrwofuga but at least it appears they were refurbed in Georgia. So there's that.
@RedOak it's a start.
Bravo! Capital write up my good man. Simply smashing.
Am I the only one disappointed it's not another SDF?
Now why would I buy this one when I could have the Realtree one for 5 bucks more.
@pajamma Pfft...who wants new when you can buy refurbished here.
Also what if you accidentally take it outside, you'll lose the realtree one, but this will stick out against those pesky trees.
I'll give it a try. Besides, longer-miniature-pastry has some pretty images. This isn't one.
@OldCatLady you can't un-see that!
Hmm... $44 vacuum... Would for sure be a good 1st timers vacuum, so it's meh for me today.
These things are the bomb. (Well, if you have the sense to realize they're built around a Dustbuster and not ACTUAL VACUUMS, ffs. If you expect a battery operated motor the size of a golf ball to produce a howling vortex of sanitation, you'll get what you deserve.)

Arrived DOA.
@dertek It sucks that your vacuum doesn't suck!

Arrived, chàrged overnight, works fine. Roomba gets the wide open spaces, this gets corners. The faux gerbil hordes have dwindled.
ha!!! refurbished? more like "used", rusted springs and all
