Soy or Rice milk? Nope. Sorry, you lose. I stopped reading when I saw that.
@capguncowboy
Rice ain’t so bad, soy is ick
I’d use banana milk I think if I wanted an alternative to cow in something like this. Or possibly oat
@capguncowboy I don’t mind vanilla soy. I also use vanilla in my french toast so I may have to try using vanilla soy
@capguncowboy @Cerridwyn I don’t think soy or rice milk will make a good custard, which is what this is all about.
@capguncowboy @craigthom
yeah, that’s a point
not that i’d really use either
oat would work though, because it was developed originally for barista’s to use and you can froth it
At least it was tasty spam this time.

18th century French Toast?
@Targaryen i LOVE that channel!!! Watch it all the time.
@ivannabc Yup, it mixes things I enjoy, cooking and history.
@Targaryen I’ve never heard of wine in the batter (or the topping). Love the open fire stove, and that whisk is too cool for oldschool. Thanks for a new channel to binge!
@ivannabc @Targaryen
Culinary history stuff is awesome! I haven’t seen this channel before. I love that he’s using all traditional equipment and everything. So cool.
I’m quite excited that Good Eats is finally getting it’s come back.I was being sort of held over with Frankie’s World for a while
lol.
@LeviOhPlz @Targaryen omg i love good eats! ! My husband got me tickets for my bday to altons live show when it came to arkansas. It was amazing. We also went to see brain candy with vsauce and Adam. That was not necessarily food related but was very science related.
@ivannabc Yes! Watching them geek out together was fabulous.
@LeviOhPlz jake got tickets for our nephew who LOVES mythbusters. He was so excited he couldn’t sleep for 2 days. Lol
Add a tsp vanilla to it.
@lseeber Yes, that’s what I was going to say. Ditch the cinnamon, add vanilla.
@Fuzzalini I like both.
Not to be negative, but isn’t this just the normal way to make french toast?
@Bogie Well, yes. Except that most of us prefer our French toast with bacon or syrup, not Spam.
I prefer using milk from cows.
As mentioned above, vanilla adds a lot of flavor.
I have no idea what that sugar is, but putting real maple syrup on my french toast is best.
@daveinwarsh Isn’t that just called milk?
@daveinwarsh Confectioner’s sugar aka powdered sugar methinks. And yeah… I’ve never tried making french toast with any other milk. I might be willing to try almond milk but that’s it.
It looks like this involves some cooking.
No deal.
@heartny Yup. IHOP and Uber Eats or doordash and it’s like magic. It just shows up.
Heheheeheh, “knob of butter.”

@LemonTheCat @therealjrn Have you seen the “new” episodes from 2012ish? They hold up!
I’m guessing the spam was for Chelsea sugar. It’s sugar from New Zealand. What an odd thing to advertise on a US site.
@RiotDemon i love international recipes.
