East Coast Rocket Fans
6There’s a rocket going up on Friday from Wallops Island. I hope I remember to watch.

My husband just mentioned it today…I hope we get to see it. We can see them sometimes from SE PA, but when we’re down in lower Delaware they feel like they’re super close. Such a cool thing to witness!
@k4evryng A few years ago they sent up a sounding rocket that ejected dyes. My photos didn’t turn out well but it was really cool to watch.

@sammydog01 so cool! We just saw that it was potentially postponed until Saturday.
If there are even a few clouds, we have trouble seeing it. We’re just a little too far away. We are trying to make a point to be in Delaware for a launch this summer (if there are any, lol!) I had no idea how neat it was to see a launch that seemed so close until I actually saw one.
@k4evryng Thanks for the update. Saturday I’ll probably be in northeastern Virginia. Even better.
It’s windy. 40 more minutes of window.
And it’s scrubbed- next window May 9 8:03 EST. Bummer.
scrubbed again
/giphy maybe tomorrow
Ten minutes to go, winds are still high but they hope they drop enough to launch.
Some of you guys must live in this part of the country.
@sammydog01 Why would we want to?
@Barney BECAUSE ROCKETS
@Barney Some random person on facebook said they should have launched it on Saturday because the skies were clearer. MUST BE A COUCH METEOROLOGIST.
Oh yeah, it’s on hold.
@Barney @sammydog01 So if someone does live in the pink area, someone might be able to see a rocket? I didn’t check because I figured I was too far from the coast. Note to self: Must remember to pay attention.
@sammydog01 @speediedelivery Don’t ask me. I’m playing it safe and staying in Kansas.
@Barney @speediedelivery That’s what they’re saying. I think they said ten minutes in the rocket will eject a canister of dye. The rocket is heading from Virginia to Bermuda. The NASA Wallops facebook page has the most current information on launch status.
Here’s the live feed- you can look at the ocean while you wait.

Scrubbed for wind
Stupid wind
LAUNCH IS GO AT 8:36 EST
TONIGHT FOR SURE. Well not for sure but maybe since I’m getting tired of following the launch every night and seeing it scrubbed.
Window 8:10 to 8:53 follow on facebook.

LAST NIGHT IN THE WINDOW. Waiting for clouds in Bermuda to clear. It’s completely overcast here.
