@ircon96 I figured it out - I searched “Feeling” instead of “Feelin”!

@Kyeh Yep, that’ll do it! I try to search for the simpler words that are less likely to have variations or misspellings, but not so simple that there could be dozens of matches. It’s a fine line with the bots.

@ircon96 I usually try to search the least common word but didn’t take the contraction into account. Should have searched Garfunkle! (Or at least Groovy.)

@ircon96 I wasn’t familiar with the one you posted but really enjoyed it and it immediately made me think of this one.

@januarymick I had never heard them before, either, but i found out they had worked with T Bone Burnett on a couple of their early albums & are now being produced by Brandi Carlile & the Hanseroth twins, so that peaked my interest! Oh, and they’re originally from Muscle Shoals, so that doesn’t hurt at all.

For an easy connection, Martin Gore is best known as a founding member of Depeche Mode.

@ircon96 Hmmm; I think that kind of reach got vetoed early on, but @ExtraMedium could weigh in if he’s around.

@ircon96 @Kyeh If you feel like this connection is specific to the contents of the videos then that would be a valid veto. Also, if you feel like a song about assassinated individuals shouldn’t be followed by a song with “Death” in the title as the only connection I’d back that vote.

@ExtraMedium @llangley @Kyeh To clarify, i was thinking more like assassination = a kill/killing = The Kills. I didn’t think it was nearly as much of a stretch as the example in the first game where Tesla was linked with AC/DC because the scientist supported AC current, neither of which had anything to do with the songs or the bands in question. For future reference, is that kind of outside-the-box approach not allowed anymore?

In any case, i got to reuse it in the conventional way below, so i think I’ve restored the tear i made in the space/time continuum, it’s all good!

I think it’s just a question of what the participants think is fair; there were some links that were super obscure (I was guilty of one and got chastised ) so I think it’s just kind of a matter of degree.

@ircon96 @Kyeh @llangley Yeah, if you follow the posts (not just the tracks) from the first 2-3 threads you can see some in-fighting caused by things becoming more and more loosely connected and so we tried to tighten things up a bit. Some weird links do still slip through, so no harm in trying things. Worst case scenario you get bridged (the next track links both yours and the previous song which validates your pick by proxy) or vetoed and the game goes on to give you another shot down the line. Or both in this case. All good as long we’re enjoying playing.

@Kyeh @ybmuG I was speaking to a guy that hosted karaoke for events…he said this song was the perfect party starter. If the crowd had inhibitions about singing, you could always find someone to do Tequila and that would get things rolling.

@llangley This album - when I was sixteen, I had this weird little summer job lacing leather purses together. We were all teens and the place had only a few albums and I had to hear this one about 148 million times, I think. So I can’t even listen to it anymore!

@llangley @mossygreen Hah! No, it was a job sponsored by a city agency (“Youth Services”) and I think I was actually 15, not sure. It was okay work but I had bratty teen boys for coworkers; I didn’t enjoy that.

@ircon96 @llangley Weird, somebody (can’t remember who) posted Linda Ronstadt’s Heart Like a Wheel, but it’s gone now. I think the title was slightly mis-phrased, maybe they deleted it because of that?

Mea (maybe) Culpa…
Yeah, I think that’s what happened… and it might have been me again! Sometimes I will post and then think… “hmmm did that get used before”? (All too frequently I find it actually has… by ME!) Normally I will check first, but sometimes if I forget I will post the vid then look up the cheat sheet, then delete it if it IS a dupe all within the 5 min window.
I have gotten in the habit of checking my posted songs to be sure someone didn’t sneak one in before me (or drop one) after my post goes up to be sure I don’t have an ‘orphaned’ post.

@chienfou @Kyeh @llangley @mossygreen Ohhhh! Okay, that makes sense! I don’t think my phone updates fast enough for that to happen to me. I have a similar problem, but mine is usually one where i don’t see a song that was posted a HALF HOUR before mine! Anyway, we got an Alice Cooper out of the deal, so that’s a silver lining!
