@ExtraMedium Okay, I have to admit I don’t get how this one connects?

@Kyeh I knew this was going to be stretch and should have explained initially. Ron and Russell Mael are two brothers who make up the band Sparks. They discovered Christi Haydon and actually performed the music for the song prior to my post. If I’m not mistaken, she was a cashier and they just liked her look and then made her into a somewhat famous singer. Anyway, my song was a link to the musicians, Sparks. If that’s too much of a stretch we can call it a veto since the follow-up to my post also links all the way back up to mossygreen and funny enough, mossy followed up llangley’s post with a song by Sparks. Wild how it all ties together.

@llangley Mainly it was the “souls” reference, they don’t need to be lost, necessarily, that’s their business! I figured it’s a common enough expression, referring to parishioners as souls, the tradition of “souls to the polls,” etc, that i could get away with it.

Yeah Mark is great and I love his storylines (for instance Sailing To Philadelphia… who else would write that song?) Sorry I didn’t have time to weed thru YT to find a better one…

@chienfou Not at all, i enjoyed the irony, & luckily the lyrics were easily understood for those of us who are native English speakers!

That synthesizer and guitar section always takes me far, far away…

@GetClosure Puddles does have a great voice, but i think I’ll always prefer Cale’s’ arrangement. Btw, thanks for sending me down the Puddles rabbit hole! Jk, I’ve been enjoying a bunch of his videos & found out he’s touring with Piff the Magic Dragon (love him!) & they’re coming to my neck of the woods. Now THAT would be an entertaining show!
