This has a swappable battery whose long-term availability may difficult to predict, but at least it’s not single-model-specific and therefore likely to become unavailable as soon as this specific model goes out of production, as happened with my Tineco A10. (And it’s greatly preferable to one with a built-in and non-swappable battery, which is pretty much junk when the battery eventually fails.) At present, it’s possible to buy replacement packs for this as noted below. Buying this kind of unit may not make as much sense as buying a stick vac that uses a battery that you already use, if there is one, or buying a model for which an adapter is readily available to allow the use of a very commonly available pack. I will also point out that a stick vac that uses a swappable battery can allow a much longer runtime if you have multiple packs charged up and ready to swap in, increasing the advantage of buying spares. I could literally run my Ryobi vac for over 6 hours because I have multiple packs on hand, BUT it’s a whole lot heavier than one of these Dreame vacs, and costs well over twice as much. For me, the weight is not a problem. Your mileage may vary. If having a lightweight unit is important, and you’re okay with the fact that a spare battery pack costs about half as much as the whole vac being sold here, then this is a decent deal and worth having. [this has been edited to note that the battery is swappable.]
Bought one of these in a meh-a-thon. It is surprisingly well built. Unfortunately even the lowest power setting was a little too much for the ruggable in the living room so it stays in our RV.
@OnionSoup@werehatrack@yakkoTDI invite neighbor kids over with “free Lego bricks” sign. Might need to sweeten the deal by tossing a bunch more bricks or an entire Star Wars UCS set. But they’d probably just take the good stuff and leave the original mess.
@franksan the business end does lift up a bit when you tilt the handle mostly horizontal, and it can’t go fully 90° on the same plane since the dirt trap blocks the way
Got this in my least regretful IRK ever, and while it’s super handy, it won’t replace my ten-year-old, wired, refurbished traditional vacuum. It’s nimble, but it lacks power and dies during a slow pass through the house. Awesome for a quick touch-up, otherwise meh
“Does it come in Georgia Red: Nope, just white and gold, which, to our knowledge, describes zero college color schemes”.
Really? You know Georgia’s colors, but not Georgia Tech’s?

@werehatrack The battery is swappable and can be purchased on eBay, Amazon, AliExpress or Dreametech
@troy @werehatrack Wow, 'zon and the manufacturer really aiming for the moon there
@EvilSmoo @troy Yeah, the unblemished-box price is pricey, but the deal here on Meh looks really good even without that comparison.
@troy @werehatrack is the battery same as the R30? (I think that’s the one I got in an IRK)
Didn’t want to risk buying a battery online for that one until I could confirm it’s the problem.
I have some Dyson and I have to say build quality of the Dreametech seems up there. (Except for non-functional status at the moment)
@troy @werehatrack Aliexpress it is!
Guys and gals, what’s more important - a blemished box or an open heart ready to love?
Consider bringing a girl home who’s ready to love.

I’ve always wanted an LED vacuum to clean up all the LEDs on my floor.
@OnionSoup I am holding out for the Lego vacuum.
@OnionSoup @yakkoTDI ITYM ShopVac.
@OnionSoup @werehatrack I don’t want to vacuum up my shop, just the foot maiming Lego bricks.

Anybody know if the sucker will still contact the floor when the whole shaft and handle are totally horizontal? IOW, does the hinge rotate a full 90°?
@franksan the business end does lift up a bit when you tilt the handle mostly horizontal, and it can’t go fully 90° on the same plane since the dirt trap blocks the way
@nikodrant Very helpful. My couch is so low to the floor I can only get under with a swiffer.
@franksan My Ryobi will stay in contact with the floor with the tube horizontal and the power head on the floor.

VAN MURALS! GROUND SQUIRRELS! SPIT CURLS! AWESOME!
What is an AW? Is 120 of them a good thing?
@getkind “AirWatts”, a measurement of “power”, which was created by Dyson. Its introduction changed how the makers would have to game the system.
120 is a relatively typical number for a lightweight cordless vacuum from what I could find.

@bakntyme . . . this is how it should be.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
the color scheme of any team this might match is not worth discussing.
My vacuum cleaner arrived without Dust Cup, Pre-Filter, and Cyclone Assembly. Help? Thank you.

Just opened mine and it was full of animal hair, and what looked to be dried feces. I understand refurbished but filthy?
