Did not know. Ok where does it come from then, and how come all the celtic singers cover it, and how come it was sung at the JFK Jr's memorial service?
@DrunkCat Nice ninja edit. Also, nope. At work. However I did come in late so I could get the crockpot prepped for corned beef and cabbage dinner! Smithwicks and Redbreast. I'm all ready!
On this date, i miss Manhattan. I particularly miss 5th Ave, and the bars of East Village.
Dont miss the pissed-drunk twenty-somethings around Wall St at 10am tho. By noon they've hogged or messed up all the bathrooms and are just puking on the streets.
My mom explained when I was a kid that maybe we should wear orange . . . but not really (I mean, yes, but it violates the "don't be an asshole" rule, in my opinion; and Mom was kind of joking). Actually, given the signification, I think grey is a great choice.
I'm not against green, per se. Here's one of my favorites.
And I do like that shade of olives.
Oh, and I'm actually a little bit Irish too. And WB Yeats is one of my all-time favorite poets. So I think I'll read some Yeats and contemplate olive green to celebrate the day.
Hey! You talkin' to me?
Happy St Patrick's Day!
Have some green beer and sit out on your
Oh, and read Facts About St. Patrick
I said, where's me GOLD?!
Current shoe and sock combo:
And remember, "Danny Boy" is not an Irish song!

@f00l "Danny Boy" is a ballad written by English songwriter Frederic Weatherly and usually set to the Irish tune of the "Londonderry Air".
@DaveInSoCal Linda and her Londonderry Air:
@Teripie Even though it's not, you should definitely listen to this rendition that I stumbled across yesterday:
@f00l Scotland
On account of my late doggie, I'm skipping my usual wearing of Lucky at Last ...
... for the less cheery Unlucky
@narfcake I wore that first one every St Paddy until it didn't fit anymore.
@DrunkCat ST PADDY! DAMNIT.
@DrunkCat I'm wearing mine now.
@DaveInSoCal Are you drunk already?
@DrunkCat Nice ninja edit. Also, nope. At work. However I did come in late so I could get the crockpot prepped for corned beef and cabbage dinner! Smithwicks and Redbreast. I'm all ready!
@sammydog01 Oops, Ididn't see this thread before I posted in the other one. I'm wearing mine as well.
@DaveInSoCal What ninja edit? We both know that Meh locks down comments after a few minutes. :D
Also crockpots are the best! I too am in preparation for some corned beef.
If you have access to Pandora wherever you are I recommend "Irish Pub Rock Radio" today!
@DaveInSoCal Done.

Meh. I'm wearing grey. Seriously.

@joelmw Actually, St. Paddy's color was blue, not green, so your grey suit is actually closer ...
@rockblossom Uh, yeah, I meant to do that.
@joelmw
@medz That's so very awesome. To be clear, I was into olive before it was cool. That sounds wrong.
Happy St. Paddy's Day Meh!
Here's a great selection of Irish songs.
Enough is enough. I have had it with these motherfucking snakes
on this motherfucking island!
